My husband and I absolutely love this place. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots for a rare date night because it stays open late, which works well for us since I am mostly bedridden and wheelchair-bound due to Stage 3 full-body CRPS and other medical pain conditions. I don't get out often, usually only for appointments once or twice a month and about once a month (sometimes every other month) for a date...so when I do, it's something very special that I have to carefully plan for, and I need significant time to recover afterward. Round1 has so many fun options all in one place. There's bowling, a huge arcade with both classic and modern games, racing games, basketball hoops, rhythm and dance games, and interactive skill games. They also have karaoke rooms, ping pong, and billiards/pool tables. It's really nice because there is something for everyone and every energy level...whether you want something active, competitive, or just casual and fun. We enjoy pool, basketball hoops, racing, several other sit down games like the Top Gun game. We have yet to order snacks as we usually get there too late, but will next time. We love Karoke so we may do a little Karoke The staff has always been kind, and the customer service is consistently good. We also really appreciate the security at the front it, it makes the environment feel safe and welcoming. We haven't tried bowling at this specific location yet, but we have at another Round1 and look forward to doing it here as well. One of our favorite things is just walking around and trying different games together...it honestly feels like stepping into a playful, fun space where you can forget stress for a while. My husband is incredibly supportive and often carries me so I don't have to use my wheelchair inside, which makes it easier for us to enjoy the experience together. Even though I'm 38 and he's 42, it truly feels like being kids again, laughing, playing games, and just enjoying each other's company. I can finally say this place is beeping beep beep. No matter what you need or when you need it (error on a machine, maximum payout, etc), you wait at least 20 minutes whether it's peak hours, literally empty (like today in the late afternoon), etc. Today, I surprisingly reached max payout for the Popeyes coin pusher and it legit took someone 20 minutes to just FREAKING SWIPE A CARD to let me have the tickets. I was contemplating whether or not to just play something. Then, when I was playing the Star Wars coin pusher, thank goodness, I was finished because the card wouldn't come out onto the platform. I was like forget it. Likewise, it's quite discouraging and quite true (as stated throughout Reddit) that they don't refresh or change out their plushies/prizes like other locations. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This was my first visit to Round1 in Concord, and I chose it to celebrate my 12-year-old's birthday with a few of his friends. What should have been a fun, easy evening instead turned into an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I am partially deaf and hard of hearing, and I rely heavily on lip-reading--especially in loud, busy environments like an arcade. During an interaction with an employee wearing a name tag labeled "Lead," he was speaking to me while wearing a mask. I calmly explained that I am hard of hearing and needed to read his lips in order to understand him. Despite clearly disclosing my disability and my communication needs, no effort was made to accommodate me. He did not adjust how he communicated, offer to write things down, step back and briefly lower his mask, or ask another employee to assist. There were multiple reasonable ways this could have been handled. Instead, my request was effectively dismissed. I was forced to call my husband over to act as an intermediary just to complete a basic interaction. That should never have been necessary. It was humiliating and completely avoidable. When a customer clearly communicates a disability-related need, especially something as simple as effective communication, the expectation should be that leadership staff know how to respond appropriately. This is not about mask policies. It is about the complete lack of accommodation after I disclosed a hearing disability. Businesses open to the public have an obligation to ensure accessible service. That did not happen here. Beyond the legal implications, this was simply poor customer service. This was my child's birthday celebration. Instead of feeling welcomed and supported, I felt dismissed and unsupported. Until Round1 takes disability awareness and ADA training seriously--particularly for employees in leadership roles--I cannot recommend this location. This review is mostly for the karaoke rooms. I did have a beer on tap while I was waiting for my friends though (minimal selection, can't try before buying, and served in a plastic glass ). But it is a kids/family place I guess. There are 4 karaoke rooms and when I arrived at 3:30pm on Friday expecting a wait list, I was surprised that there was no wait. Maybe because it is January? My friends arrived at 4:15pm and we were able to