Large Royal farms- just needed to get gas and grab some energy drinks. Nice clean store!

Gas station itself is fine, clean, above average. The made to order food is absolutely awful though. I've tried a few different wraps for breakfast or lunch and every time it's legit the worst convenience store food I've ever had. A road trip is not complete without a stop at Royal Farms especially since they are so far and few between in the area. The store was super clean and staff was very friendly even in the wee hours of the morning. My initial stop was for coffee but if you know you know and the smell of the chicken was tickling my taste buds!!! After concocting my iced coffee, I made my way to the breakfast sammies and grabbed a chicken slider. Best decision ever!!! Chicken was hot, bread was soft ( it may have been a potato bun), it was just right!! I had to grab some honey too!!! Of course they have all the staple connivence store items so they are bound to have something your are looking for or you may find a new treat too!! Of course the worst Royal Farms I've ever been to is in Virginia. What the hell. I ordered a 3 leg meal. Was standing around with several other people while the guy preparing the chicken boxes kinda just stood there, looking perplexed. Finally get my box, get to my car and see I have a thigh and a leg. Two pieces of chicken for my 3 piece meal. Take it back in there and the guy's like "yeah that's my bad... I don't have anymore legs" If you're out of something, then say that and give me alternatives (Side note: why is the chicken place out of chicken at like 2pm?) Don't give me anything and I hope I don't notice. I don't like fried chicken thighs so I asked for tenders instead. Those were the driest chicken tenders I've ever had. I thought I was going to choke. Lesson learned: stick to the Royal Farms in Maryland on up. I added an extra star because I got gas with no issues and the guy manning the self-checkout was friendly. read more

They don't deserve a . I went there on 12/25/23 around 10 am because everywhere else was closed. I saw a sign that two sausage egg and cheese are for $6. I picked up two from the top shelf and I told the cashier that two sausage egg and cheese are for $6 because she was charging me individually. I went to my car and saw that the sandwiches were not what they advertised. I went back and told her that they are not sausage egg and cheese. She said, you have to pay for it while I gave her the receipt and explained to her. She said, open up your bag after I gave her both sandwich and the receipt. She said, what did you just steal? I told her to call her manager. I explained to her manager. She said I threw away the sandwich she was very disrespectful, nasty and rude. Her manager also treated me as I have stolen or I am a criminal. Obviously they are extremely unprofessional, racists, prejudiced, rude and low lives. They don't deserve to serve customers because they are nasty and insult customers that are not redneck . read more

Air pump just flatten my tire, so don't use that. Gas is .20 cents cheaper,,, like anywhere nearby. Workers don't like to help or answer questions. And they make you ring up your own items, unless you need cigarettes then you have to find someone to help, but wait they don't want to,, that's ok,,,,, Wawa is way better at customer service, thanks! read more

Just wanted to get some chicken but the person making the orders was slow as a turtle (he was in his 20s) mask hanging off his face and coughing. The assistant manager or whatever wasn't even wearing a mask either helping him since he was slow going. Wanted to complain but even customers were not wearing them and there is a sign on the door stating to wear one. Can't wait for the new one to open so I can go there. read more

I stopped by this gas station two days ago, fill in my gas tank (22 gallon vehicle). Just find out they over charged my card with $125. I understand the frustration of other customer, living under the present circumstances. Royal Farms needs to address this situation. read more

My goal, Order chicken! What a negative experience! It took multiple frustrating attempts to order 4 pieces and some mashed potatoes & gravy. I finally found the correct tiny button in the lower corner. I received the order printout took it to the self service check out paid and awaited my order. The completed orders when ready were announced by there number. The young lady's voice was soft and competed with the music over the P.A. As a hearing challenged person I had to pay close attention but I missed the first announcement. Then I struggled putting the items in the plastic bag that were in a pile. The only dispenser of bags was in use by a customer. Spilling the sealed gravy container on the floor and inverting the potato canister I made it out of the Store. The Positive . . . The chicken was delicious. I will pass on future business. I feel for those customers with severe hearing challenges. Maybe they will put in order number signage read more

Lady at the store on Sat was pretty snappy re how you order food...It's not like any steps or visuals are abundantly clear or visible at all. I'd just heard so much about this place and my town is gettin gone so wanted to see what the food is like. You have to go over there first. My family and I stopped quickly to get gas, water and use the restrooms. I decided to get some snacks. Looking around I saw they had WhiteClaw (which I have not tried.) so I got one. Don't worry, I'm not driving. Anyway- I was ringing my things up at the self check out, and of course WhiteClaw has alcohol in it so my ID needed to be checked. The attendant behind the counter was on her cell phone, texting. She told me "one minute." So that turned into a few minutes. I had to make a coughing noise to get her attention after standing there for a couple minutes and then she told me that "I'm good" and that I could go ahead and pay. I would give this establishment ONE star for bad customer service, the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it was really clean and neat. read more

Stopped in about a week ago on a drive from Richmond to Alexandria for gas and chicken. Gas was cheap and went in for Chicken that I haven't had in ages (used to go to Annapolis Royal Farms). Chicken took forever (they were making fresh and had run out) and I had already paid. I was internally freaking out waiting for chicken as I left my ten year old outside with my one year old to minimize COVID exposure but that is also risky. I didn't say anything to complain but I'm sure I looked annoyed as had been 15 min or so and I chicken. Must have been manager who proactively offered me a refund because she had seen me waiting so long. Was great customer service and then I got the awesome fresh chicken! read more

This places SUCKS!! DO NOT GET GAS HERE! They changed their pumps and now it puts a hold of up to $120 on your card per management. When it did this to my husband it wiped out our balance left till corporate can fix it. Store managers apparently don't know how to do their jobs when it comes to releasing holds on purchases. They give a bogus customer service phone number that tells you to report your complaints on line and a "store manager" will call you back. Well I just talked to her and got nowhere so there's that. Guess you have to have over $200 on your debit card in the middle of job losses and a pandemic to get gas to go to work these days. Go to 711 or Wawa not this new out of town bs moving in here. read more

I NEVER leave yelp reviews. Usually I feel they're biased, and I've been coming to this Royal Farms since they've opened, so I may be as well. But, here I am, fractured knee on crutches and without asking, I have an associate bolt over to me and start helping carry my drinks. She then, walked me to self check-out, scanned my items AND bagged them for me. When I thanked for getting them bagged and easier to hold while on crutches, she laughed and said '"We're not done yet, honey!" She, then, proceeds to walk me to the doors, holds them open, walks me to my car, helps open my door, and patiently waits for me to finagle my way in the driver seat before politely handing me my bag. Used to love this place and the ease of getting gas by using their loyalty card. However, it takes them several days to remove the money from your account. So, if you have the misfortune of having a payment returned it will cost you an additional $50.00 regardless of the circumstances. Had a payment returned due to my paycheck posting to my account due to the holidays. Disappointed in the fact that they have a "don't really care attitude" and "I want my money now". One would think they would say ok; first time we will charge $25.00 or wave the fee for the first offense. Nope. $50.00 or your account will be frozen till payment is received. Needless to say, I will only use them if it's a real emergency. I understand everyone wants their money however, you could have a little leeway in how your representative's handle things on a case by case basis. I feel the way you have things set up now is portraying this company as "money hungry". read more
