Gorgeous hotel dating back 150 years. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel!

I love this hotel. It's elegant and has a classic European charm. It's like a very sweet old lady and belongs in a romantic comedy from the sixties. The staff is amazing especially Giorgio who works in the fabulous restaurant. Order the Branzino - it's mind blowing. read more

Absolutely awful business. I attempted to book online and received an error message and ultimately gave up. No charges were filed to my card at the time and I received no email confirmation of booking. Later during my trip (while at the other hotel that I had successfully booked), I received a notification on my phone that the hotel had charged my card. I re-checked my email to be sure that I hadn't made a mistake and again, there was no booking confirmation and no evidence at all that the room had ever been booked. I reached out to them and they said I was charged the full price for the room because that is their no-show policy. I explained to them what had happened with the website and that I had no records of a booking to which they replied that I should have canceled. I again explained that I could not cancel a room for which I had no evidence of ever booking on my end. They repeatedly told me that it's my fault for not canceling despite refusing to acknowledge that I had no confirmation of this hotel at all. Who knows what other nightmares await if you book with these awful people. read more

My check-in was the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. The room was disgusting. Wall paper was peeling off the walls. The base of the bathroom door was falling apart. The bathroom wall bubbling and crumbling, the door to the room was scratched at the base from animals trying to get out the hardwood flooring was full of separations. The bathroom ceiling tiles were hanging down. The base wall molding was destroyed and partially missing. The room had a foul odor. The furniture was old, dilapidated and scratched. The pool is absolutely disgusting, mold growing on the seat cushions, large areas of missing tiles, mold growing on the rock outcroppings... The Wood decking is uneven, unstable and rotting. The furniture is dirty. This is honestly, the WORST pool I have ever seen. The only nice things in this hotel are the bartenders/waiters and the SPA. The waitstaff and room Service attendants are impeciably trained. Overall, this hotel gets one star, and that is only because zero stars is not an option. STAY far AWAY from this place... read more

Whoever wrote the first bad review must have been in the wrong hotel. My room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the sea, impeccably spotless and housekeepers & bellman who were ecstatic to bring a softer pillow or luggage stand. Giorgio fussed over me like a mother hen in the restaurant & every course was perfect. Staff was wonderful; formal without being stuffy. Prices very reasonable for the excellent stay. read more
