I am very happy I went to this place yesterday on a whim. I just walked in and it was empty so I asked for a 60 minute foot massage and he took me right away. It was not just a foot massage - they soak your feet for about 15 minutes while doing so massage your neck shoulders lower back and then start the arms the neck scalp and cover you with a soft blanket make you comfy with lots of pillows - then the foot : leg massage starts mine was so relaxing I felt asleep multiple times. It was quiet and everyone was nice and pleasant I can't see any reason not to go back or give a great tip. It was $45 for a full 60 minutes - and they don't cheat you for one minute . Never again. The full body massage wasn't bad, but the foot massage wasn't as good. They could have had 3 loyal customers but they were so rude with demanding a certain amount in tip at the end that it left us not wanting to go back. There are other places save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else, there are other places that have the same price but won't DEMAND a certain amount in tip, we almost felt like they weren't going to let us walk out if we didn't tip the amount they wanted. I've been a frequent customer to this place and I have always tipped well, 20% no less!!! My last visit left a horrible taste in my mouth and I don't think I could go back! As usual I tipped 20%; the owner had the audacity to state that I must tip more!!! Never in my life have I been told to literally pay more as a tip!!! The owner and Michael were speaking in Mandarin right after I tipped him; he was upset with his 20% tip and the owner demanded I pay more!!! I like this place but this last visit I was not happy with their service. I asked for an hour body massage, the massage was going good but not all my body was massaged. The masseuse ran out time and did not massage my feet which is part of the service. When I asked he said oh you were to tense in your shoulder so I spent the time there. The problem was he didn't tell me his treatment plan and made the decision himself. Then the front desk lady came in and rushed me out of the room while I was still on the table. She said I needed to request more time and told me she had other customers. I asked if I could get the foot massage in the front, she said no and rushed me out the room. Interesting enough there was only one customer in the lobby. The front desk lady was very rude. Although I didn't get the complete massage I still paid and tipped. I am on the fence on whether to return or not, but their customer service is horrible. read more

After my third visit, I could confidently say that I will definitely be back. I've always been very loyal to CoCo Spa in Flushing, NY. But spending lots of time in Jersey lately, I've decided that it was only right to find a massage place that is closer. Full body massages are my thing, although this place also specializes in foot massages, facials and mani/pedis. This place is pretty busy, so make sure that you call for an appointment or you could be turned down or waiting for some time. This establishment is definitely very nicely decorated and clean, which just makes the ambiance very relaxing and enjoyable. There are rooms for single massages and couple massages. I always come here with my boyfriend so it's great that we don't have to be in separate rooms. When you come in, a lady will walk you into a room where you will strip down to your underwear. They have a little cabinet where you can hang your clothes and bag and keep your phone/wallet/keys safe. Then you will lay face down and they'll ask you if you're ready before coming in. The full body massage starts with a dry rub, then with lotion as most places will do it. They spend a majority of time on your back, which I prefer and the lady asked me whether the strength was okay throughout my massage, to ensure that she wasn't hurting me or not using enough strength. Do not be alarmed if they pull down your panties and work on your booty! (That was a first for me, but apparently there are many knots on your bum as well). They also spend a few minutes on your foot which I never got in any other full body massage and they finished off with a head massage. One thing that I found unique to this place is that they used an ointment that has a cooling sensation, and I was told that it is supposed to help the muscle/spot heal (this feels surprisingly good). Oh, they also have hot stones if you get the package deal !! (I highly recommend this, as no massage is complete without hot stones IMO). After the massage was over, I felt very relaxed (and sleepy). The lady poured a glass of water for me to drink which I thought was very nice of them... I always feel very dehydrated after massages for some reason. I was of course, very sore for the remainder of the day and the day after but I felt much more relaxed and my body was loosened during the days following my massages. They have package deals here, such as buy 5 get 1 free.. so definitely take advantage of that because I know I will be! read more

Well the massage itself was just okay but I did not appreciate not being told in advance that my card would be getting swiped an extra $5 because I used a credit card. It's common courtesy to be notified beforehand. Nor are there signs anywhere notifying you of their policy. Also, I tip 20% on services and I don't appreciate being forced to pay 25-30% more. Especially when you just pocketed an extra $5. I should report this to the BBB. Lastly, the noise level here cancels any notion that you are in for a relaxing time. Long story short. Great place great service. I was so pleased with my body and foot massage. The place is clean, relaxing and smells great. Whenever we are in the area we WILL be back. Me and my boyfriend were in the area and decided we wanted to get a massage. Found this place on yelp and decided on trying it out. They open at 10am but I called at 9 asking if they would allow us to come in earlier. To my surprise she answered and told me she would do 9:45. Anyways we told her we wanted a 30min body massage. She showed us to a dimly lit room and told us to take everything off but our underwear. Then her and a guy came in and he massaged me and she massaged my boyfriend. First they cover you with a blanket & massage you on top of it so that you start warming up and getting comfortable. Oh the bed is HEATED, felt great! Then they bring the blanket down and massage your arms and back with lotion and oil. It felt amazing it was so quiet and relaxing. They also make sure you're ok with the pressure they're putting on. His hands felt great