Curried goat (because you are what you eat, so if you wanna be the GOAT u gotta have some Caribbean takeout sometimes) Rice & Peas, fried plantains, and 2 Jamaican drinks! Loved this lunch! I love the rice & peas which are actually rice and beans- super good. The fried plantains are also delicious- wish they gave me more they have a perfect sweet savory flavor and have an almost rum liquor aftertaste but in a caramelized way, not in a punch you in the throat shot type of way I liked that the goat came with big bones and some of the meat was still on the bone. Solid Caribbean food. I am a fan of this type of food, and this place was not as good as some of the other places serving Caribbean food. It's still good though, and especially unique for the Wilkinsburg area. I tried the beef meat patty and the brown stew chicken with a side of rice and peas along with plantains. I thought the meat patty was quite good. It had an extremely lovely, crispy, and buttery outside. It's filled with a fair amount of well cooked beef and even a few vegetables. It was a bit spicier than I expected. The size was good for the price of just $4 or so. The brown stew chicken was also quite good. However, I would say the portion of meat is not the greatest. More than half of the plate was just the rice, when I thought half of the plate would be meat. That's fine by me since I enjoy the rice more than chicken, but for most people it would be disappointing. The meat quality was fair, but it had lots of skin and tons of bones, so not the greatest portion. But, the chicken was flavorful and had a decent texture. The plantain portion was extremely small. But, you are able to chose 2 sides for free with your meal, so that is nice. The small bits of plantains were tasty and sweet, although they seemed almost a bit oily. The rice was very good. They give you a very large portion of it as well! I really enjoyed the flavor as well. It was not too oily and went well with the chicken. I wish there was more gravy to soak the rice with. It came with peas which are actually beans, and I'm overall satisfied. All in all, this is a decent place. It's especially good and stands out in Wilkinsburg. Had the Jerk Chicken dinner with rice and beans and greens. Fire If it's cold, warm up with some jerk chicken. Perfect level of spice for me, but i love it hot. I can always tell the perfect level of heat for me cause I'll just barely hiccup once or twice if I eat it too fast!!!! That's how you know, fyi. The whole fish looks amazing too. This place is da bomb! I recently tried them via Ubereats and was not disappointed! I got the jerk chicken and hubby got the curry chicken. I enjoy spicy foods but dang, the jerk sauce was too much for me! Taste was amazing and hearty for both dishes. The sides of rice and peas with stewed cabbage was well seasoned and yummy. The only minor thing I would change about them is that the menu says "rice and beans" and you are served peas instead. I'm fine with that but please be accurate, lol. read more

Oh well, it was still delicious!! As usual, I got extra gravy!!! The brown stew leaves such a good taste in your mouth. The fish was flakey & cooked perfectly!! The veggies seemed freshly cooked & they were a good consistency. I even eat the onions! ‍ The red beans & peas weren't bad (a little on the dry side but that's what the extra gravy helps with) and my cabbage was good but my husband & son's meal's cabbage seemed haggard. Excellent food! Ordered delivery, it arrived in good timing. Had the Jerk chicken w/ rice& peas & cabbage. Hubby had the BBQ jerk chicken, rice& peas & cabbage too along w side of Jerk pasta. Omg it was beyond spicy, even for me being Indian! Definitely amazing tho! Maybe next time a lil less spicy. If you cant handle spice I wouldn't recommend this spot, but it you feel like taking a risk or enjoy spicy food--come here!! Finally authentic Caribbean outside New York!! We love Royal Caribbean! They're not always open for delivery, but if they are do yourself a favor and place an order. After trying many of the local Jamaican-style restaurants, this one wins hands-down in terms of quality, price point, generous portions, and consistency. Our favorite entrees are the jerk chicken and the oxtails. My boyfriend gets the oxtails but invariably tries to steal half my chicken. The oxtails are tender and juicy without being too hot. The chicken has enough of a kick for those who like a little bit of spice, but they're easily kicked up a notch with the addition of a little scotch bonnet pepper sauce. Most importantly, the chicken is saucy without being soggy. I hate when jerk chicken is either totally dry or soaked in sauce so the skin gets nasty and falls off. Royal Caribbean hits the right balance every time with theirs. The only other jerk chicken I've had that can compare was in Jamaica from a little roadside place. Royal Caribbean's version is just as good! Not to be forgotten are the sides. The rice and peas and stewed cabbage are delicious. The texture and flavor of the rice in particular is much better than similar places we've tried. They also have a nice selection of bottled beverages and occasionally beef or chicken patties. Just writing this review is making me want one, so I just may have to order from here for dinner tonight. Well done! read more

This is one of the best Jamaican joints in the states! I've been to Jamaica 6 times and seek out their cuisine everywhere I go. The absolute real deal every time is to found here. Curry goat, escovitch fish and ox tails are favorites of mine. You can also sometimes get rarer delicacies like cowfoot or mannsish water (look it up). Ben has a rotating stock of fresh juices and specialty drinks like Irish Moss and Sour Sop. This spot is take out only with sparse decor. Call in advance if you're in a hurry, but the wait is never that long. Plus you can always enjoy a little pleasant conversation with Ben's loyal customers that come again and again. A small little hole in the wall shop. They have fantastic jerk, curry, and the Royal. Have to say I've seen a few pepper steaks go out the door and they looked and smelled great as well. I have a hard time deciding between the side cabbage and the greens but normally go with the latter when they have them. The meat patty's are really good to. Only downside here is room to dine in. There is a table that will seat 2 but your better off going takeout. Call in your order so you don't have to wait long. read more

Omg this place is so good!! I never have a good experience usually trying new restaurants through delivery but this one was the exception. I ordered through door dash and got the fried plantains, curried chicken with cabbage and rice and peas, and the jerk chicken with the same side. Everything arrived hot and quickly! I lived in a small town with a large Jamaican community about six years ago and the curried chicken brought me back to that time. It's is so tender and flavorful. The meat is bone in in case anyone was curious. I have read some reviews saying there is not much meat, but I find it to be a good portion. Especially with the large portions of the sides, you will be stuffed to the gills if you eat everything. The only thing I would change is I would have loved more potatoes in my curried chicken as they're my favorite part, but if that minuscule thing my only complaint, you can imagine how good it is. read more
