This place could be amazing but... 1) It's understaffed. Good luck finding someone who can help you on the game floor. 2) The staff is undertrained. No one working on the day I went was able to explain the difference between the two game card options (other than that one carries a $1 fee and one carries a $5 fee). 3) UFO catchers are not maintained. Come on. This is the big draw of Round One. This is what makes it different from other arcades in the US. When I went, the prizes in every single UFO catcher were either wedged into their stands from previous plays or they had fallen into out-of-play zones. ...Every single one! How? Why was no one on staff resetting the machines??? (See understaffed above.) The reality of operating an arcade with skill-based UFO catchers is that staff needs to constantly reset prizes and be available if you need a prize reset. At $2 per play, don't expect customers to try to win prizes that are clearly out-of-play or wedged into their stands. Twice I had to walk up to the front counter, wait in line, and then ask staff members to reset machines. Both times, the staff members incorrectly reset the prizes so that you couldn't even reach the areas that the photo examples recommended hitting in order to win. It's a shame. This could be the hottest arcade within a 100 mile radius. read more

I really wanted to love this place since they have everything- bowling, arcade etc. but the people are beyond rude. We attended a birthday party where the host bought additional food for the adults of the party (way more than what was needed), asked for to go boxes and was denied. The manager would rather throw out the food and waste it than provide to go containers because he was in denial that this was additional food! It made absolutely no sense. She paid for additional 4 pizzas and wings which were left and was denied boxes! The staff was rude to the host that spent way too much money on a kids party. Overall the kids had fun but I can not get over how awful the management and staff was. Please learn some customer service! read more

I threw my cousins 30th here because she wanted to do karaoke. When we first arrived no one greeted us. No one told us where to go. No one was helpful. My mom asked someone at the desk and they told her where to go and had her sign a paper. I still have no idea what she signed. When I went up to the desk again they talked crap about my mom coming up and signing it and leaving the desk. They didn't go after her or anything to get more information. No workers helped us figure out the machine and no one helped us feel comfortable. Once we settled ourselves and they brought the food. Not a word was spoken from workers. Just threw food down and left. We booked the party for two hours starting at 4 and had to get out by 5:45. To get help with anything you had to wait in line while workers stare at you. This was a horrible experience. I will not recommend to anyone and I will never go back. I am still kicking myself that I didn't ask for my money back for how horrible it was. Everyone says this is Dave and busters on steroids but it was really nothing special. Bowling ally, pool, and huge arcade is what's there. Prices aren't bad. I'd recommend getting the $40 205 credit card to play arcade games. It's a better deal. I split it with my friend. Some of the games were out of order. There's also a food area where they serve pizzas, burgers and fries, beer etc. personally I'd rather go to Dave and Busters. read more

We came to the mall the day after Christmas to get our family portrait & decided to check out this place.Once we found out how the hourly cards worked I got 3 for our daughters (8,17,20) $8 each for an hour play card was a great price. Our 21 yo son bought his own. The 6 of us headed to the back left corner of the arcade which had most of the green colored card swipers which are the games you can play with the hourly cards. Mostly shooting & racing, along w/ 1 air hockey table. All 4 had a blast n mom & dad got a couple of games in too only cost us $27. My 20yo figured out if she had to pay for the 1 game it would've cost about $9 for the one session. We didn't buy any food or drinks so cant comment on that. The Good: If you go on a week night there are few people with minimal waiting. The prices appear to be reasonable for your choice of billiards, bowling, karaoke, darts, or table tennis. A lot of choices for games, but very few for younger children. In addition they have food available. The Bad: Very few choices for younger children. Also, the location in what appears to be a dying mall does not help the overall entertainment experience. After I waited for 15 minutest to pay fee my table tennis game, I asked Amanda to explain me simple thing from the receipt, she was unwilling to do so; therefore , I requested to talk to manager and Amanda just turned her back to me and walked alway. This past weekend I had my daughters 8th birthday party with 10 children. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. The food came on time, and was very delicious. Awesome place for adults and children of all ages to kick back and have a blast. They have Pool, Darts, Bowling, Air Hockey, Arcade games, and my favorite, PING PONG! There's also a full bar where they're willing to serve pitchers of Victory Golden Monkey, which alone is worth the trip. The prices for most of the non-arcade games vary by the hour and are more expensive during prime times (Friday/Saturday nights). When I first heard about this place I was very excited to go, with a couple of friends.There was a huge selection of games, however, a lot of the games weren't working. The staff had no idea what was going on. We asked for the price of gaming bundles to which they said they would not know until you paid for it.When doing karaoke we spent 15 minutes in the room trying to set up the system and we realized they never gave us the remote or microphones and we had to go back to the front to retrieve our equipment. The karaoke was easy to navigate and was very fun.When it came time to play games we were told that we could get an unlimited pass for the games after 1am but couldn't use it on crane games, however once we actually got they cards we found out you could only play a very limited set of games many being exempt! After going to the desk to "upgrade" our passes the manager had no clue how to fix the cards or how much to charge us. The staff seemed very inexperienced and disorganized and this led to wasting time and money. The food was actually pretty good for an arcade.The bar was okay but tips were cash only which I never heard of but I felt bad being able to only tip with the cash that I had on my person. read more

