Shoots, This Place is the So Da Bomb! The owner greeted me right away with that warm, aloha spirit energy. No attitude, no long drawn-out process. She got straight to scanning my old dusty books while I waited, and when she was done, she texted me -- yes, texted me -- to let me know. Walked up, got my receipt, got my quote. Super professional, super smooth. Here's the best part: while I was waiting, I browsed around and found three gifts for my grandchildren that I knew they'd love. So in one trip I freed up a ton of space at home from books that had been taking up way too much room and knocked out some gift shopping. Win-win-win! The whole setup is easy too -- rolled the carts right from my car into the store, no stress. My friend was chillin' in the massage chair outside the whole time, so nobody's time was wasted. I was originally just gonna dump everything at Goodwill. So glad I didn't. I'm already planning to come back with my old DVDs and CDs just sitting my shed in the backyard. If you've got stuff collecting dust at home, bring it here first. You might walk out with cash in your pocket and a smile on your face. Highly recommend. 5/5, no question!

I wish this place was bigger. We still come by here when we are in the area, but a bigger location…read morewould be nice with quiet nooks for reading.

The Scholastic Book Fairs happens several times a year. I think one is in December and one is at…read morethe end of the school year in May. I enjoy going to the December fair because books can be a great gift for kids. Haha can you tell I'm in the education field.... Anyways, I went there this year because I was going to get my daughter's class books for their Christmas presents. They have quite a few specials at the book fair. One of their specials is build a box. You get a box for like $25 and fill it with as many books as you want. Sounds great but there's only a certain section that you can look to do that. Nothing in that area looked good to me. Helpful hint: if you want to get the good cheap books, then go early. I went about a week and half after it started and many of the cheap books were gone. They have aisles and aisles of books arranged by age or topic. Since I was looking for preschool books, I went to the preschool aisle. I didn't really know the system but I figured it out after walking down a few more aisles. There are price labels under each book. If it has a pink label, that means it's a discounted and cheap book. Since I was buying 18 books, as soon as I noticed that I went through every aisle to look for those cheap books. Of course since I was a week and a half late, many of them were gone. I did find one interesting book for $2 and was able to find 18 copies for the class. I thought I struck the jackpot with $2 a book. But then I went up to the counter and found out it's buy one book, get one free. Woohoo, I was over the moon. I got 18 books for $18! What a deal! The worker said all books are buy one, get one free. I'd definitely go back here. If you're looking for books for kids, come check out this place.

Only in MAY and DECEMBER!…read more This place is the warehouse for the books they use in the traveling Scholastic Book Fairs that come to all the schools throughout the year. Twice a year they open up the warehouse to "teachers, librarians, school personnel, book fair chairpeople, school volunteers, homeschool personnel". I'm sure if you're interested, you can fall into one of those categories. DIRECTIONS...You will feel like you're driving in the wrong place. From town, take the H3/Halawa exit and go to the end until it says "Halawa Valley Street" and flip that sharp right turn. Go PAST Iwaiwa St and stay on that winding road, under the H3 freeway until you see "Waiua Place". Turn RIGHT on Waiua Place and then LEFT into Waiua Way. MOST of the items were HALF OFF their already low prices. They had books for Preschoolers all the way up to middle school. My kids don't like electronic books, and sometimes they lose or destroy the books from the library. Now that Borders is gone and Barnes and Noble is slowly disappearing, this is a really great option to stock up on books without breaking the bank. This year I registered online at www.scholastic.com/bookfairs and printed out a coupon for an additional discount so I ended up getting 17 books, 13 pencils and 13 erasers for $40! What a great deal.
