Given my symptoms, I needed a laryngoscopy, which involves snaking a thin cord down the nose so they can see the vocal chords. When they said they needed to do this, I got a chill. But the assistant quickly assured me that the process wasn't painful, and it was quick. And she was right. I got some anesthetic nasal spray, and the instrument easily went down, and Dr. Lertsburapa could see the chords right away. Afterwards, the explanation of my condition and how to fix it was simple yet thorough. The office staff was polite and friendly. The billing was also non-confrontational, which has been my complaint about Edward for the 15+ years I've had to deal with them. The building itself isn't fancy, but this is pretty far down my list of priorities - I want great physicians.

Jill was very patient with all of my questions and even did a consult two weeks prior to my actual appointment as I was on the fence about my lips. I'm so excited that I did both. I feel beautiful, and she made it fun. I love her technique it's pain free. I was so anxious that getting my lips done would hurt, but it was pain free. She only uses ice before each poke. I've had sinus problems most of my life. I've been to three different ENTs over the last twenty…read moreyears, and they all did the same thing: stuck an endoscope up my nose, looked around for 30 seconds, then shrugged and told me to keep using Flonase. On my very first visit to Girgis, Dr. Sam spent more than an hour with me. He ordered a CT scan and a full blood panel (turns out I had a deviated septum and low antibody levels for several strains of pneumococcal bacteria, which no doctor had ever told me, or even tested for). Eventually, when we had the results, he patiently went over everything in detail, and recommended surgery. The surgery itself was very smooth and the recovery was straightforward. Two months later, it has been LIFE-CHANGING. I am breathing better and sleeping better. Before the surgery, I generally needed an antihistamine, a decongestant, and a nasal spray every day. I have not taken any of them--not even once--since the surgery. During the entire process, the whole staff--Dr. Sam, the nurses, the receptionists, and the billing department--were kind, patient, and always available to answer questions. Do not waste time going somewhere else. This is the best ENT you will find in the area.

I genuinely do think making my voice heard on this place (ha, vocal institute, get it?) is what can even the karmic scales a bit, and hopefully will be enough a push to get the office staff to reflect on their behavior. To try and briefly describe the situation, I had told the office staff from day 1 that I'd be footing every bill as my insurance didn't cover anything. And from day 1, this was executed as planned! I paid everything on time as it was presented to me. After my necessary treatment there, it was confirmed to me that I had nothing else to pay off - what a joy! December of last year, I receive a $1 bill in the mail from them. Assuming it's a clerical error, I bin it. I then get a call informing me a surprise $900 bill is going to collections. Having never been late on a single bill (and again having confirmed everything was paid off), I of course was pretty surprised and upset. Turns out, they'd tried...billing my insurance? And didn't hear back for months? And the claim was (as expected) denied, but they couldn't be bothered to send the bill in the mail, call me, or email me about this? I have a feeling they're padding their bottom line assuming you'll pay anything off. After all, who wants their credit ruined by having a bill sent to collections? Perhaps most people who come here have enough money where they wouldn't blink at such a bill? In any case, even if what they're saying is 100% true, it's pretty unbelievable they wouldn't own up to any aspect of the mistake, give more time to pay off the bill before sending to collections, or have an ounce of accountability or empathy in this situation. Even a simple "we made a mistake, I'm sorry" would have sufficed! Kyle and Sandra specifically were obstinate and overtly hostile. Kyle has clearly worked here for a long time, and part of me wonders if they're aware of the racket he's pulling and that's what makes him such a valuable employee. Anyways, Dr. Rebecca Hoesli is the most intelligent, understanding, holistic doctor I've ever experienced. Her care was absolutely peak, and I wish her the best in her career. She helped me understand my condition and the options moving forward, and I'm able to work again because of her. I'm sorry that she works here.

It enables the doctor to examine your samples right away, without having to send them out. Yay! Who needs to waste time sweating it out waiting for your lab results?! Speaking about time---I like the attention Dr. Goulder took with my appointment. He genuinely cares about his patients and although his schedule is booked solid, it didn''t feel as if I was being rushed out. Sometimes, finding that kind of attentiveness in patient care is MORE important than being able to see any old doctor a week or two before. Quality care is hard to find. Dr. Goulder and his staff are interested in doing what is best for their patients and giving them the results they are looking for at the same time. Plus, ya gotta love that they are located right next to the expressway with a Starbucks attached! Shaweeet!!!! Dr. Goulder is definitely worth his weight in Gold. Pun intended.