get a room right away. If there was a waitlist, we would have been limited to one hour but because there wasn't one, we were able to do 3 hours (yippee!). $33.50/hr for 4-6 people is super reasonable! However, we were not impressed with 2 microphones for 5 people. They said they could not give us another. Also, no lights or anything fancy like that. Kevin the bartender was very friendly. We appreciated him so much. Great customer service . CJ was also very cool ringing up my food order. I didn't get the name of the other guy who helped us after we had a glitch on our friend's phone (who was controlling the music) but he was great too. Speaking of...you have to download an app to control the music in the room and the reception is not very strong and neither is their free WiFi. Started with the bar, each person had to show ID, finally placed an order and the cashier disappeared said she had to get a manager. About 15 minutes later we just leave and see her coming from the back getting wristbands. Then there's the bowling. Errors upon errors in lane 1 and 2. I was there early in the day the other day just wasting time for a bit before an appointment - there was no one in there - it's been a while since I was in this place so I just looked around. Games are crazy expensive. The ones I looked at were 2.50. 2.50? huh? Who pays that? I can't imagine paying that for the 2 minutes of game time you get for anything. I'm sure there were cheaper ones (there had to be) but maybe they just overcharge for everything to keep the place open. They're paying a lot of employees for sure. There were seven or eight people there while I was there, just walking around doing nothing. I came here years ago with an old company I was with and bowled - it was expensive back then, I don't know what people pay today but their bowling is for casual bowlers, not real bowling. But the main thing was the state of the bathroom. The state of the bathroom in any establishment tells you everything you need to know about a place. It was absolutely filthy - I mean health code violation filthy. It totally smelled of pee and literally none of the urinals were working and every sink was out but one. The floor was disgusting, the toilets were all dirty - I mean not one clean one. Absolutely disgusting. I can't imagine being the manager of an establishment the public frequents and thinking the state of this bathroom is remotely okay in any shape or form. I did take pictures so see my photos - wanted to make sure to provide a little proof for those who find disgusting bathrooms a reason to avoid a place. There were seven or eight employees just walking around doing literally nothing while I was there. Why not get in there clean up and fix that bathroom? It is absolutely unacceptable and I'm baffled that any respected establishment would allow their bathrooms to exist in that condition. Thing is they don't care. Relative to other arcades, the games are very expensive. If you have the luck to play something that isn't broken here, you should go buy a lottery ticket. The customer service won't credit you back for malfunctioning machines, they make you wait for a staff to walk you to the machine and swipe their store card to give you credit. It takes extra time out of YOUR day, and they make it feel like you're being an inconvenience to them while doing it. Today I had 3 separate games that were malfunctioning - Iceman, Pac-Man, and Basketball. 1) Iceman: The water cannon wouldn't track on the screen to aim at the zombies. 2) Pac-Man: When starting a new game it would occasionally ask you swipe again because of error, but it would deduct credits even though it wasn't starting during one of those swipes. 3) Basketball: Swipe card, credits on screen, start button didn't work. I no longer have the patience to deal with the staff here because it's multiple machines EVERY TIME I've come here. Yikes! I don't even know how to begin. Came here with a friend and her kiddos to bowl and play some games so expectations were high. Right when you walk in it feels like you're walking into a rainforest -- Humid and hot. I thought it was just me, then 5 minutes in we're all looking like a glazed donut. Well that's fun. We get to the counter to grab a lane and the guy at the counter says it'll be an hour and we'll text when your lane is ready. Sure, why not. We then moozy on over to the bar and everything on tap is out. Fun! Slim pickings. After we grabbed a drink we go around playing games and run into a friend and her nephew, so obviously we had them join us. An hour in and we're like what's going on? So we went to check on the queue and the guy at the register goes "oh your lane has been ready you have 5 minutes or we'll give the lane to someone else". Ummm, what?!? Service is abysmal. So slightly annoyed we go to the lanes to get ready. As we start to bowl a frame the lane freezes. 