The amenities were so amazing always! The pool and gym were amazing. The clubhouse was amazing. The computer room where i homeschooled and tutored so many kids was sooo amazing!! My little senior dog absolutely loved the whole building! He knew his way around every where and everyone was always so sweet to him! We will definitely miss chasing each other down the halls! The staff was always sooooo friendly and amazing!!! I never had any issue that wasn't quickly resolved!! Everyone was always just soooo amazing! Maintenance friends were always so incredibly friendly and happy to chat! There were always so many fun events like breakfast with Santa! The office staff was always also beyond excellent! I know all of those things are extremely common in apartments no matter the price point... I have none of these issues here. I filled out all of my paperwork to move in mentioning my emotional support animal, I showed them the ID for move in, they said that was ok and no pet fee or rent was due for my animal. 6 months later, they charge me on my monthly bill for a $500 fee out of nowhere. They required me to fill out a medical form in order to get a refund on that 6 months later. I just paid the fee to avoid late fees or future issues. I also got pregnant during my stay at crimson, needed to move out to a different space because of my condition during pregnancy and to be closer to my family. There were people interested in my unit, main office never helped with any of this. I moved out two months ago, the apartment has been empty, and they didn't let anyone move in until my lease ended, I have emails from them mentioning how someone wanted to move in earlier, but they still didn't let them. I ended up getting my emotional support documentation signed by my doctor at the beginning of this month and sent it to them, they still haven't processed the refund on my account, the late fees are running, I've talked to many people at the customer service because the management of the building sent me to talk to them (for no reason) and I'm just a pregnant woman, 39 weeks, not working, and just wanting for them to remove the late fees and apply the fee to my may bill, so I can pay. I even wanted to sell my fence to my neighbor and they told him it was better to get a new one. Cero empathy from this place, it is like you're dealing with robots.

Paid on time, kept to myself, no kids, no pets, don't smoke. When I first moved in the management was solid. But the team changed while I was here, and dealing with the newer management at move-out showed me a completely different side of this place. The short version: they will tell you one thing to your face and do the opposite behind your back, and when you call them on it, they will not own it. I did a walkthrough before I left specifically so there'd be no surprises, and I was told certain things wouldn't be charged and that everything looked fine. Then after I moved out, the charges they came back with were the exact opposite of that conversation, and the bill came out to more than my whole deposit. What really told me who they are was what happened when I pushed back. I wasn't guessing, I had actual proof, a whole audio recording of what was said. And instead of acknowledging any of it, management just circled the wagons and defended themselves. No accountability, no honesty, just a lot of polished language about being "transparent" while completely ignoring the evidence in front of them. They care about protecting themselves and collecting the money, not about doing right by the people who lived here. If you deal with this management team, get everything in writing and document EVERYRHING, because they will not stand behind what they say. Better yet, save yourself the aggravation and look somewhere else.

They do everything they can to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. While not being the newest or most elaborate apartments, they are clean, charming and functional. Afton Gardens are located in a very upscale, residential neighborhood, and safety is never a factor. The apartments are gated, and even though your car is not in a gated area, safety is never an issue. Being a woman living alone, this is an extremely important factor for me. I come to Houston from Ohio every winter for a couple of months. I think Afton Gardens is absolutely the best deal in town! I wouldn't consider staying anyplace else while visiting the Houston area. So, if you are looking for short term, furnished housing in Houston, you have come to the right place in choosing Afton Gardens.

During that time, this building has continued to go further and further downhill. This is not simply a matter of occasional maintenance problems--it reflects an ongoing lack of care for the property, its amenities, and the residents who live here. We are currently in our third consecutive month with multiple elevators out of service. It can take 15 minutes for an elevator to arrive, while residents are left waiting in common areas with no air conditioning. The pool has closed without warning in the middle of summer, several gym machines are broken, the theater room does not work, and there are recurring problems with either the hot or cold water being unavailable. During storms, we regularly lose water, power, or both. The hallways also consistently smell terrible. These issues are rarely addressed promptly and often continue for months. What makes this even more frustrating is management's lack of communication. When residents need help most--during elevator outages, utility failures, or other building-wide problems--no one seems to answer the phone. It honestly feels as though corners are being cut throughout the property, because I cannot otherwise understand how so many basic services and amenities can remain neglected for so long. I would also take this property's high rating with a very large grain of salt. Prospective and incoming residents are encouraged to leave five-star reviews in exchange for a discount on their rent--before they have any real experience living here. If you read the reviews closely, many are from people who explicitly say they have only toured the building or are preparing to move in. Those reviews do not reflect the day-to-day reality experienced by long-term residents. When many of us first moved here, there were far fewer comparable options nearby. That is no longer the case. A beautiful new apartment building has opened directly across the street, and multiple other communities have opened throughout the surrounding area. This property is no longer the only convenient option for people who want to live in this neighborhood, and after experiencing this level of neglect, residents have every reason to consider the alternatives. The building is very secure, we had to be escorted via elevator to the party room on the 8th floor. The views were gorgeous and the room was very comfortable with plenty of seating for about 45 people. They had setups for food and drinks and we really enjoyed the facility.
