It takes quite a bit for me to go full five star review, but Rubs at Rita Ranch did everything right. Hence, the full five star review. I've heard stories of other places trying to sell you add ons, memberships, etc. when you come in for your first appointment, but none of that happened. The person behind the desk was super friendly and made pleasant conversation. That was it. I filled out my little form, and sat in their well appointed waiting area for my appointment with Erin. I had scheduled a deep tissue massage because that's the type of massage I really wanted and it was off the wall awesome. Erin knew exactly how much pressure I needed at various areas we had talked about and checked in on me to make sure I was doing fine. (I was doing great!) The entire massage was deliberate and methodical and exactly what I was looking for. She worked out several knots and when my appointment was done I felt like a million bucks. I scheduled a longer session and plan on going back at least once a month. The space is clean, the music is relaxing, and everyone is very nice. I am still visiting Cheyenne for my massages and she is still off the charts amazing... but this updated review is for the facial I just got a couple of weeks ago. WOW. I had totally forgotten how amazing facials were. She used Eminence products on me that smelled fabulous and made my skin feel hydrated and fantastic. This was, by far, the worst massage experience I have ever had. My husband and I went to get massages at the same time but he went in after me and was done before me somehow. Literally, I walked out at 5 minutes past the hour (on time btw) and he was already waiting for me!! How?!? Because he didn't get his full time, that's how, BUT that may have been a blessing in disguise since she was wrecking him anyway!! The worst part was ZERO listening on behalf of the "therapists" BOTH of them! I think this place just wants to hurt you with DEEP trigger point digging so you'll HAVE to come back!!! We both had to continuously stop our massages to tell them to stop!! We were clear, RELAXATION MASSAGE but I guess Rubs doesn't do that!! It was awful! My husband was in actual pain for days! Not "worked out muscle knot" pain but "WTF did she do to me" pain!! Armando was my mess of a "therapist" but don't call him a masseuse because as he put it "that's the one with a happy ending" WHAT?!?!? He refused to listen to ANY of my guidance which was super important for me because I have MS. I told him how i feel things differently and that he was legit HURTING me!! Over and over!! One more minute and Id have thrown him out of the room to get dressed and leave!! Placing WET hot towels on me which soaked the sheet and then putting the wet sheet back over me?! He even made a snide comment that he thought I'd fallen asleep because I guess I took too long get redressed!! WHAT IN THAT MASSAGE WOULD HAVE MADE ME SLEEPY?? Nothing! He also said he'd give me advice but since I "wouldn't let him do trigger points" he couldnt!! I was so disappointed that by the time I got out, my sweet husband (who remember got robbed of at least 10 minutes of his crappy massage) had not only paid but had tipped these people WELL! Full disclosure: I spoke to the manager. She said she could crunch some numbers to see how much of a discount she could give us to return and give them another try'. I told her to save her time, I wouldn't come back if she paid ME! But I did ask her to do something "nice" for my friend who does go there regularly (so I could know she'd actually addressed these issues with her staff) but apparently it was a lie. If you are looking for a basic relaxation massage then this is your place. There is nothing super special about it but it's a fair price for a simple massage. If you want luxury or even a little nicer spa like feel then try another massage or spa place closer. Prices are comypetitve to similar chain massage places but I do prefer non chain locations. read more

I was in a ton of pain and was in desperate need of a massage. I was visiting Tucson, so I was lucky to find this place! Love their on-line booking system, makes it easy to get an appointment. Suweena was my massage therapist. I told her exactly where my pain was located and then she asked me a couple of more questions. I was really impressed, she worked on the area that was causing me the most pain the majority of the time, which is exactly what I needed. I gained some range of motion back and some of the pain was gone by the time I left. I was very pleased with the therapist. The only issue I had, is that the room was a little bit on the cold side. Love this location! We go personally but also purchase a lot of gift certificates for this company. Massage services are always on point. Therapists are well educated and good at their craft. As an anniversary gift we got Our first time ever couples massage... while our massages were good and the massage therapists were sweet, (which is why I gave more than 1 star) but customer service front desk WAS NOT! The receptionist was not friendly, not welcoming and tbh not really professional in my opinion. Me and my husband aren't the wealthiest looking I guess, but common we aren't looking like bums! We didn't think we would get the judgy looks like we did. We weren't dressed in rags, we know how to dress! We just don't seem to have the same style that fits their Rita Ranch style apparently. We tried to shrug it off after our check in but our check out and paying process was awkward and weird. We had a mid aged woman at check in and mid age guy at check out, although the girl was still up there. I hope they read this and understand you are the reason we will go somewhere else next time, and not recommend this specific place. Never judge a book by its cover because we were definitely trying it out, so we can find a place and get massages more often. read more

