We stayed in the Tin Cup cabin. Absolutely love this setup. The location is nice. Right off the main road. Downfall, you do hear road noise but not much at all after sunset. The sunset view is spectacular! The amenities and decor are great. I would love to come back during the winter and stay a few nights. I love the contactless experience and we had no issues with check in. This cabin was missing a privacy screen on the side that faces the neighbors in the living room is about the only thing I would change. Definitely book this place you won't regret it. Spike buck is probably a better option to minimize road noise and the view from corner pocket looks way better! read more

This place is so cute! My daughter and I stayed one night in the small pine cabin. We weren't at the property long enough to enjoy many amenities but they were available - fire pits, yard games, etc. the property was very well maintained. The bed was comfy. My only very small complaint is the swamp cooler was pretty loud but it beats being HOT! The bath house was nothing fancy but tidy and had everything you'd need. The property was not busy when we were there so we only saw one other person in the bath house. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. It definitely beats a run down hotel. We walked across 50 to have dinner at White Water. Side note, I accidentally left my air pods behind and they actually sent them back to me (I paid shipping of course). I was so pleasantly surprised - I thought they were long gone. So they have honest staff also. Great place! read more

Super cool idea IF you are not from the area. BUT not remote or even quiet. Situated on the highway. Trucks passing all Night, bar across the street was nice for some music we could hear but traffic was loud. Very expensive! 259 for a tent with hotel room amenities. Still walking to toilet and you must bring everything else. Would reconsider after having to muster up food and other supplies. BEWARE of contract. My nephew accidentally tore a hole in the tent (fell backwards into tent being a kid) we got a 1087$ charge . The tent already had patches. AND the rental contract stated up to 500$ . They said they brought down labor but that was basically Velcro and stretching, not that complicated of a structure. Total for overnight camping trip was 1800$$ Way too expensive would NEVER do again and will tell anyone who asks. "Did it and would never again throw 700$ away for 2 tents for an overnight trip. Better off to going to Walmart buy a tent and throw away before you leave. Royal Gorge Cabins......Edit your contract to reflect tent wall damage! And move desk away from tent wall so rips don't happen. My kid mistake should be a learning for you so other folks don't get hit like this. read more

My family stayed in the Corner Pocket double king cabin. It was amazing! The view of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range was spectacular. The cabin is decorated so nicely and has everything you would need. There's an indoor outdoor fireplace that came in handy when we played cards outside. The cabin was super clean and the amenities were upscale. I would highly recommend this place! read more

From pre-check in to check out this place is awesome. Called for info on check on and Manager was pleasant, easy to understand and very accommodating. Let us check in a bit early which was great. And since weather was crazy and snowy, they upgraded us to a double cabin for ease of access. The cabin is incredible. Every nook of this place is well thought out. A family could easily stay here for a week and have all the amenities of home. Kitchen was beautiful and had all cooking supplies you could need and with the outdoor grill on our patio, cooking an amazing dinner for my husband was cozy and comfortable. We will be back to spend more time here in the summer because the views are incredible. read more

