My daughter just graduated from Rowan University. She had a great experience. I personally love the campus and think it is one of the best values for education in NJ. If there is one downside, housing can be a challenge. There is not enough of it and by Junior or senior year students need to find off campus housing. read more

As a parent, I've been disappointed with some aspects of my child's learning experience at Rowan University. One of the biggest challenges has been that several professors are difficult for students to understand the broken English, which has negatively impacted their ability to keep up with coursework. When we raised these concerns with advisors, we were told that nothing could be done, and we found them generally unhelpful in finding solutions. Parents should be aware that students may face struggles in getting the support they need, both in the classroom and from advising staff. I expected more responsiveness from the university in addressing issues that directly affect student success. This may be a problem nationally but it definitely is a problem there. read more

"I won't recommend it to anyone, especially not for Public Health. I loved the friends I made; We had to figure things out for ourselves; we were being tossed around from one professor to the next about internship information. They wait until the last minute to talk about internships, which causes so much stress especially if you're in your final year. However, most of the professors are insensitive. From the outside, it looks inclusive ; however, from students that actually attended, a lot of times they are dismissed, and I feel so bad for the couple of students that committed suicide. I believe they were highly dismissed. Rowan stresses mental health and student life; it's all a facade. If you want your kids to succeed while maintaining a healthy mental health, look to another college, please." read more

I'm a Rowan U graduate (Magna Cum Laude too, thank you!) - of more than 15 years ago now - wow . . . the campus has grown over the years tri-fold for sure! The last time I was there for my son's Boy Scout event at the planetarium, I was blown away by the "little city" that it's become. It's GORGEOUS now! (The planetarium is amazing BTW)! When I attended Rowan (as a commuter), I had really good professors for the most part. The classes followed the syllabuses and were ample for the number of students in each of my classes. Rowan TOOK EVERY SINGLE ONE of my CCC credits :) I must say - very happy about that. I learned a lot overall (Commun / P.R) - the main take-aways, other than honing my writing skills: dealing w/ varied people, working successfully in groups, and time management. I think I got a really good education. Life had taken me through a lot of B.S. along the way and I didn't get to pursue things that I wished I had . . . I tried to get a few jobs at Rowan, and had a resume that met their criteria, but no dice. I thought I'd have a leg-up, if you will, as an alumni, but - nope. I was very disappointed. As a single parent, I'll be sending my children, God spares, to CCC, then they will transfer to either Rutgers (1st choice) or Rowan. Reasoning? Rowan didn't help me out in my time of need ("giving back" to their own), so I'm in no rush to give them more of my money. read more

Daycare for C-B avergae students. Weed smell is prevalent. Our experience there was not a good one. Thankfully we transfered out.

Actually we went to the planetarium and it was outstanding. Only $5. Our host gave an excellent presentation and made it fun for all.

Love the university, it's a beautiful campus and town area, close to philly as well. Plenty of restaurants, parking, stores, campus is pretty big but pretty nice read more

Full disclosure: I have a degree from Rowan. '11. More full disclosure: I grew up one town over from Rowan, but refused to even look at it as a potential college. Mostly based on the fact that I lived one town over from it. Fast forward one miserable year at a private university in North Carolina, and I somehow ended up transferring to Rowan. It wasn't a bad experience, aside from the student loans. I'd recommend living in Townhouses. I've been back a few times since graduation to speak to classes about being a young adult in the workforce (including a class yesterday), and I'm always amazed by how much the campus is evolving. It's definitely a good option for locals. read more

They are a horrible horrible college. They enroll all the trash from north jersey New York etc but does not accept their local students who live in the town Who have phenomenal grades and excepted to all other prestigious colleges applied to. I would never recommend this college to anyone. They don't care that their students from afar trash the neighborhood read more

I graduated from Rowan in 2013. I transferred there from Gloucester County College. I was in NJ stars. The campus itself is pretty. I didn't mind walking. The parking for commuters was... a nightmare. I'm sure it's only gotten worse now that they've shut down half of the biggest lot. I know Rowan is sometimes regarded as being dangerous. Personally I never felt scared or endangered but I would definitely be aware of your surroundings. My major when I transferred was education. The lack of advisement for this major was ridiculous. I spent my first semester on wasteful classes because no one could advise me. The variety of class times for education majors ended up being a let down too. I was a full time student and a full time employee.. So finding class times was always rough. I ended up being an education and writing arts major (since you have to dual major for education). I loved everything about writing arts. I ended up finding an advisor in the first class I took for the major- Jen Courtney. She is the sweetest, most helpful person I ever met! I went to her crying at one point because the Education major was making me hate my college life. She helped me figure out options and made me feel better about my decisions to drop the education major and be a full time writing arts major! That being said- the writing arts dept redeemed Rowan for me. Especially Bill Wolff! He encouraged me to take a grad course as an undergrad! And I loved it! Another major complaint about Rowan- hardly any online courses!! And of course, not developing Rowan at GCC til I graduated! And the parking! But overall- good price and good quality once you find your place! read more