10 minutes in we finally found someone to reset the lane. 5 minutes after, our lane and the lane next to us freezes. What the heck is going on? We see some guy that looked like a used car salesman and assume it's the manager -- my oh my was he awful. We're telling him about the experience and that we can't even enjoy our time because the lane keeps glitching - he looks at us and says who are you and we don't give refunds. Then he says, if you have a complaint do it online. What an awful person - now I know why all the employees here are rude, they get it from their manager. Visited Round1 with my family yesterday from about 10:30am-12:30pm. Before leaving, we tried to use the Naruto photo booth, which displayed an error and would not work. Since we needed to leave and our three kids were getting cranky, we asked for the unused credit to be returned to our game card. What followed was over 30 minutes of being ignored, dismissed, and given conflicting answers. A staff member with a "Lead" tag insisted nothing was wrong with the machine despite the error message, reset it, and walked away without helping. When we asked for a manager, we waited another 5-10 minutes. The manager (wearing a pink shirt) refused to help, walked away, and would not return--even after other employees asked her to. We were also told it's "company policy" not to give a manager's name, which is absurd. Eventually another employee confirmed the booth was still broken, but said nothing could be done. We were given a couple claw machine plays just so we could leave. This was by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Complete lack of accountability and extremely poor management. I would not recommend bringing kids here, and we will not be returning. read more

Overall a good experience! The staff were very nice and most of the times I've been there it's been easy to find someone to help us with our claw machine prizes. Unfortunately, some of the rhythm and dance games were down the last two times I went in January. It is pretty expensive but we did get a lot of prizes from the machines so it was worth it in the end. If you go there for the collabs, try calling ahead to see if they have what you're looking for. They didn't have what we went there for and told us we should try calling ahead and asking before we make the trip there. read more

I'm really disappointed because I used to visit this Round 1 all the time a few years ago when a friend lived nearby, and while it wasnt the greatest, it seems like it has gone significantly downhill, especially for rhythm gamers. 1. Ignoring the fact that many games at ALL Round Ones are no longer online for rankings or updates, so many high-value rhythm game machines at this location are just plain off on a Saturday afternoon with no explanation or eta of repair on them. Beatmania down. One of two taiko machines down (but still running). One of two gitadora machines down for part of the time with no explanation. One of two DDR machines are down, and on the one that's up (the gold one) the left side dance pad buttons are all incredibly unreliable/delayed and have been getting worse for a long time. All the rhythm games got moved from near the front doors outside to the doors facing the food court, leading to crowding if a line forms. There are also a few non-rhythm games shoved in the middle of the rhythm games for some reason, so they go ignored. Who designed this layout??? 2. No longer providing water to customers. One staff member told my friend she couldn't have a water cup for the drink machine. When I separately purchased a credit refill and asked for one of the promotions they had for a free novelty cup, a different staff member told me I couldn't get anything from the soda fountain with it, including water, and needed to walk into the mall to find a water fountain, because only their water cups were allowed to get water from the machine. When I told them someone else told us they wouldnt give us water cups, the staff member looked confused but just shrugged like there was nothing he could do and redirected us to the food court water fountains. These kind of policies do not make me want to buy food or drink from y'all, and your competition is literally right outside in the food court! 3. A significant number of the large crane games that dont require a staff member to retrieve prizes were left empty for quite a while unless a staff member was called. There was one staff member I regularly saw on the floor getting constantly asked for help and running to restock things he saw empty, and no one else out on the floor. The crane games are also quite far from the front desk, so calling an attendant if you're alone is really inconvenient. 