Volatile staff! They made some horrible customer service decisions, & even if this wasn't a customer service situation, made some horrible choices in how to treat other human beings. You can really tell a lot about someone by how they act toward you in an emergency or in a high-stress situation. Please read on before choosing to stay here. THE GOOD: The tents were cute & nice quality. The grounds were well maintained. The bathrooms & showers were nice. THE BAD: Right across the highway are HELICOPTER TOURS every 20-30 minutes, with a lot of helicopter idling. & @ night you have loud semi-trucks! There is no privacy between tents or camping spots as well. THE UGLY: On July 26th, there was a freak hail storm. You can google it. The hail was the size of pennies. Naturally, we were concerned for our cars & the damages this hail could incur. One of us owns a Tesla. So, we made a quick & calculated decision to use the duvets, some towels, & a sheet from our tents. We figured we would dry them in the guest laundry room on the grounds & then ask the management afterward if they thought they were damaged, & if they decided they were, we would pay for the damages. Damages to linens $$$ outweighs damages to a Tesla. During the storm, the manager Andy barged into the tent (not even bothering to knock & certainly not noticing that one of us was changing into dry clothes @ the moment) & started freaking out which included yelling & swearing in front of four little kids (9, 5, 2, & a baby) about the linens outside on the Tesla, extremely angry that we had used them that way. He took pictures of the car. He had other staff Amanda & Joe with him as well, & would look @ them & say "how f*ing stupid" STILL IN EARSHOT of the kids & adults. He threatened to call his lawyer & sue us which was 100% inappropriate because of the waiver we signed saying we agreed to cover any damages! No reason to cuss your customers out for damages, you just charge their card! We never raised opposition to paying for the linens. Andy didn't even let us, he just barged right in & started cussing us out in front of the kids. He eventually stormed off & told Amanda to leave the linens on the car, because we "ruined" them & said they were ours now. After this astonishing display of character, we decided we should dry the duvets so we have something to use that night. We went & put one duvet in the washer & one in the dryer. The dryer ate our $1.50, another cherry on top of this wonderful event. We decided to go into the office & ask for our $1.50 back, only to be confronted with Amanda who was riled up & ready to go, itemized bill of the linens we damaged in hand! The bill incorrectly included 8 towels (we used only 6). We still don't understand how towels are "ruined" when they get wet. For that matter, the duvet's tags say to NOT dry clean them, & to only wash & dry them-we have pics of the tags. Please note, while we were in the office @ this time, someone on staff took the duvets away from us out of the laundry machines. In the ensuing argument about their treatment of us, we used raised voices (never threatening anyone or cursing @ anyone, unlike Andy) as a person might in this situation. Amanda said heatedly that we "do not treat her that way" meaning we can't talk to her with raised voices, to which we brought up the question: Why can't we use raised voices with her, but the manager Andy can cuss us out & yell @ us in front of children & that is all fine & dandy? To this, she said "reason went out the window when you decided to ruin our property", & to that we said so us damaging the linens means "reason went out the window" & now Andy & the staff can just treat us however they want? IT ESCALATED FROM HERE! Stayed in a glamping tent and it was beautiful. The location is close to everything you would want (Royal Gorge Park, train, restaurants) and the bathrooms and showers were very nice. We had some neighbors that were fighting with each other and the tents are very close so that made for a long night. The sprinkler ran a lot the 1st night and kept hitting the tent so it woke us a few times otherwise it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. read more

If you're looking for a balance between camping and staying at a hotel, this is the place. All of the comforts of home mixed with the outdoors. It was a great experience. The site was super clean, pre-treated wood for an easy fire and the gorgeous Mountain Views in the distance. Bath house was clean and had plenty of room to do your business. My only complaint was the obvious road noise from the site grounds. There was a live band at one of the restaurants Saturday night and it was obnoxiously loud. Wonderful experience! We did a glamping tent and it was so nice! I knew it was near the road so we brought a sound machine to turn on for a good nights sleep. We did a double queen for our family of four. The kids loved it! The tetherball and community games were a hit with them. The community shower/bath was super clean, the showers were hot, and there is a place to wash dishes and do laundry. There was rarely anyone else in the community bathroom so it almost felt private. If you love the sound of idling helicopters, this place is great! If you love listening to semi engine brakes at 2am this place is awesome! Mens Toilets we're also clogged and full of crap too which was awesome! Best of all we had quarter size hail so in an attempt to protect my $80k Tesla I used some towels and blankets to vehicle from damage. Weasealy little owner came into my tent (without knocking) and started cursing at me in front of my 2 , 4 and 9 year old. Which was also cool! I even said I'd be happy to pay for the blankets, which is standard practice at any hotel or inn. Paid 125 for each comforter, then they tried to keep the blankets I just bought? They said I ruined them because they need to be dry cleaned, which is odd because the tags says do not dry clean, wash in cold water... I guess reading is hard. Funniest thing is them telling us we ruined the towels because they got wet and they left the unit. I guess when you shower you can't bring the towels with you, or use them to dry? So to sum up, if you need an overnight place to stay because you want to raft or Zipline and you bring ear plugs, and I guess your own towels, this place is fantastic. The management here however have the intelligence of barn yard animals. read more

