Great bar! The live music is always great. Awesome outdoor area to enjoy the outside while still listening to music. Love this place. Bartenders here are always really nice and attentive. Just a great West Chester joint Miss the old sign outside. Bring back the sign!! The food is really good. Try their BBQ. My favorite is the bullseye sausage wrapped in bacon and their smoked wings. Last time the brisket was overly fatty and gristly but everything else was great. I also don't like their mac and cheese. It tastes like Stouffers. Everything else is worth a try.

The whole shebang! All made from scratch

If you're in or around West Chester, you HAVE to check out the Brickette! There really is nothing else like it. Pool tables, pinball, longboard, a stage with live music, and then there's the outdoor area! Fire pit! Cornhole! It's a very easy atmosphere. Bottled beers are the #1 choice. I had the Lone Star lager yesterday, it was tasty and ice cold. Oh, one more thing. They have a BANGIN BBQ pit that serves up da BEST brisket, pulled pork, and chicken.

Great vibe! Beers were cheap. The band was great! Feels like a Texas Honky Tonk! The history and decor is authentic and charming.

Brickette Lounge Honky Tonk & BBQ, Exton, PA: A Roadhouse BBQ Experience Worth the Stop! If you find yourself at Brickette Lounge Honky Tonk & BBQ in Exton, PA, on a beautiful day, make sure to dine in their outdoor courtyard. The picturesque setting significantly enhances the overall dining experience. Should the weather turn chilly, the indoor area truly embodies a lounge and honky tonk atmosphere, complete with a pool table, a large bar, and a dance floor. It's essentially a Texas roadhouse transported to Eastern PA. You choose your drink at the bar separately from the walk-up BBQ counter. The good news is they didn't just bring the roadhouse vibe--they also brought a couple of 1000-gallon Texas-style smokers and authentic Texas BBQ to Southeastern PA. It's one of the best representations of Texas-style BBQ I've seen in the state. Parking is convenient, with ample spaces available in front of the building. The service at Brickette BBQ is exceptional--attentive, friendly, and efficient. The portion sizes and value are excellent. I tried the "Small Sampler Platter" (on two trips), which includes ribs, brisket, Cajun and Jalapeño Cheddar sausages, chicken, three sides, two cornbread, onions, and pickles. It's a hearty meal that can easily satisfy two hungry men. Now, onto the important part--the BBQ: * Ribs: Large spareribs passed the bite mark test. Personally, I would have preferred a heavier bark or glaze, but the flavor was excellent--juicy and tender. Most diners will love them! 8/10 * Chicken: Perfectly cooked with a light glaze of flavorful black pepper BBQ sauce. Moist and great taste. 8/10 * Pulled Pork: Perfectly cooked, moist, juicy, and flavorful with a good amount of bark mixed throughout. It would make a perfect pulled pork sandwich with the slaw and black pepper BBQ sauce. 8/10 * Brisket: As a seasoned brisket enthusiast who has sampled brisket at approximately 400 different BBQ restaurants, I found it better than most commercial spots. It passed the KCBS judging pull test and was a standout offering with just the right bark and fat cap. 8/10 * Plain Sausage: This was a pleasant surprise. It had a nice snap and excellent flavor, surpassing my usual expectations for sausage. While the Jalapeño Cheddar was good, I preferred the plain, though both were excellent products. 8/10 * Collard Greens: Very flavorful and well-prepared with bits of smoked meat throughout for seasoning. Paired perfectly with the cornbread. 8/10 * Potato Salad: Normally my favorite side dish, it looks to be homemade in-house with a mustard-based dressing. It did not disappoint. 8/10 * Slaw: Perhaps due to the heat of the day, this was my favorite side. Light, crispy, and not overdressed, it had the perfect crunchy coolness to cleanse the palate between bites of the smoky BBQ. 8/10 * Cornbread: A large, moist, crumbly portion with a hint of sweet undertones. As a Southern gentleman, I prefer cornbread without sugar, and the light sweet undertones definitely did not offend my palate. Considering the portion size and moisture, it is a very good product. 8/10 * Sauces: The tomato-based black pepper sauce (8/10) wasn't particularly hot but had a slight kick. I would buy it by the bottle if available! The Carolina mustard-style sauce (6/10) was good but not remarkable. 7/10 I wish Yelp allowed half-star ratings because Brickette BBQ is better than a 4-star but not quite a perfect five-star establishment. Sit out back at the picnic tables, play some cornhole, and have a cold one--you won't be disappointed. While they are not rated the best BBQ in PA by Yelp, they have a claim to be mentioned as a contender. I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. Even if the food weren't great Texas-style BBQ, the service and outdoor area would make up for it. PS: they threw in a hot, out of the oven, homemade, Smores cookie ... one word "DIVINE." Tell them Big E BBQ sent you. Back on the road again, looking to visit 500 BBQ shacks around the world!