4. The new Ado figurine collaboration just started, and despite knowing the machine would draw in lines, they only put the figure in a single crane game machine, one of the "grab ping pong balls and make them land in the CORRECT slot to win" machines. I understand the logic of using this specific machine to get more money out of players, but the length of time between wins caused the line to block walkways, and those customers would likely happily play on the other machines and spend more if they weren't waiting in line. Plus, there were plenty of other machines of the same type going virtually unused, and they could have been used for the collab. Even just one additional machine would have been better! ------ I don't really blame the staff on the floor; they all looked incredibly busy and pulled every which way, but management hasnt seemed to deign to help the place succeed with floor planning and additional staffing bc there's no competition; the next closest Round One is 50+ mins away from this location by car. Really sad to see things this way since I came here instead of Hayward based purely on my old nostalgia, only to be disappointed. I usually don't write reviews--especially negative ones--but I felt compelled to share our experience. On the day of our 7-year-old daughter's birthday, she wanted to spend time with her friends and sisters at an arcade, so we chose Round1, a place we had never been to before. While there were plenty of game options, the customer service was by far the worst we have ever experienced. My husband and the birthday girl wanted to play air hockey. My husband swiped the player's card twice, but nothing happened--the puck didn't even come out. We asked an employee for help, and he told us the machine wasn't working and said he would credit us 24.8 credits. Our daughter still wanted to play, so the employee called a mechanic. The mechanic arrived after about 10 minutes, checked the machine, then took another 10 minutes before returning with a puck and saying it was fixed. While they were waiting, I went to guest services to ask for the credits back--or at least credit for one game. The employee at the register told me they don't give credits back due to corporate policy. At this point, we were clearly getting the runaround. Another employee said that if the card was swiped twice, we had to play twice. We only wanted to play once. What made this even more frustrating is that we later learned they absolutely CAN give credits back when a machine isn't working. The employee simply chose not to help us. So not only were the employees rude, they were also unwilling to do the bare minimum to fix a situation they knew was caused by a broken machine. After about 30 minutes, my husband and daughter finally started the game--but after one goal, the air hockey machine stopped working completely. So how exactly were we supposed to play two games if the machine wasn't working? I then asked to speak to a manager. Another employee responded rudely, saying, "We only have one manager. He's busy... so you have to wait," and walked away--despite there being NO line at all!!! I replied, "I didn't know your manager's name was Busy." After 35 minutes just to attempt playing one game of air hockey, the manager finally spoke with me. His name was Elijah, and he acknowledged that he heard how rudely his employee spoke to me. I explained that all I did was ask who the manager was because we were not being helped over a very simple request. Overall, the place is overpriced. One game costs at least 8 credits, and you're done in minutes. We bought five cards at $12 each, which only gave us 82 credits per card. Our daughter, her sisters, and friends played for maybe 10 minutes before needing to reload, only to end up dealing with rude, unhelpful employees over one broken air hockey game. If you're going to work at an arcade--especially one filled with children--kindness, honesty, and basic customer service should be a priority. Sadly, on the day of her birthday, my daughter walked away disappointed and said she never wants to come back. Corporate should seriously review this location's customer service practices, staff training, and accountability, because this experience reflects poorly on the Round1 brand as a whole. read more

Went there with five friends yesterday to bowl. Paid for an hour of bowling for all of us. We're going to put our shoes on putting our names on the board. I go to get us drinks. Bartender was busy making ice cream or something said he'd be with me in a few minutes. It took about 20 minutes to get the drinks. He made every single person that was getting a drink. Come up to the cash register and show their IDs. All the while the time ticking down on our game. I was asking the cashier about it because it was taking so long to get drinks and he said well we should've bought the drinks before we paid for the bowling. Perhaps when people are paying for bowling you should tell them if they're getting drinks they're gonna take a half hour and they should get those first. I would give zero stars if that were an option. The karaoke rooms were dirty, and the couches were literally duct-taped. When my friend and I arrived, only 1 out of 4 rooms was operational, which resulted in an hour-long wait on a Thursday night. There were leaking pipes, blocked pathways, and several bathrooms were closed off. The sound mixing quality was also poor and required constant adjustment just to be usable. 0 Stars Birthday Party We booked a birthday party here and spent over $450, and honestly, we'll never come back. