I tried some of the fermented offerings from their cold case and picked up a few sauces I read about in a cookbook I own. I wish I knew more! I think I have met two owners and they were so nice, the last time I was there I got a piece of fresh Burmese bread and it was new to me too. I love trying new foods and learning about different places and I'm so glad that I can go here to keep exploring.

I don't know what language the workers were speaking but I don't think it was Hmong, Vietnamese, or Thai. There are some Cambodian goods here too. Whatever, they have some very hot peppers and lots of groceries that I'm not sure what they are but I love shopping in a place like this. Good destination while waiting for your food at the Sri Lankan restaurant across the parking lot, you know you just can't rush Sri Lankans.

In all seriousness there is a rotating selection of Asian vegetables, they are seasonal and fresh. There are a lot of spices and condiments that I am sure are typical in daily Nepalese cooking. The sign said Oriental Market on a rather non-descript little white building. The Hangul written above it gave it away as a Korean market (or at least Korean-owned), so I stopped by to have a look-see. It's a tiny mom-pop shop with crowded shelves full of product (and a leaky roof). The owners were friendly and helped me find ingredients to make a Korean dish, and the wife went so far as to offer her daughter's phone number in case I ran into trouble making the dish...lol Out of all the different Asian shops I've visited, this is the only one that didn't have a strong and/or unpleasant odor to it as soon as you walk in the door. I've only recently started exploring Korean cuisine, so I have no idea if their stock is varied enough or specialized enough for what you need, but it's certainly worth your time to visit if you're looking around.

They don't have fresh produce (at least not recently when I've been in), but their freezer section is large and they have many pantry items as well as some kitchenware (rice cookers, chopsticks, etc.). My staples at Seoul Market are kimchi, gochujang, tteok, japchae noodles, snacks, and frozen items. The owner is super kind and friendly. I recommend using an app like Google translate to take photos of items if you're not super familiar with Korean ingredients, as many packages don't have any English on them. Prices here seem a little high, but I don't really mind since I love supporting this small store. There's always something interesting to find at Seoul Market!