Lynda Gonzales at the Rita Ranch Rubs is amazing! I have had lymphedema of my left leg for 10+ years. Lynda has started a wellness program with me and my leg is improving. She found a wedge for me to buy reasonably to elevate my leg at night or when watching TV and has shown me exercises I can do at home to help also. This is to help in addition to the wonderful massages that she gives. She looks for your feedback to make sure you are getting what you want out of the massage (be it therapeutic or for relaxation). As a disabled Army Veteran I have aches and pains. I visited rubs to try something different. I had done research on alternate pain relief than the drugs they doctors push on you, and to my surprise it is a very common practice since Vietnam war that veterans get massages and it assists with pain relief among other things. I highly recommend this place. I have been to a couple other places and they were nothing compared to Rubs. I had Erin for my massage therapist. She was professional and listened to what my pain areas were and gave the perfect amount of pressure throughout the whole massage. She was amazing to say the least. I just had my first appointment today with rubs, since one of family members was not able to make the appointment, the appointment got passed me! Lets start with the service, excellent. I arrived at 3:25, 5 minutes before my appointment, since I had some paperwork to fill out. As soon as I was done, I met my licensed therapist Cheyenne. It was comfortable and relaxed, we had a discussion for a few minutes and explained to her my physical limitations and that I had never had a massage in the United States before, so I was unaware. She went over the appointment with me and I opted for something relaxing. With that, she left room and I mentally prepared myself. I have problems relaxing sometimes and being in my boxers under a blanket, is a bit unusual for me, but thousands of people do this, why not me. I then had an hour of delightful stress relaxing massage, with near the end, nice wrapped warm feet. I mus say that the room was very quiet, with some nice flute music playing in the background. This place is family friendly, relaxing and private. Very friendly staff, and well worth the visit. I will return for some more therapeutic massage in the future. read more

It is difficult to find a good massage place, but this place has fantastic masseuses. I took my mother in law, and we both throughly enjoyed our massages. Andy was my therapist and she had extensive knowledge of the workings of the human body and frame. I have a hip injury and I have been seeing a chiropractor for my neck as well. She specializes in working on athletes so it was a match made in heaven. My chiropractor noticed instantly that I had done something different over the weekend. This was the first time I went to get a massage at Rubs and I was very impressed! I really liked how accommodating they were. I did the "escape" package which is an hour massage and a half hour facial. I was able to schedule an appointment the same day which was helpful. I have been having lower back pain so they were able to go in and work out the pain. It was amazing. I really enjoyed all the relaxation. After my massage I went to get a facial and it was the first one I ever had. It was more than amazing!!! I wished I would have chose the hour long facial too. I've been here a few times for a deep tissue massage. This review is long overdue but every time I had a massage it didn't disappoint. The prices are reasonable, its quiet, and the rooms are dim, clean, and nicely set up. My therapist was nice to talk with, professional, and always concerned about how I was feeling during the massage. I will definitely be back as soon as I can get a few extra bucks together! They only seem to have inexperienced therapists right out of school. They allow you to pay more for a therapist with more experience, but I couldn't tell the difference. Being a teacher, getting massages isn't a frequent occurrence(I've only had two). But one day after weeks of having a knot near my shoulder blade, I gave in and ponied up. I got the $65 one hour massage and it was fantastic! She went to work on the area of concern and was very accommodating by asking how the pressure was and making adjustments as necessary. By the time the full body treatment was done, I had wished I had gotten the 1.5 hour. The studio was nice and clean and everyone was really nice and pleasant. I can say it was just as good as my $150 massage I got at the Boulders in Scottsdale. I can't wait to indulge at Rubs again. read more
