Bottom Line: Good enough for a convenience store and small gas station. My husband and I stopped at this Royal Farms while staying in Fenwick Island to grab a few sodas and some snacks for the trip. Overall, it was good enough. It felt a little cramped inside but the LED lights on each display shelf was a nice touch and really helped up find the perfect junky snacky items for out mini-vacation. My husband said the bathroom was big and clean. I'll take his word for it. Checkout also felt a little cramped but we were out of there quickly and found the self checkout easy to use. This Royal Farms has a handful of gas pumps but no diesel. The area for pumping gas was smaller than I'm accustomed to. read more

Be careful using your ROFO card. I I never got an email of a purchase on my card but a deduction was made to my checking account. Not sure what is happening. I have been trying to contact ROFO without success. No one is getting back to me in 48 hours and they say they have a backlog of ROFO credit/debit queries so I suspect I am not the only one. read more

I'm so disappointed. We've been going to royal farms for 25 years. It's always good and their fried chicken is great. We ordered a large meal and it was not great- not even good. As usual, they forgot part of the order, charged us for something we didn't get and the chicken was very peppery. The mashed potatoes were instant and bad and the gravy was like gloop and green. I rarely post negative reviews but this is not acceptable. I'm not going back. read more

I've seen Royal Farms in Ocean City, Maryland and the drive down for years now. It wasn't until Haloti Ngata, when he was on the Eagles, told me through the magic of television commercials, that Royal Farms had the best fast food fried chicken. I wanted to try it out for myself, but not badly enough that I took quick action... While driving down the Coastal Highway, we stopped in a Royal Farms and saw the chicken. At that point, my wife and I knew we would try it on our trip. About an hour later, we found this Royal Farms and stopped by. We placed the order and waited about twenty-three minutes. They dropped the dark meat chicken and when it came out of the pressure fryer, they realized they needed white chicken. Eventually out food was up and we tried it. It looked amazing, but they forgot a biscuit. Four minutes later and I was eating in the front seat of my car. Fancy me... My wife said it was salty and it was. It was a bit salty, not too crazy on the seasoning, but it was fried chicken. A nice crunch. I would love to have the deep fryer with the pressure cooker built in and I would do amazing things with it, but I get why they can't. You need to be more neutral and plain, otherwise it might be a turnoff. One person behind the counter was doing a great job of running the show during a busy lunch time. The other was kind of just there.., Can't say I'll be back and actually I would like to. They have some different brand name chips and other items I'd check out. Saw a royal farms in Rehoboth and kinda wanted to stop by, but we wanted to hurry up and get to OC MD. My husband found another one and I agreed to go. I was curious about their "best fast food fried chicken" advertisement. We got there at about 1:30ish and it's very crowded. Eventually we made our way to the machine to order. We split a half chicken: 1 breast, thigh, wing, and leg. It came with 1 biscuit but we ordered an extra one. It took a little while for it to come out but I think they just put in a fresh batch. We take it to the car and eat it and my husband had to go back because they forgot our extra biscuit. The mashed potatoes had a gravy that was pretty good and flavorful but the actual potatoes were blah. The chicken was way too salty. The flavor was ok and it was somewhat crunchy, but definitely not best fast food fried chicken, Popeyes is better. read more

so i use to go to this place to get gas save a few cents because eventually it would add up, the one guy that was working there actually gif.me not like a gif. gif. money from me had to go back in to get my 2 dollars and change back but he still didn't give the accurate changes & then he was going on asking for my snapchat i said no. Point is be careful whoever gets gas there or who is cashiering other ppl been ok or fine but sometimes its super awkward the one that gif. me or try to on money few cents short was a younger maybe younger black guy but we were talking about schools so maybe he get to go to one get out of whatever he wanted to talk to me about his living in salisbury so i told him to go to school or do something he wanted but seriously salisbury isn't always fully a good area. whole interaction was weird including the transaction for the accurate money even still being super nice then begin during after. this royal farms was a decent one to go to compared to others but still onestar. read more

We stopped here after playing mini golf before going back to the hotel. My boyfriend got a 3 piece fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and gravy, with an extra drumstick. They never gave us the extra drumstick (which was an extra $1.99!), and their food was super salty and disappointing. The store wasn't clean, and the overpowering smell of fried grease made me sick. Only stop for the gas because their prices were cheap, but skip out on the food here. read more

