So I have to admit that I'm not a constant user of dry cleaning. However, my experience with Royal was super smooth, no hassle, so I will definitely be using them again. I dropped off two dresses (at the drop off window, which is so clutch) that were dry clean only, right before the winter holidays, and they took the clothes, told me they'd be ready in two days! Again, not a cleaner connoisseur, but the turn around was amazing. When I went to pick them up, I gave them my slip, told them my last name, and in 2 seconds, the lady had my clothes, put them in my car and told me the total. My entire time spent at this place with drop off and pick up was probably less than 4 minutes! Thanks Royal Cleaners--see you next time! read more

I took two suits in to be dry cleaned yesterday. they were done today by 2 pm! there is a lot of construction and I feel bad for the owner. I'm sure it's hurt her business but she was very pleasant. By the way the suits were cleaned beautifully! If you have some things you have been waiting to have cleaned..consider this locally owned Dry-cleaner. This is the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. My husband took an expensive dry clean only dress in for me. I wore it for 6 hours at a wedding. He was told the bottom was dirty and they may need to hand wash the bottom. Fine... I received the dress and immediately noticed the strings along the seams. Fine, I can trim them back. I tired on the dress and it has completely shrunk. Does not fit, the lining is longer than the dress, the shape of the dress has completely changed... they did not hand wash the bottom of the dress. They washed AND dried the dress. On top of that the strap broke off and they hooked it on to a different part of the dress. Completely unacceptable. read more

Whether I'm dropping off suits, slacks, or dress shirts, I always know they'll turn it around quickly and do a perfect job. Convenient with a drive -up window and super nice people. Great service - always asks me when I need my stuff back as opposed to just hand me a slip saying "Thursday" or something. So I'm new to the area, and decided to bring my 12 dress shirts to this cleaner based on its location (close to me) and the positive yelp reviews. When i went to pick up the laundry.....the owner informed me he had lost one of my dress shirts. Trying to be reasonable (these things happen), I told him not to worry about it and to give me a call if it turns back up. We had a nice little chat, I paid for the laundry and took it home. I found it a little strange he did not offer anything to make up for the lost shirt, but again....I'm new to the area and didn't want to push any buttons....plus this place would have been a very convenient place to bring my laundry while in KC, and i really have a soft spot for small, hard working family owned businesses. When i got home, I glanced at the receipt and noticed the owner charged me for all 12 shirts!!!! He didn't even take off the charge from the lost shirt....So now i am out a 50 dollar dress shirt and 2.50 for the cleaning fee for the shirt that i will never get to wear again thanks to their mistake. I'm an easy going guy....I try hard to be nice and understanding. But this is CRIMINAL. DO NOT bring your laundry here!!!! They are crooks. Do not go here! The only reason for a single star is drive up window. Genius. But would give them zero for service. I dropped a wool coat for cleaning. General cleaning and some shmootz on one sleeve cuff. I picked it up and after opening when getting home, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Still had lint on it and nothing done to the cuff...nothing. I called to advise and they swore they cleaned it and I told them I'd bring so he could see because unless he knows he specifically cleaned it...it wasn't cleaned. Showed up and showed him it still had lint on it...he maintained it had been cleaned. I showed him the cuff and he said, no that's stain. (It was food stuff I likely could have scratched off myself). I asked him if I dropped it for cleaning, should I expect the cuff not to be cleaned? He said they would clean it again. I said I wanted a refund and would take the coat elsewhere. He refused. Do. Drive thru, or walk up service. A simple, fairly priced, no frills, no bs, dry-cleaning establishment. You deal with the owners, Kim & his wife, and they care about the results you are provided. I have taken a broad range of both men's and women's clothing and a variety of fabric items for treatment. They have given great results on a variety of challenges. In one difficult case they asked permission to treat a badly soiled garment in an experimental fashion after it did not respond to the normal course. Then when it did not succeed, I had to insist that they take payment for the effort. How can you not respond positively to such good business? read more

This place isn't fancy, but does great work and is so much more reasonably priced than the local chains. They have a funky little drive through with an old school gas station dinger rope that alerts them they have a costumer. Super place. I live in Lawrence but work in downtown KC. Don't take anything to this cleaner..... my fiancé took my simple dress to be cleaned and somehow the elastic in the off the shoulder sleeves was broken! They didn't even have the decency to let us know.....bad business!! You can look at the photos and see where one side has the elastic and the other side is completely gone read more

Went here on a recommendation, and when I saw that the entrance was located in an alley next to a strip club I figured I'd been punked. Now I know better :-) This is a really friendly, fast, and inexpensive dry cleaner! This is my 2nd month using this dry cleaners & have to say I'm very impressed at the reliability / punctuality & quality. I've dropped off very large loads here & they've been finished exactly when stated with superior results. I hate to give a negative review but I just had a weird experience. I had pants that needed to be altered but I need to try them on but the guy said no, only drive-through. Also, he was very short with me and didn't care if he had my business or not. I didn't know it was only a drive through and he got kind of snippy at my for walking up to he window. read more