Buyer beware, I rented a "cabin" from their expedia listing which had all pics of luxury cabin's, But once I got there I find out I reserved a double wide trailer, It was a nice for double wide but none the less it wasn't what I paid for and when I tried to talk to the lady at the counter Amy she was indifferent to the whole situation and told me there was pics of the double wide on the listing after going back and looking out of 95 pictures on the expedia pics I did notice there where three pics one of the couch,fireplace and bathroom but none of the bedrooms ,or the kitchen or the outside of the double wide nothing to indicate that I would be reserving a double wide. The listing is very deceiving it's most all pics of the luxury cabins even though Amy told me those have been booked for months, So why would you post mostly pictures of cabins that aren't available. They are intentionally deceiving people with the pictures. The only reason I stayed was because everything else was booked. The only thing worse than not getting what I thought I was reserving was Amy's lack of concern ,She didn't at least offer a discount or anything. Bottom line I paid over $1100 for two nights in a double wide trailer "Echo House" ,Make sure you're getting what you paying for before reserving. read more

The most amazing Hidden Gem - tucked away with the most beautiful surroundings. The cabin was absolutely spectacular; from the decor, numerous amenities, comfortable linens, hair and body care, indoor/outdoor gas fireplace, furniture and comfort. We have stayed in numerous places within the states and this location/property was a definite top contender. The staff was extremely friendly and made myself and my family feel most welcome. The cabin was not a 'cabin' at all - rather a distantly decorated and highly attractive home. There was a helicopter tour facility close by but we never heard a single noise from inside the home. Close to Royal Gorge Park, train, restaurants and stores. The "Glamping' tents looked beautiful as well. Please disregard the prior negative comments and make your own decision. I would certainly hate for this beautiful place/facility to face negativity due to pompous and self absorbed individuals. read more

Stayed at the Tin Cup cabin (single king bed), which by far exceeded our expectations! I'm writing this the night we got here, because we were that impressed with the friendly check-in, the high-end design and materials of the cabin, the landscaping, gorgeous views, and the outdoor double patio with a two way gas fireplace. I was hesitant to book this place (staying one night for the Santa train) partly due to the price and only one review (5 star), but I'm glad I ended up taking the risk. Seriously impressed with the materials and craftsmanship, that I WANT this cabin on a piece of property in the mountains! I highly recommend this place, and I hope that it's not booked the next time we decide to come to Royal Gorge. read more

we stayed in a glamping queen sized cabin with my daughter and I was very impressed. the beds are incredibly comfortable (and I'm 8 months pregnant!), the facility was clean and the views were amazing. the staff stopped one evening just to chat with us and check in on us. additionally as well, i think we all worry about shared bathroom spaces but thankfully the facility was very very well maintained. we had one small issue with the sprinkler system which they responded to quickly and fairly. Overall it was a great experience. I would definitely go again. The only downside was that it was right off the highway and the glamming tents were relatively close to one another. But staff was excellent and the tents were great, plus it's a perfect location if you want to spend the whole weekend at the royal gorge. Definitely recommend, especially if you have kids. read more

We stayed in a glamping tent, which is very cute and comfortable, with comfortable bed and nice deck. The site is very nice too, with great views of the Wet Mountains. Service was good too. But these are way over-priced considering you don't have a private bath. The showers were clean and adequate, but clearly the designers hadn't thought much about guest needs. There was nowhere to put soap, etc. and you couldn't control the temperature. It was scalding hot when I first stepped in--the staff was very helpful in adjusting it, though. The sinks have only hot water that can't be adjusted either. The location is somewhat lacking because it's right on the highway, and you really can't walk anywhere. It even felt dangerous crossing the highway to go to the restaurant. Restaurant choices nearby are seriously lacking and there isn't even a convenience store. Some propane grills for guest use would be great too. It was also ironic that they ask you to conserve water, yet were running their sprinklers several times a day on some new grass that shouldn't even be planted in this climate; xeriscape is the way to go in such a dry area. read more
