Jason and his crew showed up and did my small job on time. Great job. I'll refer your company to my friends.

Broke the contract by asking for more money before completion and then walked off the job when asked to correct some of the issues.

JC went above and beyond and we were able to redo our entire driveway with pavers, removed our old tree and grass and replaced it with turf and also planted a new tree as well as installed a new irrigation system. He also added some design elements that I didn't even think of and everything turned out great and within our budget. He had great communication throughout the process and his team was able to completed the work within 1 week!

My wife and I have a new-build that required additional landscaping of our backyard. We eventually decided to go with California Outdoor Living after reading all their positive reviews on yelp. In addition their quote was very competitive if not the best when looking at other contractors. We already had a design in mind for JC which made the process very quick. Although there was some misunderstanding with the design and drains throughout the process, JC was always responsive with his texts and quick to make adjustments. The moment we got our design approved by our HOA, the construction happened VERY FAST. We emailed California Outdoor living on a Wednesday evening of our approval. The very next day (Thursday), JC arrived to go over the outline. I do appreciate how fast things were done, but it was almost to a fault at times. They were ready to go by the next day but my wife and I didn't feel like we had discussed the plan and execution thoroughly enough. On Friday the construction workers were already digging out our backyard. They spoke only Spanish so communication was very difficult to ensure if our plan was executed appropriately. By Saturday all of the pavers were laid out. Construction was incredibly fast but because of that some details were lost in translation. We discussed with JC that we wanted an 11x14 ft paver island. However the final dimensions was 12.5 x 12.5 feet. We also wanted all the walls of our backyard to be lined with turf. However the paver border ran too close to one of the walls, that putting turf did not make sense. They only left 1 inch between the wall and the paver (see attached image). We appreciate how fast the work was done. The overall work was great BUT not exactly what we wanted. We felt rushed with the whole construction process. However everything was done in less than a week which was incredible! In addition, once the turf was laid out JC noted that window reflections from both our neighbors and our own windows would cause damage to the turf. He informed us this can happen sometimes. Going back to rushing things and not being thorough, we wished JC took the time to look at our backyard and factor in this possibility. If we had known the reflections could damage this area we would have changed our turf design. At the end of the day they are just executing our design, but it's these minor things that left us feeling like our backyard could have been better. However we are still very thrilled with the overall speed and communication done throughout the process! Would still recommend this company. But these small critiques are definitely something to keep in mind for future clients.

Unfortunately, my experience was one of the most stressful home improvement projects I have ever undertaken. The project involved drainage improvements, catch basins, pavers, and foundation waterproofing. Throughout the project, I felt that I had to closely monitor the work daily to ensure that items discussed and included in the contract were actually completed. For example, catch basin baskets that contractually were included in the scope were ultimately not installed, and I was not informed of this change until I specifically asked about them near the end of the project. Another example occurred when the project was presented to me as complete even though the pavers had not yet been compacted and polymeric sand had not been installed. Those items were completed only after I questioned them, reinforcing my feeling that I needed to closely monitor the work to ensure the agreed-upon scope was fully carried out. Another concern arose when Edgar agreed to remove an existing fascia board as part of the project. Instead of first removing the fasteners, a member of his crew pried the fascia board off, causing damage to the underlying roof structure. The damage was significant enough that I later had to hire another contractor and spend thousands of dollars to properly repair it. Communication was the biggest issue. Estimates, responses, and follow-up were consistently late, and I often had to reach out multiple times just to get a reply. Now that the project is complete, I have called and texted multiple times for promised waterproofing pictures. Despite continuing promises, I have not received anything. The lack of communication, the need for constant oversight, the unresolved concerns about workmanship, and the failure to provide promised documentation made this a very stressful and disappointing experience. I understand that no project is perfect, but good contractors stand behind their work and communicate with their customers after the job is finished. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

They finished the project within a day. We plan to use them again for a future project. As one ages, it becomes more important to find the right person for the job and to establish a relationship with that person in case you need him/her for a future project. This holds true for any type of service technician...be it a plumber, electrician, hvac tech, appliance repair tech, etc. You want to have a go-to person. Edgar is our go-to for drainage and concrete issues/projects. We had another quote from a different company that was relatively cheaper. We opted for Edgar because we felt comfortable with his knowledge and skills from our consultation with him, that he will provide the proper solution(s) to our needs. The prior company proposal seemed less comprehensive in meeting our needs. With the other company, it seemed we were given salesmen tactics and it felt that customer service was lacking. Not with Edgar. He responds back via our texts or phone calls..maybe not right away but that is understandable. ..he's busy and likely on job sites..but when he responds back, it's always communicative. If you see people who service you as extended family members who are here to help your needs and appreciate the fact that you can confidently pass a project over to someone else instead of handling it on your own..and this review resonates with you..then just go with Edgar and crew..you're welcome...lol

It was shared fence with two other neighbors and they agreed to share in the cost. I asked four different Companies to bid on a new cinder block wall. In the end only two Companies provided quotes. The prices were similar. I chose National Concrete based upon Brian La Fuente and his honest and straight forward approach. The project consisted of demo an existing wood fence and build a 219 linear feet cinder block wall with Orco split face blocks. The National Concrete team for my project was 3 highly skilled and very efficient craftsmen. I was amazed at the fast pace of the work for only three guys. They did not take short cuts. The crew worked straight through on the job. In the end it took four weeks to complete the fence including all city inspections. I think the work quality was top notch. Brian La Fuente and the guys at National Concrete were reliable and a pleasure to work with. Brian and the crew were always respectful and very responsive to my requests during the project. Very pleased with the end result. I would highly recommend Brian and the National Concrete crew for your concrete project.

Brian was ~7 mins earlier waiting in his pickup truck when we met onsite for the first time. He was polite, professional, and he listened very carefully. He got back to me by EOD first day we met whether my original plan needs a city permit or not, as well as all the additional expenses and the timeline. I interviewed 3 other contractors for the same project before Brian. All of them gave wishy washy answers when I asked about permit. Brian was the only one who provided me clear and professional answer to this question. I knew I would work with this gentleman at that very moment. As to time management, Brian was also great. He started working on the project on the exact day he promised, and finished it as scheduled as well. When there was any change, he would keep me posted without me having to ask anything. I appreciate this very much, as I waited for months beyond the original start date with another contractor who seems popular on Yelp, yet ended up being told to find someone else cuz he was too busy. Several months were wasted and everything got more expensive at that point. Brian is very responsive and thorough. He has very high standards for himself as well as the team. Whenever you raise a concern, he'll deal with it instantly and deliver results. He really means it when he says he wants everything perfect. You can tell he really enjoy doing what he's been doing and is very good at it. We got so much compliment from neighbors when the project is completed. Even some strangers passing by would stop to say "Nice work". I would have no hesitation to recommend Brian and his team to anyone.
