She's a frequent customer and she seldom eats pies. She sometimes freezes them. It's packed with so many berries and has a pure berry taste. It's sweet but still maintains the tartness/acidity of the berries so it helps your ability to eat more of it. My husband finished almost an entire pie in one day. The bad: My aunt said the apple pie is too sweet and therefore prefers the more tart/sour berry pie. I wish I tried the pie with ice cream because that would have been a nice compliment. I did weekly lessons and learned a lot about the horse and riding. I learned how to ride all kinds of horses from green (not fully trained) horses to the competition horses. It was one of the reasons why I became so into horseback riding. I loved Dennis's deep knowledge on horses and how he worked and partnered with the amazing horses he has in the stable. I also learned to work with cows and learned to do advanced techniques over the years. Dennis teaches you that patience helps you a lot around horses. He teaches you to be safe on the ground and in the saddle. Yes, it takes years to learn to horseback ride. It is the same for all sports and even learning instruments. You gotta understand that things take time. I describe horseback riding is like a tree. You learn the basics or the standard skill. Each basic technique you learn branches off to more advanced skills. Also, repetitions are key! Anyway, I recommend Dennis Bright as a caring and acknowledgeable horseback riding mentor. He has the safest horses to ride compared to the other stables I visited. The biggest thing he makes sure is that you the student is safe. Not many horseback riding teachers do this! - Kathryn K.

So on our way back home we went here and it was pretty cool. I didn't realize how close Morgan Hill was to the Cupertino/San Jose area (~30 miles or less). It was a great experience. The entrance to the parking lot is very clear but it's only one way so if you see parking just park there. I saw cars park on the highway road because it was full. First you check in to pay admission for adults ( kids under 4 feet are free) then they hand you the bucket and your on your way. It was a bit muddy because of the rain the past few days so make sure to wear shoes you don't care about. We were a bit lost as to where we were allowed to pull but we found our footing and it was a fun hour experience. You can eat the cherries as you pick. They don't care. There's a lot of cherries at the bottom of the tree as well as on top for the kids to pick. But because of the weather and rain I saw more baby cherries or cherries that weren't ready to ripe yet. Maybe next weekend it will be better. When you check out, they weigh it and bag it in a plastic bag for you. Morgan Hill downtown is very close to here so you could go there for lunch or walk around to complete your Morgan Hill experience but you'll probably have to make a UTURN to get there. Check online for hours!

And they even sell beer for the non-wine drinkers. The tasting menu had 4 wines, though there were plenty of extra open bottles, so we were able to try a few more.

I particularly enjoyed the chance to feed the pastured chickens and gather eggs from their coops. (My first time for both.) While visiting with the birds in their run, you see them scratching for bugs, dust bathing and foraging. Stephanie also demonstrated how the farm harvests, cleans and packs eggs for sale. It was a treat to bring home a carton of the fresh eggs that we hand collected - some from right under the hen. I loved the beautiful shell colors, green and blue in addition to the familiar white and brown. (Breed determines egg color.) There are many animal residents at The Nest Box. During the visit, I also saw a duck (waddling among the chickens), cat, cow and pigs. I left the farm thinking that the animals at The Nest Box are fortunate to be so well cared for. This tour is appropriate for both children and adults, and will be of particular interest to those curious about animals and where food comes from. The activity is not physically taxing, other than being on your feet and in the sun. Pro tips: Wear sun protection and closed-toe shoes that you do not mind getting dusty.

We were handed bags and told how far on the property we could venture. The price was around $6.99 a pound. It's more expensive than the store for bing cherries, but you can't beat the quality, freshness and supporting a family business. We picked cherries for about 20 minutes and of course took the opportunity to take some pictures. We picked about a pound and a half and were on our way. This was a great quick stop and we had a healthy snack on our road trip. I would recommend stopping if you are in the area.

If you like a small family exclusive farm educational experience, this is for you. Julian and Tina are such a sweet sweet couple! Julian knows all about his animals and takes great care of them. Our 7 and 2yo boys absolutely loved the animals and the very natural experience. There're dozens of hens, a few goats, ducks and even peacocks. We were especially impressed by how much attention Julian pays to safety. He separates the animals while our toddler was petting ducks.