I graduated from Rowan in 2011 as well. I think Rowan has a lot of potential and is seeing a lot of growth right now, especially with the medical school. It's wonderful that they are adding all the housing, the new hotel, an ice skating rink, more food places and improving the Rowan card. I would say just like any other school out there have been some dud teachers, and scheduling problems but overall a good education and continuing to grow. Additionally, loved living in mimosa as a freshman, edgewood 500 building was awesome my sophomore year and townhouses were great (despite the heat not reaching the third floor). Good school and it's just getting better. read more

Graduated 2012, music education. Every college has their downside, so it would be unfair to give fewer stars based on that one professor who brought down a GPA or an advisor who was misinformed about some credits, etc. Rowan is a wonderful hub for learning and research, with small classroom size and teachers that build positive relationships with students and prepare them for employment after graduating. read more

Rowan is by far the worst place I've ever worked out. 0 . Absolute 0 communication. For example I resigned (put in my 2 weeks) and they kept my last paycheck. They were using our sick time at the beginning of this covid stuff and that was there reason I didn't get my last check. Thats one example of many. The union thay we are in is horrible. I asked my union president for help on the matter and he told me to call Trenton and tell them my story. I am not in the position to not get paid just like 90% of ppl. I don't get paid from my new job until next week so thats a week of not paying bills or anything. Gonna figure out how to eat for the week. When it comes to maintaining the buildings for the students lol haha its almost non existent. We were constantly short staffed and instead of working supervisors stepping up and doing their part they would just pick ppl do do extra buildings while they get to chill. Promising a way to move up in the company. That's another laugh. They only hire peoples brothers sisters aunts uncles sons daughters etc. 100% nepotism. They do their employees completely wrong and foul. Again so it's clear I didmt get my last check due to sick time used because its accrued over the year and my resignation was October 2nd but they had us using sick time because of the corona virus before there was a procedure in place. It looks like a great place from the outside but I promise you that it's not. 5 years of my life and I can really say I'm so happy to he out of there. I could go on and on about how they do employees dirty and have ppl sign off on what im saying but im going to end here. HR IS A JOKE. They just pass the buck to another person over and over. Its like talking to customer service for a out of country business. Have no idea what im going to do. I have 4 kids thay I proudly provide for and they held my last check over something like corona virus where they were using sick time at the beginning. Even if i do get a lawyer which I plan to do its going to be awhile before I see that money , if i do see it. Please take my word for it. Rowan is not a good place. This is a great college and the financial aid office is great and understanding along with many other of their offices, but the communication between the offices when it comes to a students situation lacks and turns a happy college experience to a stressful time where are trying to figure out why things don't add up. read more

I really wish this school didn't charge you for every little goddamn thing, because otherwise it provides a pretty nice college experience. You're definitely not paying as much as you would for some other colleges, but I feel like everything requires some sort of fee. Walking? Fee. Breathing? Fee. Existing? Fee. read more

Alright, this school should probably be reviewed at 3 stars, but it's gotten too expensive to get that extra star. Like your first boyfriend, this is not a bad one, but you could do a lot better. I studied in the Communications school, learned a thing or two, and then realized shortly after graduating that the program DID NOT PREPARE ME FOR ANYTHING. So, whenever a Professor stresses "theory," you have to realize that's another word for "pretend," and your so-called tangible skills are worthless outside the classroom. In all fairness, some (like 25% of classes) were actually helpful, while the rest were a waste of time and money. Maybe my problem is that I peaked in college. A high GPA means nothing. During my later years in the school, but the overall quality of students got a lot worse, which brought down my whole experience. Half of the students are checked out and unhelpful, which is horrible for group assignments. So, if you want to party, come here (or better yet, just go to Mexico. it's cheaper). There's bit a noticeable rise in crime lately too, from identity thieves at 7-11 to car break-ins to even an unsolved murder. This is a commuter school, so good luck finding a space. Oh, by the way, watch out for crowded dorms, loud fire alarms and trains that go off in the night. Meanwhile, Rowan just bought a $1 million house for the school's President. Sorry for the rant. It's just that it's been 5 years since graduating, and I have yet to find a full-time job. My mom is now asking me what I want for dinner. read more

I'm currently a junior at Rowan and I love it! The professors are all really nice, the campus is beautiful (the people are too), and student life is a ton of fun. The school is making HUGE changes right now and the campus is growing and advancing. I love Rowan for a million reasons. It's a medium sized school, with small classes, good on-campus services, friendly students, and a lot more! read more
