This is my first new home purchase and let me tell you about my experience with this builder. Let's…read morestart with how long it took to for them to get me into the my new home, 13 months when the sales consultant said 6-9 months. This was also written on paper. The home wasn't even fully completed because there were things missing and issues that needed to be addressed. Meadowbrook just wants to close fast and take your money. The issues that needed to be addressed and fixed are in a 6 month repair list. I'm 2 month away from my 1 year living in this home and Meadowbrook Builders still hasn't completed them. My one year list is much longer and I'm afraid that if it doesn't get fixed within the warranty, then I may be forced to pay out of pocket. Professional builders know how to fix their mistakes, but with MeadowBrook Builders, it's one excuse after another. They're management skills is below average. The contractors who come out to try to fix the issues are the same contractors who caused the issue. My list: - Creaky subfloor/uneven subfloor - Sensitive smoke detector (can't even fry a simple egg). - Hard to open windows - Furnace doesn't always work - Very piss poor interior paint job - Very piss poor drywall job - Kitchen cabinets still have finishing nail exposed (Dangerous) - electrical wired incorrectly - new carpet lifting around edges - hard carpet padding/insulation - No insulation in attic The list goes on.... Here's my tip if you really want to buy a new home from Meadowbrook Builders, DON'T!!!! The is America and you are entitled to you liberties and freedom. So, Hire an inspector to walk through the home with you because the contract builders who work for MeadowBrook will take full advantage of that fact you know nothing about building a home. It's their words against your concerns. To them it's all about hurry up and close. Meadowbrook homes claim to be semi custom, but there really not. The exterior esthetics is was what caught my eye. I should've never judge a book by its cover. Use my list and check your home and make sure Meadowbrook doesn't leave you hanging. I'm just one of many other dissatisfied home owners of Meadowbrook builders. Do your research! Read more reviews. If it's a good review, it's a lie! It's probably someone from management or Melissa H, remember that name!

He was kind, professional, extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to explain every option we were interested in. He patiently answered all of our questions and was always reachable. We stayed in close contact throughout the entire process -- from the initial consultation, to accepting the offer, ordering, production, and all the way through installation. That level of communication made the whole experience stress-free and transparent. The windows themselves are excellent quality, solid, well-made, and energy-efficient, all offered at a very affordable price. We truly felt we received great value for the investment. The installation crew was absolutely fantastic. Over the course of 2.5 days, they installed 24 windows, one front door, and one garage entry door. The team arrived on time every day and worked with impressive efficiency and precision. They were incredibly organized, well-coordinated, and clearly experienced -- working in perfect sync from start to finish. The job was done quickly, reliably, and with great attention to detail. The final results look amazing and exceeded our expectations. A big thank you to Zach and the entire Window World of Joliet team. We are extremely happy with our new windows and doors and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for high-quality products at a fair price with excellent customer service.

Note: This is a copy and paste from my Google review…read more Thus far my experience with window world has been a mixed bag. While initially they were very communicative and proactive, once I submitted my 50% deposit, I feel like the company has almost ghosted me. No one ever called to inform me that my windows were in. I had to call after almost a month and a half to get a status update and lo and behold my windows happened to be in and I was able to schedule only after I called. Then, only a couple of days later I get a call from Paul while I'm in a work meeting that they need to reschedule. We have young, reactive dogs and need to make arrangements for them to be out of the house during installation so rescheduling for us isn't as simple as picking another day. I call back shortly after and left a voicemail of my own for Paul. Almost 4 hours went by without a response and considering there is a holiday weekend and only a couple of days until my scheduled appointment, I had to call back yet again. Over the last month, I have called the main line of Window World over 10 times and I've only spoken to a live person twice. Also, their text communication service wasn't working this week either, making this even more frustrating. Update: The poor communication continued right up to installation day. The day before my 8-10am appointment window I called at 3:30pm to make sure I would receive a phone call when the crew was on their way. This is important so that we could get our dogs over to a friend's house before arrival. I was assured I would get a call 15 minutes before the crew would arrive. I never received the promised call; the crew just showed up and rang the doorbell, leading to a chaotic situation my wife and I had to deal with that should have never happened. I cannot believe how many times I as the customer, have had to call this company to get anything accomplished. I'm beyond disappointed with how I've been treated as a customer since I paid my 50% deposit.