As an adult, it's really exciting when an arcade opens near you, especially if you are not an every weekend bar fly. Though, we don't always have the most pleasant experience here... the most recent time was the worst!! My fiancé and I met a few of our friends on Saturday night for a few games and drinks. I say drinks lightly because this bar is constantly out of stock of everything(even the crap beer). It doesn't matter what time you arrive their bar is always tapped. Anyway, I walk in and head over to the bar to get my fiancé and myself a drink. (1 bar tender at this time) Well... I sat at the bar unnoticed and ignored for 10 minutes(with another couple as well). After that 10 mins, I put my phone timer on... 15 minutes after I've been sitting there another lady walks up and is waiting near me, she was only there for 3 minutes and she was served!! "Matt" the bar tender, looked at me and said "help was coming", then walked away. WTF? Whatever... So, not I'm running a clock of 23 minutes of being ignored. My fiancé comes over to wait with me. Matt walks over again and helps a different lady.(I've now been waiting longer than anyone standing at the bar). He walks by again and I shout "can I please order a beer now, I've been here for a half an hour". Matt finally comes over to me but is LAUGHING at me and the fact that I've been treated unfairly. My fiancé asked for 2 beers and Matt laughed in his face and said" oh we don't have that". My fiancé then proceeded to remind him it was 1 of the 4 beers standing up and not knocked over as if it was gone. Matt goofed around and finally gave us 2. He then proceeded to ask for our ids while trying to take my other friends order. Which I'll mention he was never nasty to my friends and he did NOT Id them. He gave my friends their beer first by the way. Not sure what I ever did to Matt except sit there for 40 minutes. Matt also gave my friends wrist bands so they wouldn't have to be ided again. As we were trying to pay for our beer my fiancé opened his wallet, and Matt saw his citadel card. Matt laughs and says " dude you can't use citadel here". My fiancé ignored him as he's trying to get CASH out of his wallet. Not moving fast enough for Matt, he says it again..." did you hear me? Hello you can't use citadel". I quickly snap back with "we come here often, we're giving you cash". He laughed then snatched the money out of my fiancés hand. He came back finally with our change... I asked if we could have our wristbands considering he gave our friends there's. Matt looked at me, smirked, said no and then walked away(I'm now 56 minutes in). I left the bar immediately afterwards. This is not the first time the staff was rude either. The ticketing situation is confusing your first few times and every time you ask for help the staff treats you like you're an idiot. There is never any parking and it's over run by young children even after 10pm Don't order food either! That's another hour wait just for you to deal with someone who's in a bad mood and doesn't care if they've charged you twice!! And! Only ONE counter takes citadel cards, but there's no signs or anything... they just wait until you order and you're about to pay to harass you about it. These people that work at this establishment need to either be Fired or put through some serious training. They're all incompetent assholes! Such a waste of my night because of some bumbling idiot!!! read more