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional not just unfriendly, but with attitudes that made the whole experience uncomfortable. The setup was disappointing. We expected something more private, maybe a small room, but instead got barstool-style seating that was split up, which made it hard for the kids and parents to sit together. The included pizza was convenient, but that's really the only positive thing I can say. At one point, the kids were excited and walked a little fast/skipping not even full-speed running and us parents were right behind them. A staff member yelled "STOP RUNNING!" at the top of his lungs, then turned to us and said, "Watch your kids," in the most aggressive tone. The place wasn't even busy, and it lasted only a second. The way he shouted was completely unnecessary and over the top. They also advertise that you'll have a "party planner," but that's honestly a joke. No one checked in maybe 1 time. On top of that, when we got our cards, the manager forgot to load the credits, and when we politely brought it up, the staff acted annoyed, like it was our fault huffing puffing. The "20 free rainbow light games" are also misleading. Each game costs about 9-12 credits, so you get to play maybe two before being stuck with and awkward 2 credit so either have to pay more or play generic games. My kids still had fun because they didn't notice all of this, but as parents, we absolutely did. The prizes in the prize room price is off, they have a sign that says prize price may not reflect true prize. So what you see isn't what you pay in the prize room. Bad attitude from staff, unequipped to handle medium/high volume of patrons. They closed the bar and kitchen for an hour because they were too swamped (it wasn't even very busy) On our trip there was NO working bathrooms, and the mall closes at 8PM so you can't go out into the mall to use the bathroom either. Karaoke is fun when the equipment is working but unfortunately you pay by the hour and waste a lot of your time trying to get the equipment to work or standing in line to exchange microphones with dead batteries. I come here often for karaoke and genuinely don't understand how this place is managed. They have four rooms, yet only ever open ONE. Every time. What's the point of advertising multiple rooms if they're never used? The rooms are in rough shape -- couches literally taped together. Not to mention visible leaks from the ceiling/pipes in the main walkways. It feels neglected and poorly maintained. The front staff aren't necessarily rude, but the supervisors running karaoke/bowling consistently act dismissive, like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. We came here to bowl. We bowl with my brothers once a week and they practice here. We moved our last get together here so I could check it out. First impression is not great walking in, it's an arcade first obviously. It's bright and blingy and my first thought was - NOPE. But, at the end, in the back are some pretty chill lanes. They have big couches that you can order food from- probably won't do that still kinda cool. The balls are new and nicely organized. A few things that were off putting for me but not huge- he inspected our shoes - all of ours. And they enter your names for you. Also we requested 2 lanes and were told we only needed 1 even though it was empty. Like I said not huge but annoying. We had a good time and will most likely come again when we can't get a lane at the actual bowling alley. read more

This place is absolutely terrible, the customer service is extremely lacking and some of their "policies" make zero sense. Place was also very dirty. Trash on floors and tables even though employees were walking around doing nothing. This was a poor 1st visit and set the tone for never wanting to return. Security has you completely empty your pockets and doesn't allow vapes in, even if you want to go in/out for smoke breaks. Trying to get an employee to assist us in paying for a bowling lane was like pulling teeth. We got stared down by one guy who didn't want to help anyone and then the guy that did help us was slower than molasses. There's no sense of urgency here as everyone seemed to hate their job. If you don't like it, don't work there. After we finally paid and got to our lane, we attempted to get a pitcher of beer. After 10 minutes of trying to get service, was told that 2 people needed to be present and ID'd...fine. went back with 2 people to the bar and took another 10 minutes for her to check ID's then start pouring the pitcher which she kept pouring half out as it filled with foam since she didn't know how to pour beer. 1 person of our duo walked away with the glasses back to the lane and then the bartender wouldn't give the remaining person the pitcher to carry since now they were alone, this is fucking BS. You already carded 2 people and gave 2 glasses. This took over 20 minutes of our hour bowl time. We only ended up being able to bowl 1.5 games. Will NEVER go back. read more