Of course, like any other…read morebuilder they tell you whatever you want to hear with a sickly-sweet smile UNTIL you sign at closing. Our home was done in early 2006. That is, everything was done except for the lawn. During our final walk through, (middle of March) they ASSURED us the lawn would be installed "just in time for the spring rains", so, we closed and moved in. We were extremely easy-going about the whole ordeal, never complained nor made any major changes to their blueprints -- all in all, we were the ideal customers. I have 2 kids and at that time, 2 dogs. Spring Rainy season came and went as I observed MANY other new homeowners who closed AFTER us get their lawn BEFORE us. You see, we were way at the back of the subdivision so they didn't care about us - most prospective buyers didn't travel that far back to check things out. Without our lawn, I couldn't open my windows on nice days unless I wanted everything in my home covered with dirt dust. I had to deal with MUD on a regular basis (2 kids/2 dogs). When calling SHARP about our promised lawn I received nothing but a runaround, "oh, you are on the list", "you are on the list" over and over. We did not get our lawn until SEPTEMBER! Along with that, a $400. water bill (New sod needs DAILY watering) that SHARP refused to pay! As if that weren't bad enough, we were promised two trees on our front easement. They planted ONE tree in September, a Green Ash. However, it turns out that Green Ash Trees are on our village's "DO NOT PLANT" list due to Emerald Ash Borer bugs. We notified Sharp of the Village's list and they ignored us (as usual) until the tree was attacked by said bugs and died. I had to get the Village officials involved in order to get SHARP to do anything about it. Finally, they replaced the tree, one year after they planted it. Did I ever get my second tree as promised? NOPE. It's been over three years! Of course, their home warranty is only good for ONE year. Guess what happens after that one year? Everything starts to fall apart and unravel! Roof shingles fall off regularly (not just on our home, but you'll see fallen shingles on lawns all over their subdivisions), outdoor hose spigots don't work and/or leak into your basement. Many neighbors have had cracks in their foundations a year or two after moving in. At LEAST seven homeowners that I know of have had to deal with flooding in their basements and have had to REPLACE their SHARP-Installed sump-pumps at the homeowners own cost. If you plan on having a home built, don't fall for SHARP's sickly-sweet-syrup-dripping-smile while they LIE through their teeth! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. If you DO happen to choose SHARP as your home builder, DO NOT CLOSE until EVERYTHING is absolutely to your satisfaction. If you don't, be prepared to wait until hell freezes over for them to make anything right! Also, MAKE SURE you have an outside/non-affiliated inspector check out your sump-pump and foundation BEFORE signing or be prepared to deal with constant flooding in your basement, usually AFTER that one year warranty! If you don't believe me, come talk to some of the homeowners in SHARP's subdivisions yourself. Also, take note of how many almost EMPTY subdivisions they've started in 2006 & 2007, there's a good reason no one is purchasing any more homes from them and it has NOTHING to do with the economy issues going on as other builders/subdivisions are moving along just fine!

Then the dreaded letter from the insurance company. Thanks for messing with my insurance coverage and never following up with me. Epic fail and terrible customer service. Do not use. All you'll see is your money riding around town on the owners boat. EDIT - See comment below. More lies, once they got me to sign, I never heard from this company again. No, hey you got denied, no follow up anything. 4/8/26 Edit again, Now the owner of the company is sending me FB messages calling me a bum......... Real professionalism 4/24/26 After my 4/8/26 edit about ownership sending me a FB message, I received multiple calls from ownership calling me out after their poor practices. I was told "he" would figure something out to make this entire situation right. Well, as you might have guess, 3 weeks have gone by and not a single word. Wish you could leave negative stars. I suppose I'll be sending the contract and details to the BBB cause this company earns negative points and they certainly don't deserve their ratings. This organization is a joke and an embarrassment to the community they supposedly serve. Pretty sad when the storm chasers prove to be more reliable than a local roofing company. 6/24/26 Additional review items. This guy has zero business ethic or common sense. Today, Kyle and another employee from recrafted followed me into another local business where Kyle confronted me. In an attempt to walk away he gets in my face and started telling me about what a piece of shit I am. Then as I continued attempt to walk away he begins to tell me that he has me figured out all this while being in my face. Claims about my children and relationships, makes me wonder who he's hanging out with from the sounds of his mouth running. The other business owner had to physically remove this psychopath and asked me to return to his store for my safety.
