Tried searching for…read moreevery place near me, leaving voice-mail after voice-mail, but couldn't get through to anyone until... until I managed to locate Iron Horse Guest Ranch. Nestled in close to the Renaissance Fair and downtown Magnolia, this was the perfect place; close to our home. Setting up the appointment for a lesson was quick and painless; used facebook messenger to work out the best time. Prices varied, depending on the type of lesson, were very reasonable, and all proceeds went back to the horses on the ranch. I would quickly learn that everyone is a volunteer, as this home is for horses rescued & rehabilitated from someone the harshest circumstances. We arrived to meet with Niki, owner and operator. She was an amazing guide and teacher. She and her son helped explain everything to my wife and I prior to mounting our amazing rides; Gunner & Hershey. They were both very patient with our questions, taking safety very important. Best part of the experience was enjoying the ride without having to take any photos. Niki did all of this for us without having to worry, and sent us all of the amazing pics after the ride. All and all, the hour or two we spent here was very special and we will soon not forget it. Highly recommend a visit if in town for a visit, or even living close by. Helping these amazing animals was the best thing ever!

This place is going down hill fast. I've been coming here for years, since I think around 2008,…read moremaybe longer. You would come in, pick your site, let the ranger station know and you were done. Now, since a couple months ago, they changed it to where "a computer" would pick your site for your, which would be good if all the sites were the same, but they definitely are not! Some sites are paved, some are rock, some long or short, some easy to get into, some not. They basically took your choice away! Before, if you got here and all the "good" sites were taken, that's the luck of the draw. Both times since they changed to this I've had to ask to change the site, first time, I couldn't get into the site if I wanted to. Second time they put us in a site we definitely did not want. Now, they put up a sign no drinks in the edge of the pool, no exceptions! A lot of people go to the pool, stand at the side, drink whatever it is, chill and have a good time. So now that choice has been taken away. I can understand glass containers, glass and pools don't mix, so punish those people! We have loved this place for years, but it's getting to where we don't like coming here anymore. Some of the employees are nice, some not so much. Some of the employees seem extremely lazy and are just here to talk and play. Mean while, the speed limit is 5 mph, I've seen people doing I think around 25 or 30. People have their kids and dogs walking around the park and I haven't seen much to stop that. But standing around the pool drinking whatever and having a good time, the managers said shut it down! I really don't know what's happening here. Just think hard before buying a membership. The memberships can cost thousands of dollars and they can make changes anytime, whether you like it or not, and you either have to deal with it or get rid of it. They don't care what you think! Anyway, have a good day.

There are so many things for you to do, whether you are coming as a couple, family, or even solo. They have a dog park, an activity center, tennis courts, basketball courts, miniature golf, a nice pool, and more. Each day we were there, there was a different food truck.

Sure wish they had hookups. We used our generator to boondock. I would have given 5 stars if they had water and electric hookups. You can fill your fresh tank for free when you drive into the camp. Dumping your tanks on way out is $25. This site really needs to offer a water truck service to come to your rv and refill your fresh tank. We would have gladly paid for a water refill. We ended up on last night going to the royal bath house and paying $10 for a 16 min shower. But worth it. Nice facilities. It is a dispersed camping concept. Which means tents and rv's mixed together everywhere. And this place turns into party central after dark. Not for kids. Some places are 18 and over. We went into a pop up tent club and actually had to show our ID for over 21. If you are taking your RV def recommend getting a designated site. We had our own picnic table and rented a fire pit. There is also a trash can on site that they came by and changed out. The other wish we had is that you can bring your golf cart. This place is SO vast it's a pain, a literal pain, for us older folks to walk a mile to get to a party and back. In the dark... we will return next year! And you can leave your camp site and just walk to the fest. No need to dive and battle for parking. Worth it.

The pictures that I've seen of this place preach. I sell land in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The rivers that we have experienced Remind Me! a lot of the Home that we all long for. I pray one day I get an opportunity to actually visit this place! It looks amazing. Attached are some pictures--I've included one of the river on the ranch at Waldo's Camp. A friend sent it to me. I've also included fun pictures--even one from my Landsale in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The rivers there are absolutely incredible. I've heard the rivers in Texas are great! Just kidding. I know they are-- because I'm from Texas! I'm biased. Keep checking out my photos and you'll see ;) That's why I'm coming to Columbus one day and spending some time at the Camp! I hope they are ready for me! And when I say they, I mean the owner and any of his employees. I've seen him around town--on a billboard or two. That tells me something. It tells me many things actually, but one of them is that this is, straight up, a legit business. And when you see it, make sure to send a message to God, "thank you for your creation" and also to the owner, JP. Tell him "Jenn says 'hi'!" Yall are the best!

Our site was clean and all hook ups worked perfectly. We also opted to rent a golf cart (definitely a plus). The water park was so great! So much fun with the family. A park associate (Dani) helped us out with our poolside cabana. Great rides, water features and a swim up bar. The snack bar food was really good and worth the cost. The Ranger Station was fully stocked and the staff is very friendly. Great for grabbing those little things you may have forgot. Fishing was a hit. We geared up for big mouth bass and pulled them with ease. Mornings were the most active. Lots of dogs and ours made some new fur friends. We went during Halloween festivities and everyone loved it. The park went all out with a haunted trail and everyone trick or treated. Costume and decoration contests for those who prepared (we did not). Next time we will. Overall an amazing experience for the whole family. This is a really well maintained and welcoming place to bring your family and friends.
