Stein Mart is a small department store that sells clothing, shoes, accessories, some luggage, and housewares. I find that the selections cater towards women more for sure. The men's shoe selection is a small corner of the massive section that's dedicated to shoes. I find that the women's clothing caters towards the over 30 crowd. Maybe in the 35-60 age range. Think Evan Piccone, Chaus, Donna Ricco, etc. a few Michael Kors stuff scattered here and there. There are a lot of sales here, including coupons in the local paper, so be sure to check back often. I never really shop at Stein Mart because some of their things are expensive and matronly, but I stopped in recently to look around with a friend. I was informed by another friend of mine that my former bff worked here and y'all know my pull up game is STRONG like E6000(if you didn't know now you know!!! So keep it cute!!!). So as we made our way inside the store we noticed the fragrances first. They have several great fragrances for ok prices. I fell in love with one body spray they carried. It was by Kenneth Cole and smelled amazing. Sweet and fruity, just how I like to smell!!! Next, we went into the accessories department. They have nice accessories by renown designers for really affordable prices. My friend picked up a few items in that section. It was a lot of merchandise to look through. We went to the men's department next. The style of clothing they sell for men was very preppy and my friend isn't quite preppy so he didn't really find any clothing he liked in that section. They had really nice underwear, t-shirts , and socks though. Those items would give any man confidence with their outer appearance, even though all those goodies would be tucked away underneath your clothing!!! We strolled over to the home goods section, which I didn't know they had there. They had a variety of things in that section. As we were checking out the merchandise, Lo and behold my former best friend walks right past us. Not knowing what to expect from her since we hadn't talked in over 5 years she greeted us with hugs and chatter. I don't know if she was being fake or was she actually glad to see us. Well we stopped shopping and held a conversation for a while. It was like we had never fell out. It was interesting because she was a person that got me. Like things I say or refer to she immediately understood what I was talking about. It actually felt good to chat with her. We talked a few minutes but her superior was telling her to go ahead and clock out, so that cut the reunion short. So we continued to look around the store more. I didn't even know they also sell bedding here as well. I like jersey knit sheets and I didn't see any here. The other materials in bedsheets tend to make me sweat and I HATE that, that's why I stick to jersey knit fabric. They also carry decent shoes here. I didn't see any bigger sizes but there was a nice selection. They even have some Gucci shoes here on clearance. They were very stately and modest, not our style at all. We also went into the lingerie section. My friend was looking for a waist shaper but they didn't have any. There was nothing exciting in the lingerie department. There was a lot of neutral colored undergarment and they were fashioned in a very demure way. My friend did find many things he liked and bought, mostly home knick knacks. This store is pretty decent for what they sell but it's for a much older and conservative crowd. Don't get me wrong you can find things that are youthful and modern but it will take some searching. Stein Mart - Shoe department - Women's Clothing Near Me - Augusta, Georgia

Was shopping in the store Saturday 29th December. Everything was going swimmingly when an older shop assistant was moving and vacuuming the area around the pedestal we were looking at. Suddenly my wife said that lady is huffing and puffing. The shop assistant was physically huffing because we were in the area she was trying to vacuum. Now the store closes at 9 and this was around 6pm. It was very alarming to be honest and when I said to my wife we are looking to buy its fine the assistant heard me and made a flippant comment about how they just made their sales targets. I wanted to complain to management about her but my wife insisted not to. We did buy an item from that pedestal but it was very odd how this older lady just seemed to have it in for us. I really do like Stein Mart - although not a great fan of Augusta Stein Mart. I love the Pompano Beach, FL Stein Mart. The two stores are completely different and different clothing. I asked about this at the Pompano store and they said since they get a lot of cruise customers their clothing is more upscale. I suppose.... but I still like the Pompano store better..... read more

It was like walking in a mosileum. Totally ignored by staff. I asked a new employee if they did military discounts she didn't know. So she asked a slim asian chick if they did and the manner of response was sssooo rude. That is a double whammy. And F in service. And unpatriotic for not offering military discount. F- for responding in a tone as if she were asked to give the stuff away for free. Could tell the Asian or oriental chick was full of her self. The clothes are great though. I really like the Augusta Stein Mart. (More variety than Savannah's) There's a rumor going around that this store caters to the "older" crowd. Not entirely so. Yes, there are some hints of the "Golden Girls" but if you really look like what is the case for most similar discount stores) especially in the front left and middle sections) you will find some really cute ladies' wear--in all age ranges. Their skinny pants (where I usually start) feature many colors are fairly priced (around $40) and versatile. They have a fairly large petite section (sounds kind of funny), women's shoe section and formal dresses--where the "Golden Girls" come in again. The men are not entirely left out but items are definitely outnumbered. There's a cute house wear section which more often than not features whimsical furniture I wish I could own. The middle section also features accessories--my favorite section. Many scarves, belts, hats, and costume jewelry from which to choose. The ladies and gentlemen who work at Stein Mart always seem busy loading and unloading merchandise, pricing, stocking. On one hand, I guess this is ok as you don't get hounded by a pesky salesperson but on the other hand, I would liked to be noticed when I'm about to drop some dough. Don't get me wrong--the cashiers do greet you when you walk in but that's about the only time you will be asked if there's anything you are looking for on the actual floor.
