I was honestly astounded at how high the prices are for a flea market that's essentially in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't tell if the people at the counter were the owners or just working the register. Either way, they were giving my group major stink eye the entire time we were in there. No greeting despite the fact that I said hello to them when we walked in. I say this a lot but it could have something to do with looking like younger alternative people in a place that clearly caters to an older, more conservative clientele. We walked around, looked for a bit, and balked at the prices. I mean, honestly. This place is packed full of stuff. We were the only people there on a Sunday afternoon. There's no way they're selling this stuff! They do have a fairly wide selection and I would say it's worth the stop just to look around. Lots of authentic antiques and no Temu junk, which is unique in and of itself these days! Stop by if you want? We didn't buy anything and I don't think the stuff in here is worth what they're charging.

I have no idea how they check to make sure everyone is out of the building at the end of the day. There were lots of flea markety items, used clothing, collectibles, tools, furniture and more. There were a few great pieces of furniture and, though I wish there were more, I'm sure that changes weekly. Fresh eggs from a nearby farm were only $3 a dozen and found in a cooler in an adjoining room; that's a real bargain with grocery prices rising. I bought a blue and white speckled crock missing it's handle for $2 and a beautiful tablecloth for $5. Lots of pricier items, too, if that's your thing.

It had me from the minute I walked in to pure fall smell. The decor is perfectly chic country with a touch of sophistication. We found a cute fall portrait. A sweater for the MIL. An adorable sheep that will just be cute stuffed on a shelf. A bag of some of the smelly good to recreate the same smell at home. I COULD list all the things I wanted to buy, but that would take a long time. Haha Just trust me, check out this corner store if you find yourself in the sweet town of Fort Scott.

It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!

There really is something for everyone. We have been having a blast trying different sodas and having family taste testing. Love it! Great indoor entertainment in the winter. They request that you put your purse in a locker or leave it in your car, which I don't mind at all! The staff is very friendly and with so many small trinkets I can see that they would have theft issues. I wasn't offended because I've worked in retail stores before and have been to quite a few antique malls that require the same thing. I highly recommend that you stop by and look around for a while! It's definitely worth the time!