didn't even feel like hands massaging me! At the end they grab a warmed towel and lay it on your back and then clean the oil off. After the body massage was done we decided we wanted a foot massage too. She said she could have done it on the beds but we had already come out of the room so we sat in these comfortable chairs. They leaned them back and placed the pillows behind you and made sure you were comfortable. Oh and they tucked you in a warm blanket. We got a 30 min foot massage and she told us to close our eyes and relax and listen to the peaceful music. The foot massage was great. Afterwards they served us cups of water and then while I waited for my bf to get cash for the tip she offered me green tea as well. It's clean, the female owner is nice, and my wife and I could tell that her and her husband were excited to execute a likely long awaited business plan, and in the unsaturated market of Rutherford! But, that just may be all they were prepared to do. Having hit about seven massage places repeatedly while living in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, both my wife and I are well skilled in massage receiving. We went in to Royal Spa for full body massages, and the owner/masseuse and her husband/masseuse (being the only two masseuses currently) are extremely inexperienced. I was hesitant to write a review because I hate harming new and small businesses (and I also watch South Park), but I'm actually fearing the possibility of physical damage they may cause due to their inexperience. In post-game, my wife and I were discussing what type of massage they were going for... "was it tui na? was it qigong? or was it just useless pain?" I'm unsure what class may have taught them both to focus on what appeared to be a spine, kidney and poor neck massage; but we both came out in much more pain than when we went in, and mine persists around my tail bone through today (two days later). There was literally zero finesse in their "routine," the stones were too hot, my wife's back was left uncovered for a minute or two while the way-to-damn-hot stones were being heated. And don't get me wrong... i've been man-handled by women twice my size; this was not that. The oddest thing, immediately after my wife and I exchanged looks of disappointment after the masseuses left the room, while we were paying, the owner asked if we wanted to do the six-pack deal (six massages for the price of five). I really did get the odd feeling of excitement, mixed with a lot of over-confidence in their product and... hey... maybe they give great foot massages... just the body massage might not even be fighting for the worst, but might just have taken the place of the worst massage I've ever had. I really hate being this guy, and I really wish them the best of luck in calming their confidence, and reconsidering their strategy. I think they have a long way to go, including several more hours of training, and/or hiring a masseuse that knows what they're doing. Omg so I came to the area to get a wax and saw this place across the street. I did the 45 dollars foot massage with scrubs. Mounia was my massage therapist. She is one of the most humble, nice, and loving person I have ever met in my life. She is a sweetheart and the massage was so great that I pretty much fell asleep. When I left and was walking to my car I felt like I was walking on clouds. The only downfall was the guy that works there came out and told us to be quiet which I thought was rude because we were not talking that loud but other than that I will definitely recommend this place and ask for Mounia. I will be back every 2 weeks. If I could go every week I would but I have a two year old, so you know how that goes. However, this place "requires" to give a minimum of 15 dollars for a 1hr massage which is insane to even state that there is a minimum. I always tip 20% and even more for exceptional service. My massage was so painful I had to see my chiropractor the next morning. I was in so much discomfort. I told the Masseuse multiple times to please not be so rough. Will never go back. Had a massage 3 days ago and I'm still in pain. Can barely lift anything with a little weight with my right hand because my right arm is so sore. My neck and head are sore too. I told the massage therapist that she was working too deep, but she didn't let up. I was in a lot of pain during the hour and after about 30 mins I just wanted to leave. I stayed in the hope that the massage was beneficial. I've had many shiatsu massages, but none quite so deep. The therapist should listen to the customer. I'll find somewhere else for my next massage. A place where they have doors, not curtains to the rooms, and walls that go all the way up to the ceiling. The 90-minute strong deep tissue and reflexology massage I asked for and received is by far the best (and most reasonable) I've had east of the Hudson -- at par, if not better than what I've had in Chinatown. I went here for one specific area and the guy kept doing everything BUT the area. I even called ahead to talk to them about it & they said oh yeah no problem! They even talked me into an hour massage too. During the massage, I kept telling the guy to focus on the area. He kept laughing and saying he would, but never did. They all very knowledgeable and intuitively work through releasing knots and aches off the body. Josephine makes you feel very comfortable and will make sure to take care of you once you are at her spa. They will not hurry you off and instead will make each moment of your worth while. She and her staff offers all levels of massage experience, whether one is looking for gentle and relaxing experience or is looking to release any knots or muscles spams. The staff is friendly and the place looks very nice. I went in for an hour massage. 30 min body and 30 min foot massage. The foot massage was wonderful however I didn't care too much for the body massage. My friend said the same thing about her masseuse. They are very rough on you and i told them to ease up but they were still a bit rough. I don't recommend the body massage at all. The price wasn't bad. $50 for the hour but when you go to pay, the front desk girl takes a piece of hand written paper and shoves it in front of you saying "we work very hard here and the tip for a one hour massage is $15". Of course I was going to tip but $15 on a $50 massage is a bit insane. I normally tip about $10 which I think is reasonable even though I wasn't crazy about half of the massage. And also, if you go to pay with a credit card, they will charge you an extra 7%. So I recommend you bring cash with you!