Went to the new Royal Farms store in Selbyville, Delaware, on 12/21/19 at appro. 2:00 pm. Rt. 54 Asked an employee to assist me with ordering food to go on the computer menu. Employee did do so. Ordered chicken sandwiches to go. Employee wrapped same in paper, loosely, not using a tape . When I got home about 4 minutes later I found the food had become unwrapped in the bag. Food was very cold. Employees seemed to be reluctant to assist customers and aloof. No thank you was offered. read more

I have to say that I often have the Wawa vs Sheetz debate up here in PA, but I'd like to discuss the Wawa vs Royal Farms debate. Because, and yeah, I'll say it... Royal Farms is better than Sheetz. Now, it's not better than Wawa in my mind, except for one thing... That chicken, man it really is good. I'm a fried chicken connoisseur, and while it may not be Popeye's or KFC good, it did do the trick for me. Royal Farms chose to do one thing well, and it succeeds. I eat at other RFs occasionally so am aware of what is normally offered. Took my family there Wednesday at 5pm to pick up a dinner. Horrible experience. Totally out of spicy chicken and spicy sauce, small soda cups and bags to carry order home in. Sandwiches were sloppily made and looked more like sliders than regular sandwiches. Worker had bad attitude like she wished she wasn't there and took it out on our order. Will not be returning to this RF. read more

Came here to try the famous Delaware chicken at a gas station. Yep, I said gas station for fried chicken. No doubt, this would not be a weekly thing for me.but the fried chicken is legit. I can't say that it is the best fast food chicken but it was certainly worth trying. They have tenders and wedges as well. A decent selection of sauces and one being called Chesapeake. Sounds interesting but they were out unfortunately. Good news is you can find 170 Royal Farms now if you want to try the chicken. Plus, this place has all the other things you look for such as chips ( cool flavors), sodas, candy etc...... read more

It took five minutes to pump one gallon of gas. All the other pumps were just as slow.

Only have one person working, even on a busy Saturday morning- this means no food service and overall terribly slow service for random gas station stuff RoFo food is so good and this is such a disappointment read more

Okay, this is a gas station, convenience store, fast food place. But they advertise that one of the big foodie magazines claim that they have the best fast food chicken in the business. Error, No. I went in and offered the three piece chicken strip, Western fries and roll meal. The "chicken strips" were literally hunks of breast meat, I'd say half a breast each. Now someone might say, why are you complaining? This is better than three chicken breast tenders. And if I were sitting down to a meal. I might agree. But I don't ad ordered what I did because O wanted to eat while I drove. Every time I started a new piece, I had to pull over, stop, dig into the box, and find a way to handle a chunk of chicken, not a dainty strip or tender. The coating was okay taste wise, but greasy. I went through three napkins on the first piece! Definitely not the best fast food chicken! Next, the western fries. These are potato wedges. Batter coated and fried crisp. At least that was what I thought they were supposed to be. They were in reality, a sodden mess, batter flaking off, not crispy at all. Just disgusting. The meal was $6.28 which seems a bit pricey for fast food. Can't recommend this place. read more

Worst royal farm ever!! I went in to get fountain Powerade and it was out. I told the cashier she said "I know" and didn't offer to fix it. I also needed to use the restroom . I ask where it was and she said the port a pot outside?????????? Ridiculous. I went back to the car and the gas was pumping a gallon in 5 minutes. Slow pumps, no restroom and poor service. Holly shit! The slowest service ever! There were 5 girls behind the counter, one person in front of us waiting for her order. It took 20+ minutes to get a sandwich. The girls' that worked there friend came over to order lunch 10 minutes after us, they gave each other heads up about his order and he left waaaay before we did. Heard about the fried chicken so we went in to get 16 pieces today for 4 of us. They only had about 6 pieces left. I tried calling first and no one answered the phone. so we drove down about 4 miles. The guys behind the counter first said it would take 10 minutes for more chicken. when we told him we wanted 16 pieces he said it would take an hour. SO, we walked out and drove to 83rd st. in Ocean City and did get our very tasty fried chicken at Royal farms. But would not go back to Fenwick Island. read more
