*** This review is solely based on the women's center/maternity ward of this hospital. ***…read more I was extremely nervous entering my third pregnancy. We hadn't been in MO even a year yet, my other two boys were born in OH. I had to switch my OBGYN care from a clinic I absolutely loved to one that didn't have the greatest of reviews. Even though I had gone through pregnancy, labor/delivery anyone that's had a baby knows that care during the whole process makes a huge difference. I didn't have the most amazing first impression I will say but I stuck with it. Boy am I glad I did... First off I want to say my primary experience was with the midwives. I saw the DO's as that is the clinic policy but I choose the midwife route. Amazing... they are absolutely amazing. The midwives that is. I never met with one that I didn't love. Emily delivered me and she was phenomenal. I couldn't be happier that this time I made the choice to switch to see the midwives, out of all 3 births this by far was the best. Aside from the wonderful Mrs. Emily, the rest of the staff at this hospital were also nothing short of amazing. Welcoming for one but just downright caring. On top of their stuff and just went above and beyond all my expectations. I specifically want to brag on the nurses! Omg... I could not have given birth the way I did without them. They were so supportive and helpful in every way. I had Amelia and Maddie... their care has forever left an impact on me. So special to have people that care so much and love what they do. Its awesome to be able to leave and have such good memories you'll treasure forever because of the awesome people that were apart of your experience. Ive typed enough, but I am literally just so beyond thankful. I went from being skeptical and nervous to completely blown away and so amazed! I never thought anything could be my first two experiences but WMMC takes the cake. While I am in the area and able I will always recommend them! Thanks WMMC Maternity for being awesome! My family appreciates you so much! - Also want to note that I, in no way want to downplay anyones poor experience.. I can only vouch for mine. As far as the midwives are concerned, AMAZING! -

After checking in, I was then directed to Diagnostic Imaging to check in there as well. I waited for about 20 minutes before approaching the front desk to ask if they were running behind, as I had been instructed to arrive with a full bladder for the exam. The receptionist called back to check on the delay and informed me it would likely be another 10 minutes. She encouraged me to go ahead and use the restroom, then drink more water in hopes that my bladder would be full again by the time I was called back. Unfortunately, because I had specifically prepared for the appointment as instructed and was unsure how much longer the delay would be, I chose to reschedule and leave since I needed to pick my kids up from daycare by 4. Better communication regarding the delay would have been appreciated.

When I finally did get to the ER portion, after basically forcing it, I was treated rudely and rough by the Nurse. The Dr. did do some tests and such but when my blood Ox obviously went to 80% the wrong assessment was, no worries, you're ok. No I wasn't, my airway was so blocked I could not get a full breath to feel safe. No help. Horrible assessments and horrible nurse. The intake was more concerned with her conversations with co-workers. The triage clearly wanted to get to her clock out time and didn't push me through for help.

I rarely leave reviews like this, but my experience at Saint Luke's East Emergency Department was…read moreextremely disappointing. I arrived at 12:10 a.m. and was not taken to a room until 3:30 a.m. I understand ERs triage by acuity, so the wait alone is not my primary complaint. My concern is what happened once I was roomed. The treatment room was visibly dirty--full trash and dirty-linen receptacles, debris/hair on the floor, and a dirty pillow underneath the bed. I reported it to the nurse and was told it would be addressed. I also took photos documenting the conditions. Dr. Cox was the bright spot of the experience. He was caring, compassionate, and took my concerns seriously. Unfortunately, after he ordered my workup, there were significant delays. Radiology came twice to perform my CT but couldn't proceed because the required IV had not been placed. Despite multiple calls for assistance, my IV wasn't established until more than an hour after Dr. Cox evaluated me. After the shift change, my experience with Dr. Burley was completely different. I found his bedside manner dismissive, accusatory, and lacking compassion. I felt rushed out rather than treated like a patient whose concerns mattered. Between the dirty room, poor responsiveness, delays in ordered care, and dismissive discharge experience, I was extremely disappointed. I appreciate Dr. Cox's professionalism, but based on my overall experience, I would not return to Saint Luke's East for emergency care.

I had great experience at this ER. Everyone was very friendly and attentive…read more On Christmas Eve, my abdomen was hurting for hours and I've decided to visit ER. My husband dropped me off outside the door, it was too painful for me to talk and move, so I just sat on the bench outside waiting for him to come back from parking. A staff came out offering help, and helped me with a wheelchair. At the registry desk, I was told there were 6 people came before me, and the longest them have waited was 2 hours. Patients are seen by the severity and the care team inside the door decide who gets to be seen first. With no expectations to be seen anytime soon, we sat down at one corner and just waiting. According to my husband, since my consciousness was suffered by pain, in about 1 hour, we were called and went in to a single room. Our RN, Chris was above and beyond. He explained things as he was doing them, also very attentive and patient. He was busy moving things in and out and made sure I had everything I needed. While the doctor and anesthetist were talking to me, he was there like a friend helping me with questions, making me feeling a lot better. Another RN, Emma, was very skilled and efficient. She did the least painful IV I've ever had and got all my samples in no time. Before 10pm I was admitted to the ER, and before midnight I was in the hospital room. Within about 2 hours of time, they did IV, bloodwork, CT and COVID test on me. A doctor came by 2 times and confirmed my appendix needed to go. Dr. Shatto, the surgeon came by, explained everything in details, and was patient enough to answer all the questions my husband had. I was quickly admitted in the main hospital and pushed to the operation room. In the OR, all the nurses moved so fast and in sync, I was warped and settled in the blink of an eye. The anesthetist who I believe was Adam, chatted with me while setting things up and before he counted to 1, I went under. The surgery went less than a hour and luckily they found me a maternity room. It was private, spacious and clean. Before I left the hospital(around 4pm on Christmas), they've offered me breakfast and lunch; I had a great care team coming and going checking on my fluids and meds. On Monday, I came back to take a copy of my medical records. The staff on the phone was super nice and said he'd get everything together and we could just do a curbside pick up. I was super impressed by everything at this hospital. Especially all the care members working on Christmas Eve and Christmas, the holiday didn't affect their kindness and passion. Just as the signs in the parking area said, heroes work here!
