I was nervous going into making a blanket but it turned out to to be way easier than expected. The instructor Casey was so clear and helpful in explaining things it really broke it down so completely un-crafty people could easily become super crafty! I made a blanket the perfect size for my cats and they are obsessed with it. I was so happy they recorded the class so I could go back and finish up with proper instructions the next day. They made the class fun and engaging, and left me feeling accomplished at the end! A total success!

My manager had arranged for my teammates and I to take a virtual class with The Crafty Kit to arm-knit some blankets. We choose our blanket color ahead of time through a quick and easy online ordering process and our three skeins arrived in the blink of an eye. Casey led the virtual class with incredible patience and that made the whole experience feel fun and approachable. She demonstrated each step first, then guided us through the process in real time, making sure no one felt left behind. She even restarted portions of the lesson a couple of times just to ensure everyone was on the same page, which was greatly appreciated. At the end of the session, Casey shared some of the other classes offered by The Craft Kit, and wow, what a great course list. Such a fun team activity and I'm genuinely obsessed with my chonky kawaii blanket. It took me about two hours to finish my blanket from start-to-finish.

Michaels offers in-store and online classes/events, such as crafting demos, sewing, cake decorating, etc. With so much to offer, they do still have some things that could use improvement. Many items have no prices on them and I couldn't find a price scanner either. It's little tedious to have to approach a sales person every time you want to know a price. It's also a little messy here. Checkout is self checkout here, with an employee hovering over to assist. You'll also find weekly coupons online to use. I went there to get my wedding invites and while I did pick some out there and wind up purchasing…read morethem I was not happy with the customer service. While we were seated at a table picking out invites, an obnoxious woman came in harried and loud and she needed emergency fast invites for her kids bd party and we were asked to get up and stand for the remainder of our visit and let her sit because she comes in all the time and is a repeat customer. Despite this, we still bought invites from them which I regret. We had quite a few with misspelled names, their fault. And I was told I would have to pay for re prints even though they messed up. They capitalized incorrect letters in some hyphenated last names and told me the way I had it was wrong. Also when I went to pick up the final products the lady at the register was cold and rude and I was so happy to pick up my invites and was just admiring them and she kept saying hello that's $250 balance. You have to pay now, you can't come back and pay it later. She was so grumpy and rude and I wasn't running out on the balance I was just taking a split second to admire the invites. If I could give half a star on customer service I would. The shop owner said it's a fake review. Well let me add in a pic of my invites then. Maybe that will help her remember because this did happen and I would never set foot in that store again. But nice try.

When I met her 4 years ago, she seems a little distant and nonchalant, as if she had better things to do than deal with customers. Don't get me wrong, her design skills are pretty top notch, its her customer service skills that are her downfall. Some people have better customer service skills, while others are better at producing... My sister in law decided to use them for their wedding invitations, because we used them. She liked what she saw, but knew that the service wasn't that great. She was able to get what she needed done, in the time frame it needed to be done so she didn't mind. When she picked up her stuff, Linda was decently rude to her, so since my sister in law doesn't yelp, my wife did it for her. Low and behold, Linda calls my wife and here is the part of the review that yelp removed: Ha! Someone named Linda called my wife from this store, left a voicemail asking her to take off the review. A little creepy that a business goes through their records from 2 years ago to beg to have a complaint taken off. Maybe their high prices explain their snootiness? What do they think they are, a high end steakhouse??? lol! Hi Linda, neither my wife nor I will be taking down our reviews. We went on a June Monday. It was pretty busy, but we walked in and they still had tables. Greeted immediately and customer service was fantastic. Blair and Georgia were attentive throughout the entire three hours we were there. Explained in detail the process and also gave us tips on how to use the brushes and stencils in what would work best for our pieces. Opened up my eyes to a whole new world of relaxation. Very impressive. Will be back.

Fortunately they had multiple unicorn figurines to choose from because it HAD to be a unicorn. The young lady employee who greeted us at the door warmly and her friendly personality set the tone for our entire visit. She explained how everything worked with the paints, instructions, and most importantly to have fun.  5 stars for customer service.  The cost of the figurine I thought was a bit high, but during the week (Wednesday) the studio fee was half price. We will definitely return in the future.