Great bar for live music and a lively crowd. We did not eat, just had drinks. Fun time. Great music.

When I first drove up, I didn't not immediately recognize it as the former Ship Inn because the traffic pattern at the intersection was different and the building looked more updated. The interior was spacious. My friend was at the bar where we sat the entire time. Since my friend was a regular, he knew the bar tender, Morgan. He vouched for her Old Fashioned which just happened to be what I had planned to order. The Old Fashioned was good. She made it with Evan Williams Bourbon. It had a good blend so that it was not too sweet, too bitter or overpowered by the bourbon. My friend ordered Garlic Parmesan wings which he seemed to enjoy. We sat talking for a couple of hours and never felt rushed. The vibe at the bar was friendly as folks came in and out for drinks. I will go back and check out the restaurant next time.

I had a pizza, which was thin-crust, had flavorful sauce, and a solid cheese-sauce ratio. I would've finished the whole thing if it wasn't for the beer flights! I had two flights and each of the beers I tried I would order again. They're named nautically which made ordering them honestly fun. Wait staff was friendly and timely, so much so that I'm already planning a return! I will say that many tables were empty so it was a bit easier to serve us, but I hope in the future VK gets more business. Good people, good food, great beer.

Do not park in the lot next to the building because it is for the US Postal Service and your vehicle will be towed. There is a parking garage around the corner on the corner of Walnut and Chestnut Streets. The cost is 25 cents for every 15 minutes. We ordered an Old-Fashioned with Woodford and a Blueberry Shaker. The Blueberry Shaker was only 3 dollars more than the regular drink and it yielded a total of 4 drinks for my partner. The drinks were good. For our meals we had the Steak and Shrimp Bourbon, Bourbon Street Burger, and a side Caesar Salad. Everything tasted very good. The decor is New Orleans Style although not completely authentic. There is a beer garden for those who want a less formal atmosphere. The hostess was incredibly good at her job. She was very friendly and engaging. We really enjoyed her service. First, my girlfriend and I arrived to the restaurant. We requested a specific table, and the host was gracious enough to do so. We then waited 8 minutes before our table was even touched, and it was just our (server? No intro, nothing) ASKING us if we'd like water. We say yes, and then waited an additional 5 minutes just to receive water in PLASTIC cups. Again, this person never told us his name, and we weren't even sure if he was taking our order or not. He appeared to be about 18, and was most certainly high Then, we requested glasses, and since it had been 15+ minutes since we sat down, said we were ready to order when we got the glasses. The guy took our order. We both got cocktails, which also took about 10 minutes. Finally, our appetizer came. We weren't even halfway through before the entrees came, we probably had about 10 minutes to finish it. This all could have been negated if our order was taken correctly, and things could have been staggered correctly. The "two bite" check occurred within 30 seconds of our food being dropped, and by then I hadn't even touched my food. It was way too early and felt like he was just trying to get it out of the way. At that point both my girlfriend and I were just ready to eat and we said everything was fine. I had to ask the guy for a bag on the way out, rather than him giving me one after our food was put into 3 boxes. I want to be empathetic of whatever was going on at The Social that Sunday. Yet, if you are going to make your steak $42, the service needs to justify that price. I will not be going back to The Social, and encourage their management to speak to their server who flubbed the ENTIRETY of my experience there. Myself and my girlfriend both work in the service / restaurant industry, and we know what good service is. We also understand that there are bad days. This was just abysmal. 4/10.

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!!…read more It was my birthday week, and unfortunately, my Tesla had been vandalized. True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.
