I read up on military stories. And sometimes, I was lucky enough to meet a veteran that would share their stories. Hill Aerospace had all of that. Since my wife does the planning, I didn't think much of our visit until we pulled up and those large decommissioned military planes sitting outside in all of its glory brought me back to when I was 10 years old. But the magic continues after you walk in. Within three large hangers housed of some of the most historically iconic planes on display. Add a small platoon of veterans, many of which had personally flown some of these pieces, the stories were endless and I had the honor of speaking with a number of these veterans and listen to their stories. It was an amazing time and I could have spent the whole day there. I don't say this often, but Hill Aerospace is almost a destination museum. It was such a great experience and those veterans made it that much more special.

We loved the Browning-Kimball Cars Museum, which highlights the Golden Age of motorcar history with a display of unique and one-of-a-kind automobiles. We also enjoyed the Browning Firearms Museum, which showcases the legendary guns designed and manufactured by Browning Arms Company, located in Ogden for decades. The Utah State Railroad Museum was also fun and included many interactive exhibits that my boys loved. They also enjoyed watching the model railroad trains move around the various displays. We had a terrific afternoon at Ogden Union Station and had a great time exploring Utah's rich history together. Thanks!

There is not a boring inch in the whole facility as they even decorate their employee access doors with intricate art work. Tasteful planters everywhere. This led us to be so confused with whether we input the right directions. However, on the building of the mall in front of the food court, you see "SeaQuest". Yep - we're in the right place... Once you walk in the mall, you pass the 90s looking food court and head downstairs below the food court to find the entrance of SeaQuest past a small playground for kids. At the register, we were greeted by a kind worker manning the check-in desk, Natalia. She was so amazing! She gave us the low-down on what to expect and even gave us a few extra tokens to use to feed the animals. Honestly, we had the best experience possible because of Natalia. We ended up having the full experience of feeding the otters, hanging out with the cats, and even the porcupine (quillio) and prairie dogs (blossom, bubbles, and buttercup)! Literally, SeaQuest was my major highlight of the trip to Utah! We could not believe the different kinds of animals they had in such a small setting, which of course from an outside perspective, you feel really bad that these animals are "entrapped" or living in such an enclosed space, but it's almost like you can see that the animals might actually enjoy living in there. Lol, probably because they're getting fed majority of the day, but the caretakers seem to be pretty good at spacing out meals for them. When you first walk in, it was almost alarming to the point of feeling like there are a number of safety hazards/concerns for both the animals and patrons. The glass for the aquariums are so low that people can stick their hands in (which is apparently totally ok to do for most aquariums). Some animals like the iguanas are totally hanging almost outside of their open cages for people to pet. You can also just hop into the tortoise's enclosure to say hi. So crazy. There are so many crazy kids running around, so I honestly feel worried about the animals getting hurt and bombarded on the daily, but what I love about this place is its uniqueness and mission to educate the masses. These animals are very well adapted to humans and seem to have very good caretakers, so that part was reassuring. Oh also, the little doctor fish that exfoliate your hands was the coolest! Some people can chose to go inside and park, but if you want to avoid traffic I would recommend parking at the high school and taking the shuttle bus in. A lot of people chose to park at Weber, I would avoid it cause the line to get on the bus I super long. Important note to do is to apply sun block. Lots and lots of sun block. There is no where to hide in the shade here cause a lot of people already took the good spots under the planes, the only shade available. I see a lot of people and at the end of the day they are so red and sun burned. I was even super sun burn cause I forgot to reapply sun block. Also remember to keep hydrated. They sell drinks and food every corner you turn. So keep energize/hydrated. The food isn't that bad. I bought a burger and it was actually juicy and not dry. I would recommend buying your food/drinks before you hit the crowds cause the lines are shorter. There are a lot of cool looking things everywhere during the airshow. You're able to go into the transporter airplanes. Sit in jeep trucks and see all the different airplanes and helicopters used. The air show itself is wonderful and can be seen anywhere on the base or even off the base. Totally worth going to.
