This my 1st time using H&R Block, basically because it advertised an affordable price and assurances. Both proved to be fraudulent and I probably would have come out better preparing my taxes myself. 1st the $89 advertised is a complete scam to get you in the door, but I guess I will blame myself for not paying attention to the fine, fine, fine print. My tax return came to well over $200. Which is less than my previous tax preparation company but I also received nearly $3000 less than I have ever received in two decades. 2nd it has been well over two months and when I inquired about my State Refund, since I received my Federal Refund well over a month ago I was told to contact the State on my own behalf. So basically all that protection and assurances they advertise mean nothing because when I am concerned I was told that's between Me and Uncle Sam. So in the end I should have paid what turned out to be the extra $100 and had my taxes prepared by my usual tax preparer and possibly I would have gotten a larger refund as I have for nearly two decades and the measly refund still hasn't arrived and I have to go advocate for myself. I WILL NEVER USE H&R BLOCK AGAIN and I have shared my experience with all my family, friends, coworkers and anyone I may come across during the tax season. Everett was of course very nice the first time, so he can earn our business. He promised to always be available if we need anything or have any questions and this held true 1 time. A month after doing business and not receiving the proper tax refund, my husband and I have been trying to call constantly and no answer. It was so bad we got worried and thought something bad had happened to the guy. One day I decided to call from a different phone number (one he wouldn't recognize) and all of a sudden he answers. When he found out who it was, he said he was really busy but would call back. Weeks later, NOTHING. SIR, half of the tax refund we were guaranteed is missing. Did you take it? Did you mess up? Why is it so difficult to get ahold of you now. Will never do business here again and will recommend everyone I know to stay away from this tiny scammy office!