Today my son turned 2 and my mother wanted to take him to Chucky Cheese. After finding this place I have to say I am glad we didn't go to anywhere else. My son had the greatest birthday imaginable. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. My son wanted a rainbow alpaca from a crane machine and came home with 3. The prices were reasonable and the food was good too. A great place for all ages. Great potential squandered by undertrained and overwhelmed staff and inexcusable payment glitches.. I've stopped by Round 1 three times now (Bowling, arcade, and Karaoke) and I think I'm going to call it quits. The first time there the staff had trouble figuring out how to take our payments for bowling. Resulting in nearly thirty minute delay from counter to bowling. The second time was to the arcade section, and after puzzling through the obtuse pricing structure I think we had a good night. Unfortunately I made the mistake of thinking they would have worked out the kinks when I returned a month later. Here's where what started ok turned bad. After waiting ten minutes in line to get to the counter, I asked about Karaoke. I was quoted a rate that was different than what the electronic sign indicated ($17/hr vs $9). Then I was handed a tub with remote and mics and sent off. Getting to the room I noticed the timer had started ticking so make sure your group is good to go. The room was immaculate but the remote lacked a battery cover so it kept losing sync and the mic stand was broken. There's no way to tell how long you've been there so start a timer on your phone. As we wrapped up, the lack of staff and training caused problems. You are expected to return the equipment in the same line people are purchasing time (remember the obscure pricing) so I ended up waiting in line for 15 minutes as the staff double up at registers puzzling out issues with the clock ticking. At $17-35 /hr that's unacceptable that you make me wait to check out, setup a return line. With my upbeat post Karaoke mood sapped I'm now told that "We don't take Citadel debit cards" if you're from the area you know that this is the major credit union and the cards are Mastercard branded. I think that this is a pretty major issue that should be communicated clearly before I started running up a bill. The shift supervisor and I just stare at each other. He offers no apology, and just asks if I have a credit card instead. After my wife wanders by wondering why it's taken 20 minutes to return the mics she luckily has a different card. We pay (including the time we were charged while I waited in line) and I leave, angry and feeling frustrated. 20 minutes down the road I discover they forgot to give me my ID back. Returning I cut the line and ask for my card. Not even a "oops, sorry". To Round 1 management, if you read this: 0. Fix your payment system. I don't care what the beef between you and Citadel is, I want to go to an Arcade, not arbitrate financial turf wars. 1. Train your staff so people don't wait in long lines to give you money. In fact, never make it hard for someone who wants to give you money. 2. Setup an equipment return counter. If you charge me by the hour don't expect me to return if you charge me for waiting in lines. 3. Your food/bar counter staff are grumpy and I tried to buy beer and food but was shooed away from the counter. 4. I can't hear a thing your staff says at the counter. They are unsure what they are selling and the noise level is too high. Sound absorbers required. read more

This place sucks! Our party paid for 2 games and after 1 they shut off our bowling lane. We complained about it but they did nothing to resolve it so we just left after being charged for 2 games but only given 1. Also our lane had issues with the pins multiple times and it took a very long time for any one to come fix the problem. read more

I was so hyped for the first Round 1 on the east coast and I definitely have not been disappointed on my last two trips there. There are no R1 locations within 6 hours of where I live, so I will never pass up an opportunity to visit R1 if I happen to be close to one in my travels. Their service is nothing short of exceptional and some of the games can't be found anywhere else in the country. This location has a lot more space than other R1 locations I've visited, and they make good use of it. The candy cabs, video games, music games, midway games and catchers are all separated and laid out nicely. I especially like that they have duplicates of certain popular games so the lines aren't always long. The variety of games here is absolutely insane. Casual as well as more enthusiast titles can be found in each and every genre here and there really is something here for everyone, whether you're a music game enthusiast or a ticket-hungry toddler. I haven't had a single technical issue with any of the games here. The staff is quite courteous and helpful, and even though the process is tedious for them and involves calling over to another location, they happily offered to transfer my credits from my other R1 card to the new one I purchased here. The only thing I could possibly gripe about is how some of the employees set up the catchers (claw machines), but like any other person with common sense I understand that R1 needs to make money off these machines and can't just set them all up on easy mode. Part of the game is being able to look at a machine and recognize when an employee or player left it in a winnable state, and knowing when you should back off and save your credits. Once more for the people in the back: UFO CATCHERS AREN'T VENDING MACHINES. Stop giving R1 bad reviews just because you and/or your kids are bad at catchers and blew a ton of money on them. Anyway, this place is great. I'll be visiting again this weekend when I'm in town visiting family. I dearly hope to see R1 succeed and continue to spread across the country! read more

