Disclaimer: The son of my wife's first cousin works there - - Jeffery. Picture this: It's 6:00 PM on a Friday evening & we can walk about 14 minutes (3/4 of a mile) or take a Grab Car 15 minutes through the streets of Makati to get to the restaurant. We decided to take a Grab. MISTAKE!!! What the app estimated at a 15 minute ride turned out to be a slow 45 minutes ride. Was it worth it? Yup!!! There are five floors to the restaurant: Floors 1 & 2 are the dining area. Floor 3 is the sports bar with 2 pool tables. Floor 4 is the function room. Floor 5 is the "Jeepney Bar"; here they have belly-dancing & midget dancing - - we missed that, but there's next time. To boot, there is an elevator that takes up y to the top. We have never eaten Indian Food before, so we asked Jeffery to help out. After much debate, we decided on the following: Prawns Curry: prawns are good sized, not giant, & the curry is very tasty - - try it on top of some basmati rice. Mixed Vegetable Curry: it's not as saucy as the Curry Prawns. It's also very good. Prawn Biryani: rice, prawns, & spices served in a clay pot. Very good. Garlic Naan: simple spiced flat bread. Outstanding. Afghani Chicken: the best chicken I've eaten in the Philippine this trip!!! The best, no questions about it. Taste is great & the chicken is so moist. Wow!!! After the meal, Jeffery introduced us to the Chef & we let him know it was the best. Furthermore, we're on a low salt diet & nothing tasted salty at all. They do give you 3 dipping sauces: tamarind (great), mint (good), red hot sauce (it's hot!!!). Because this was our first time having Indian food, we were hesitant - - we worried for no good reason. Been craving something different from the usual and found this gem on Google maps. Didn't disappoint. The location is close to all the hotels. The ambiance is friendly and probably looks romantic at night because of the lights. The food was delectable and the portions are shared by me and my husband. The service is nothing short of amazing. Holy cow! The best Indian food I had in my life! When my Indian husband said that we should try this place in Manila, I laughed and said why would we try Indian cuisine in Philippines?!? But when he said that it's one of the 16 best restaurants in Makati, I thought sure, we can try it. I had Indian food in India, in China, I had it in many different cities in the US, but this place outranks them all. We had butter chicken with fish tikka masala and butter naan. Everything was cooked to perfection, even the naan was excellent. The masala tea was very good as well. If we have a chance, we will be back here for at least one more time. People have mixed reviews about this place, however I am quite pleased with what I have had here. Manila has yet to bring in better Indian food, but this place does not disappoint my palate. I love the appetizers in Aloo Chaat & Papri Chaat, while the garlic Naan goes well with most of the savory dishes. For those new to Indian cuisine, hit the Butter Chicken, then go for Rogan Josh for your lamb option. The tikkas are good, but I'm not the usual fan. Malai Kofta should be taken solo, as its drowned out by other flavorful dishes. Desserts: Love the warm Gulab Jamun & 3-flavor Kulfi. I have only tried 10% of their menu. Need to come back. The food was a little bland and not very good. Another issue is the menu, very few pictures of the dishes and little description of what they are. Unless you are familiar with Indian cusine you have no idea what you are ordering which happen to me. We oredered 2 dishes, saffron rice, two breads and two drinks and walked out owing a little under 1,800 php, not a god value. Indian cuisine is a rare find in the Philippines despite the relatively large number of Indian nationals and people of Indian ancestry in Manila. This is why the Royal Indian Curry House or RICH is a pleasant treat as they serve a multitude of delicious dishes. They have mint, tamarind and chili (pure chili) sauces to place on their papads, there variants of naan, the regular, the garlic flavoured one which is a bit crispy and the cheese flavoured one which is really loaded with a lot of cheese. Do get the tandoori platter, the fish curry, the panir and the chicken tikka malai. In case you do put too much chili sauce on anything, don't deprive yourself of their lassi which is very flavourful as well. Also, it's best to have a reservation on the weekends. read more

We originally planned to come here for dinner but ended up having dinner at another place. We did save room for dessert and a drink. We ordered gulab jamun for dessert and 2 San Miguel lights. The gulab jamun was average. What really bothered us was the 20% added on to our bill for taxes and service fees. The foods good- I had a superb mutton kofta. The meat had been well dressed and served. The beer is warm, and the glasses are warmer. The staff are trying to please but just say yes to every question, which make getting what you really want impossible. The garlic bread was very good. read more

My friends and I chose this restaurant primarily for as it was open all evening on NYE, which is quite uncommon in Manila. Once there, the first couple of orders were incorrectly served - I'd put that down to the rush of NYE rush. Once the captain realized their mistakes, she did her best to make amends and then on the experience and service completely turned round the corner. Great food! I have been in search of an authentic Indian restaurant - and I have found it!! Every single dish that we ordered was amazingly good! We ordered so much I can't even remember (but scroll through the photos that I uploaded lol!) the staff is very attentive, the restaurant was nice and clean and was able to host our party of 12 comfortably. It's actually a 3-4 story building, second floor is part of the restaurant, the 3rd floor is a bar (which many people in when we checked it out) and the last floor had another food place with hookahs and two billiard tables! We spent a lot of time eating then surprisingly spent more type upstairs playing pool. Only complaint I have would be the price of the food, it may be a it pricey for some people (300-800php range) for each dish. But their spices and the quality of need and vegetables they use is definitely worth every peso in my wallet!! Hahaha! Probably won't go back here again. The food was decent. Not really great like the spot.ph articles state. That site's reviews seem to be dictated by whomever pays for a good review, or they've just never had real Indian food. The big turn off was the service. We were the only party in there, yet it took 10 minutes to get a drink I asked for. I had to remind our waitress because the staff were too busy talking among themselves. That was their main priority. The girl who brought the mango lasses dropped them down hard on the table. Our waitress gave me the bill by hitting me on the shoulder with it.
