Hands down my favorite place to get BLS recertification (done so 3x already over the past 6 years…read moreat other places). The instructor was very upbeat and cheerful and got us through the session with constructive feedback with our CPR techniques. Even though it was a 4 hour course, the instructor made time fly by. The mannequins were thoroughly cleaned before our class started and we were given sanitary wipes multiple times during our session to ensure they were clean after each use. COVID precautions were definitely taken and the instructors had their masks on and the room was ventilated with a fan. Seating was 1 person per table which allowed for adequate social distancing. On top of everything, pricing was probably the best in town at around $45 ($60 with AHA book). Very professional and kind staff that went out of their way to make the courses pleasant. I will be coming back 2 years from now for my next recertification!

Went to this class for work, knew it was going to start off bad when the instructor was late. Not…read moreonly that, it was the assistant giving the class and we were paying for a professional course. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt to the assistant, he tried his best, however he was extremely difficult to understand (heavy African accent) and he spoke a million words a minute. A good 30 minutes was wasted listening to his personal stories and background. 4 of us total in class, me and my co-worker, the instructor's nursing school friend and a 4th woman who he deemed competent enough for him to sign her off and dismiss her within the 1st 20 minutes! Nothing was explained to us as far as technique. We were basically asked what we would do in various scenarios. Luckily we had prior knowledge and common sense. At one point the instructor left us alone in the room for a good 30 minutes and we even left to walk around the building searching for him. I was very disappointed in the lack of training we received. His best advice was to yell for help if in a situation where someone needed EMS. I was waiting for someone with a hidden camera to jump out and tell us it was all a joke, but unfortunately it was real. I give this course a 3 out of 10. We have multiple coworkers yet to go through CPR training (I was part of the guinea pig group), but I will definitely not allow any one else that I work with to go through with this particular class. I hope they can rectify these issues going forward.

My coworkers and I took the CPR and AED class instructed by Heather Smart…read more Heather is very knowledgeable. She prefers to do hands on instruction verses reading booklets and watching videos. The hands on approach is more realistic and gives a better idea of what may happen when CPR and AED skills are needed in an emergency situation. Heather is very passionate about her class and training. After the verbal lesson, we were put into groups of 4 with a dummy to have the hands on experience. The "smart" dummies are equipped with lights to let you know if the compression strength you are using is strong enough. A green light indicates you are doing it correctly. A red or yellow light means you need to use more force. We also used an infant dummy to see the difference between adults and children as the compression strength needed is a lot less and with fingers instead of 2 full hands. It was a little embarrassing to act out a real life situation at first. Not everyone is comfortable acting out a scenario in front of others. As a good instructor should do, Heather was addiment we would not be given a passing grade until she saw each of us perform the series of steps necessary to complete CPA and AED properly. We each took turns and she watched to make sure we did it correctly. After one round, the embarrassment went away and we all started getting into it. I appreciate Heather's approach and dedication to the class. She even got on the floor (see picture) with us to demonstrate the steps herself before turning it over to us. At the end of our 3 hour class, we were given a survey. I gave Heather a 10 (extremely satisfied) on all questions asked. We all left feeling confident and well educated. Hopefully our assistance won't be needed, but should and emergency arise in the future, I am happy we have our certification to help save lives. Our group plans to have Heather back in a few months to take a first aid course.

When I said " I cannot wait because my BLS card is expired" . She said that the "system doesn't work, I will let you know if I can fix it" which was her excuse for being UNPROFESSIONAL . Of course, I immediately looked for another option since I didn't have another day to wait to have this done. I found a really great company around the kingwood-humble area. I requested my money back from Heather and she totally refused to do so. So I ended up paying double for my BLS course. The other company I found was a professional company and I actually enjoyed the training. In fact, I was the only student and they didn't mind teaching me. After taking the BLS course with another company I realized that Smart Safe Development Solutions are no good for learning. btw the place where they hold the training is awful and uncomfortable. ( this was the only place I knew) but in fact there are great places out there for the same money! Look for other options!
