All these store behaviors tell me they won't be open in a year. It would be a shame for SEC to lose outlet because of piss poor employees with there childish ways.

One thing I have not found at this location or it's Coursey location is the frozen food of fried fish sticks or frozen fried fish from. Gortons and or those competitors--maybe it's located away from the frozen food section and instead the seafood section but being used to WinnDixie I assumed it would be in the frozen food section. Another difference is that for some sale/discount items, Super 1 Foods has a "coupon" near the item for you to retrieve to give to the cashier upon payment or you will not receive the discount. That's kind neat however I can see it as being forgotten and a customer will not leave check out your get the piece of paper for the discount. What else? Oh yeah $5 fresh daily meals from the deli---I am not sure if this is a grand opening offering or something customary but each day (except for Sunday) it's deli has a $5 special--meat and 2 vegetables/sides. Wednesday is chicken fried steak, Friday has multiple options including fried fish, and Saturday has tailgating chicken tenders. Its prices appear to be lower than Winn Dixie--I have not reached a conclusion whether their base product is equivalent or inferior I other competitors' base product. Since it's recently open, the ambiance and customer service has been attentive and polite and I hope that continues. I will be back.

I called ahead on last Tuesday to ask if they had beefless bulgogi and a designated section for their meatless frozen products. I was told that they did, but guess what, I scoured the frozen selection and did not indeed find it. There was hardly anyone working on the floor which is pretty rare. Everything was mixed up into one which made it difficult to locate anything and was a bit annoying considering I was already pressed for time and needed to get to Mississippi. The plants out front was reasonably priced and I bought a few. On the way out to checkout, I chose Manager, Trinity line, but Trinity did not speak with me at all. She didn't even acknowledge me. It was very weird and not something that I've ever experienced at any TJ's that I've been to. Usually, the cashiers are the most bubbly out of any grocery store that I've shopped at. I prefer to shop at TJ's because of their solid products and their cashiers. I think next time I stop here, I won't go through Trinity's line. It was weird since the guy before me, was greeted and got a smile from her, but I asked her how she was doing and she treated me like a tree. Anyways, I tried the TJ's exclusive licorice and it was the real deal. The mango, raspberry, and green apple mix pack was very solid and tasty. I damn near ate the whole bag last night. I got it because it has actual licorice paste in it and not just high fructose corn syrup. Another snack that I like are the sweetened orange slices by TJ's; so very delicious, but another extremely the best snack are the jerk plantain chips. I love TJ's, but I wish TJ's was located in every state, so that all people can experience the goodness of the store. This location is pretty much in a safe looking area of Baton Rouge and not too far from I-10. The parking lot is shared with other establishments. I'll definitely be back.

Maybe I go there too much but I find myself having personal conversations with some of them about their personal lives and other things going on in their world AND I'm not even from the area. Sure go here if you're in the area. I'd almost always prefer to support a store like this which is independently owned instead of one of the larger chain grocery stores where you don't get the personal touch. The deli also serves lunch and breakfast with several options on each. I've had the breakfast with no complaints and even a slice of pizza one day. Also, two of the ladies I work with go there to get salads on a regular basis for lunch. But there's also more hardier options available.

If you love fried fish, I recommend going for the catfish alone. To compare it to Tony's, a pound of catfish normally costs $14 a lb and their dressed fish is $5.99 a piece. I personally enjoy the crawfish etoufee, crawfish pasta, the boiled and fried shrimp, and the catfish. Definitely hit them up if you're in the area. This price is only on Fridays.
