During this visit, my 14-year-old daughter needed to use the restroom. Upon exiting, my 14-year-old daughter was approached by security who accused her of smoking marijuana in the bathroom. My daughter called my wife, and when she arrived, my wife informed the security personnel that our daughter is only 14 and does not smoke at all. My wife then granted security permission to search and smell our daughter to prove that she could not have been the one smoking weed, which would have resolved the allegations immediately. However, instead of hearing my wife's words and conducting a proper investigation, the security staff insisted that my wife and family leave the mall, which was incredibly humiliating for them. After my family was unjustly removed, my wife called the police to document the incident. The two officers who responded stated that security should have simply used their sense of smell rather than making assumptions. This incident has left my daughter traumatized, having been falsely accused and unable to demonstrate that she neither smoked nor had any scent of marijuana on her. This was a deeply distressing experience for my family, and there needs to be accountability or compensation for the humiliation and trauma inflicted on my daughter. I request that these two individuals offer my daughter an apology for their error, or I will be compelled to pursue legal action, as this situation is entirely unacceptable

We went to the men's department next. The style of clothing they sell for men was very preppy and my friend isn't quite preppy so he didn't really find any clothing he liked in that section. They had really nice underwear, t-shirts , and socks though. Those items would give any man confidence with their outer appearance, even though all those goodies would be tucked away underneath your clothing!!! We strolled over to the home goods section, which I didn't know they had there. They had a variety of things in that section. We talked a few minutes but her superior was telling her to go ahead and clock out, so that cut the reunion short. So we continued to look around the store more. I didn't even know they also sell bedding here as well. I like jersey knit sheets and I didn't see any here. The other materials in bedsheets tend to make me sweat and I HATE that, that's why I stick to jersey knit fabric. They also carry decent shoes here. I didn't see any bigger sizes but there was a nice selection. They even have some Gucci shoes here on clearance. They were very stately and modest, not our style at all. We also went into the lingerie section. My friend was looking for a waist shaper but they didn't have any. There was nothing exciting in the lingerie department. There was a lot of neutral colored undergarment and they were fashioned in a very demure way. My friend did find many things he liked and bought, mostly home knick knacks. They were at Pop-Up's and special events around the area (and region). And now, they can be found across the region (including North and South Carolina). But what do they carry? Though personally they have handcrafted leather gifts, accessories, and jewelry they follow more the pattern of a boutique in that they have items from other small businesses. What kind of items, you ask? Candles, cosmetics, coasters, can coolers, (and to finish out the C's) clothing. The ambiance of the space alone is rejuvenating. The natural light pouring in through the front windows, the reflection off the lightly stained wood accents and pastel colors inhabiting the space, and the warm smile of every team member awaits you upon entrance. There are people/businesses we all find ourselves routing for. They've put in the work, they remained positive amidst challenges, and they have proven resilient despite adversities. And for Freshwater, in addition to that, they have opened a brick-and-mortar location even after all that 2020 brought their (our) way. I will champion them to anyone who asks (or doesn't).
