CDC has a strong community where older dancers encourage the younger dancers. Teachers are exceptional! CDC encourages and helps dancers find what they are good at and supports and fosters ways to grow children! This is a special place! There are three performance companies for the more serious dancer and recreation classes of genres for those style dancer. CDC"s gift is that they have performance companies and strong technique which has a blessing for my daughter. Thank you CDC for all you do for our dancers! Get ready to sweat!…read more My friends and I stopped in for a class on a Saturday Morning as part of my bachelorette festivities. The dance studio is clean and inviting. The music was on point. So in my mind, I envisoned myself twirling around a pole gracefully ala Jesse Spano (Elizabeth Berkley- but she'll always be Jesse from Saved By the Bell to me) from Showgirls. However, I am apparently not graceful, limber or fit! Seriously- this class was a real workout, and the "pole play" is not as easy as it looks. Even the "floor work" was challenging, but sexy! My friends and I were all sore the next day. I could feel the burn in my quads, biceps, abs and rump. Although, I will admit it was one of the funnest workouts I've ever done. We tried a dance studio close to home, and while the people were friendly- I felt that they tried to pack too many dance forms into one class leaving the kids lacking in developing any real skill or retention, painfully obvious at the dance recital. Even though she turned 5 just after the deadline and was 4 in the 4's class for a very short time, I don't resent as the previous commenter does, this choice. Schools have to have a cut off somewhere, and I respect their decision. I am so pleased with the switch. My daughter is gaining skill and learning ballet consistently. The whole 45 minutes of her 4 year old class is ballet, and the kids have a higher retention because of the repetition and the dedication to just ballet during this time. The teachers are very skilled. TYB also does a great job incorporating their older dancers in with supporting younger classes. I am really happy with our time here so far and know my daughter will continue to grow in both confidence and skill here at TYB.

My oldest daughter has been enrolled in Acro, Ballet and Jazz and excelled tremendously in her skills during that time. She attended a summer dance program with a friend and excelled beyond the expectations of the teacher although it was only a week and I know it was due to her time spent at Stage Door. Chasta and Willis are very invested in developing a quality and nurturing environment for all the students and it showed on all levels of my daughters' participation in the studio. We also participated in the Christmas parade and the end of year recital and it was extremely organized even though there were hundreds of participants. Like many families, we experienced a few transitional bumps at first, but the team was incredibly patient and supportive throughout. They never made us feel like a burden, and instead welcomed us with understanding and kindness. Ms. Rose was especially helpful during the enrollment process, making everything clear and smooth. Since Ms. Tawanna joined the team, she has been a fantastic communicator and listener. Her knowledge and genuine care for the children and families really stand out. She has created nothing but chaos in this school for parents and students. She has un-enrolled at least 2 students for no reason, leaving parents to try and find daycare with no notice. She did not work with the students or parents, gave no notice and just un-enrolled them. This puts parent's jobs in jeopardy. I have seen her very combative, especially with fathers. She is rude on the phone and does not want to hear anything. As a single father, this is troubling, and that is why I pulled my child. I miss the great directors Shamequa and Jessica. They got to know the parents and the children. I would stay away from this daycare.