I would say that this Round 1 isn't bad, but it's not great. The staff is always nice, but it can feel like there's too many at the register/bowling area and not nearly enough in the games section. The amount of claw machines they have is very nice, though. If you like claw games this place (like most Round 1's) is "all claws, all the time", which is great for me because my wife loves claw games and is awesome at them, so we never feel like we are lacking in that department. However, some of the claw machines feel like the claw itself is too small for the item you're lifting. I get it's mostly luck or just good placement, but some machines feel like you have zero chance ever (especially if it's a heavier prize, like a weighted stuffed animal. They always have them in the machines with the smallest/weakest claws). Cleanliness can feel like an issue sometimes. It's not bad, but sometimes there's just stuff everywhere (especially near the bathrooms). Overall it's a Round 1 and you know what to expect. read more

I went there with a group to rent out the karaoke room, but unfortunately, the karaoke room that we rented, Room 3, did not operate properly and we would have to either end up getting a refund which I did appreciate the refunding of the money. It was a Friday night and it's $58/hr. for the room for up to 15 people. We ordered food. The food was OK. I mean it's not five star but suitable for teenagers which is Who was consuming the food. I didn't know that the bar didn't only had wine and beer, but two glasses of wine and I was OK with that. I spent $50 on the video game card which my daughter use very quickly so overall it would've been OK evening if the main reason we were there which was karaoke would have to be accomplished. read more

Bowling lanes break every other frame. Waited 7 minutes for service in the "restaurant" while watching the employee lean against the counter in the back complaining to another employee. Asked to change lanes was told it had to break again and maybe I could ask the front desk. Games will take the money on your card. Rather than refund they'll give you more credits but not on the game that took your money, any other games are questionable. Basketballs are flat, pool tables unlevel. Customer service wasn't friendly at all and paired with an ill attitude. Service was slow when ordering drinks at their bar, waited a good 15-30mins before getting attended to despite them knowing we were there. Karaoke room being "full" when there was an unused one. Party booking - such a pain in the ass. Website is not user-friendly. It's difficult to find a way to get to your party reservation and manage RSVPs. There's no built in invitation process - just a link you can copy and paste. The location is not flexible for adding anything on within 3 days of the party date. It would be one thing if we were talking just about space - sure you can't guarantee additional space if you increase the head count at the last minute. But we're talking about a mid-week afternoon timeframe - not peak. Also, there's no reason why it should be complicated or difficult to add on things like additional food or arcade cards. How hard is it to add a pizza to the order? Or set up additional arcade cards? There's no easy way to pay for additional attendees the day of - you just have to hang out at the register and greet everyone yourself to pay for them. Bad technology. Bad communication. Bad customer service. And on top of it all - every time I call the only phone number anywhere I can find - it keeps saying the location is closed. Their hours are 10am-2am every day. How is that possible? NEVER booking a party here again no matter how badly my kid may want to bowl or arcade for their birthday. read more

Terrible place. Outdated Beer (Bud Light) tasted like butter. The hostess was rude and acted like we were bothering her to do her job. Avoid AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Ambiance was equal to dining in a toilet bowl sealed together with duct tape. Well, at least they covered the table with parchment paper. Dave and buster was popping though so not sure if it's because of this. Dave and buster has too many kids and very limited pool table so I prefer to come here but it was closed. This place is such a Ripoff, especially on the crane games. You'll deplete the points on your card before you know it, Dave & Buster's is definitely a lot more reasonable. 1 star is generous. I've been to various round1 locations across the country, winning countless prizes. I spent over $100 at this location purely for the claw machines and won nothing. The place is ghetto the second you walk in. You have rude security scanning you and giving you a pat down, feels worse than going through TSA at the airport. There was zero staff on the game floor assisting customers, and the claw machines are more rigged than any other ones I've ever seen! AND I HAVE PROOF! Almost every machine I went to had a missing screw or tape on it, making it swing more violently than normal or just be looser in general (see pictures). Hope this place goes under to be honest and gets replaced by a Chuck E. Cheese or something. Or the management gets switched. Anyways, don't waste your time. read more

We held our sons 7th birthday here. Astrid and Kelly really took care of us and our guests. We got the gamer gold which was perfect for our son's friends. They got their fill of various video games, as well as some crane machines. Also, everyone commented how good the food was. We bought additional wings platters as well as the Japanese platter.