Its a great place to play, eat and have fun. Even tho the arcade is kinda pricey. It has most updated machines compare to other places. I personally love the crane games. But the prize restocking time is kinda ridiculously slow unless you call the attendants to do so. Literally over an hr without anyone walk around to check on any machine. And it was on a Friday night! Thats something they need to improve on. How can you expect me to swipe my card with nothing to win inside??? Uggh. This place has so much potential but it falls way short due to many glitches all over the board. Extremely mismanaged, and bad flow leave this more along the lines of a romper room that allows adults in. They are obviously shooting to be in line of Dave & Busters but they are not even in the same ballpark, lacking the charm, organization, management, and project management to help make this machine run. Video games, and kids cannot make a place run by itself. So let's talk...this is a project manager's nightmare. Where to begin? Let's start with the flow. When you finally manage to find the desk to purchase a card loaded with points, there are a few confusing options. We went with the one time card being that we wanted to try it out first. Loaded with $50 and a number of points. Most games are between 4-6 points to play. My two kids ripped through their card in about 1.5 hours. On to the adult beverage situation...very limited selection right now. They were out of a few of the draft selections, and had a few bottles to choose from. The bartending service was SLOW. Yes, it was one guy but there were three patrons, and it literally took the guy 5 minutes to move in slow motion to open 4 bottles. I've actually never seen anything like it. All the while, we had rented a ping pong table because there was a two hour wait for bowling. The table rental is by the hour so I can't help but think that the employees are intentionally dragging their feet. The funny part is that they take your ID when you rent a table. Guess what they want when you go to get a beer? Your ID, which you no longer have...for crying out loud. I brought my own paddle but the tables are aluminum outdoor tables, so the bounce is a little funny. It doesn't help that they give you a 1-star ball to play with that was pretty much cracked and bouncing funny. We go to return the equipment and wait in The SAME LINE that you have to stand in to check the rentals out. Two people working the counter moving in slow motion. Waited ten minutes in line. Guy says we went 5 minutes over the hour, so we had to pay for an hour and a half...I told him we just waited in line for 10 minutes. He ignored me. Stellar customer service going on here. I asked how long the current wait was for bowling, and he said they are really busy and it would be at least 90 minutes, even though there were 7 lanes with nobody currently playing on them. C'mon, man. Streamline something...anything...this is like a bad joke. Ok, I guess we're done playing. Waiting on wife to grab our beverages only to tell her that we won't be bowling. She tells me the bartender ignored her to chat with a guy for five minutes before hooking up his boy that just sat down. Well, the kids put in for a snack while I was returning the equipment. By snack - a hotdog. We are talking about a hotdog. The kind that normal places have available on a hotdog roller and just pick up and put on a bun. Oh, no. Not this place. They have to go in the back, open up a pack of dogs, start steaming them for 10 minutes, then going back, getting it, cutting it in half, and grilling them before putting them on a bun. A fifteen minute hotdog...another first for me. Kid goes to get ketchup, and guess what? You know it! They are out! Christ of life. What a disaster. And if you sit at a table, don't expect to hear them call you. The speakers broadcast only in the bowling alley, not where you would sit and actually eat. W.T.F?? Kids want to cash in their points. I see two kids wait in line to exchange a $20 bill only to be told that they need to go wait in one of two other lines. We find out how many points they got, and choices are slim. I start to explain when my daughter asks, "who Cthulhu is?" based on one of the child appropriate rewards..."well, there was author named HP Lovecraft who invented a monst...nevermind." It looked like they did have some games I would've liked to have played but I was so turned off by the negatives. I'm pretty sure we won't be coming back unless we get a free gift card from someone. read more

Best arcade. I was thrilled when I heard this Japanese chain arcade was opening up in the area and I visited the first month they opened. I love their games and crane machine selection. Wife and I went last night at around midnight. Very relaxed and cool environment. Got a card with some credits and away we went. But around 40 mins before closing, all the games read as "Out of service" which means its their way of saying "get out" basically. I was furious because i hadnt even spent more than half the credits I paid for. The place should start shutting down like, 15 to 10 mins before 2am not 50-45....very unprofessional. read more

I like that this place isn't like a glorified Chuck E. Cheese. It's loud and dark but that's part of the charm. It's not geared towards kids like every other arcade I've ever been to. They don't accept citadel debit cards at the food stand here which is super inconvenient, but not the end of the world. Total rip off, which is to be expected! The claw games are rigged with weighted bumpers that prevent anyone from winning, let alone children! My favorite was buying my card for games, being put on the wait list for bowling (which was no problem), only to be told American Express and citadel MasterCard does not work at the bowling counter or the concession counter! Entertainment venu in the mall. It has bowling, pool, arcade games and, of course, a shop where you can buy stuff with your tickets won in the arcade. Also has food, but we didn't try that. Went on a Thursday at around midday. Place was empty. There were TONS of games. One of the guns for the Time Crisis game didn't work. Most everything else was fine but I recommend coming here in the middle of a work/school day if you can. This place would be a nightmare if there were tons of people here. I basically had all the games for me and my group of friends so we were able to move freely and play anything we wanted. I won a prize at the prize machine which was awesome, there's tons of variety of stuffed plush toys and they feel pretty nice. Will be coming back. read more
