My aunt comes here all the time for manicures and pedicures so we went together when I was visiting her. It's in a little plaza and doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside it was quite busy. We were greeted right away and asked to sit and told the wait would be about 15 minutes and to choose our colour. We decided on just a pedicure because of the busyness. We were both seated together about 25 minutes later but it was nice to be able to sit beside each other and have our pedicures done at the same time. They are REALLY busy- plan well in advance! I wanted to come for the May special this year, which was a Shellac mani. The service itself was great. Lots of colours to choose from, and the Shellac was very good- my nails stayed on without chips for actual weeks, when I couldn't get away with them anymore. Removal is $6 which is also very reasonable. + Monthly specials + Good quality + Great prices + I got a nail design and it was just what I wanted, and it stayed. -They are busy which is great but I waited 1.5 hours after my appointment time to actually get services. I went with my friend and I'm glad we didn't have anything else planned that evening! -I have only been once, but my friend went again and said she waited 30 minutes after her appointment time. I will certainly go again, it's a great place with great prices, but I will either book early or show up a bit late... Or bring a book to wait! read more

Went here today for a shellac manicure. For a $30 manicure I would expect it to be neat and clean but when I left I noticed that she didn't remove the polish that was left on my skin. After having to pick it off, the skin around my nails is kind of ruined. Appreciate the care on my cuticles but the paint wasn't the best job. read more

I decided one Friday after being sick of with looking at my boyfriends' troll feet, that it was time for a pedi. I also opted for one because hey, it's sandal weather. So I rang them up around noon, and got appointments for 1pm. They were not at all busy when we got there, only 2 other clients, and seated us right away. Now, we've gone for pedicures together before and usually, when they realize they'll be working with my boyfriend's feet, they get all giggly and awkward and generally rush through his pedicure. This was NOT the case here, and they were so gracious to him, and she put in the time and effort to make his feet look just as nice as mine. I can't tell you how much I appreciated this. My pedicurist was just as lovely. She was overall gentle, and applied just enough pressure when scraping and exfoliating to get the job done without being painful. Also, my polish looked FAB and my feet are finally summer ready! I will wholeheartedly return here for all my pedi/mani/facial needs! read more

Horrible experience so I went in 3 days ago with my niece lady said I would have wait as we didnt have an appointment, witch was totally ok! We expected it....then within like 7 mins theres another lady rushing in to do my nails....she was kind but... it felt like she rushed my fill like she had somewheres to be. So we get home look at our nails more closely they are totally uneven and bumpy, my nieces tips aren't even attached to her finger so I call to go back in that was no problem. Here's where the fun stuff started I go in explain to them the problem the owner says no no there beautiful theres nothing wrong I was like look there are bumps its uneven they dont look good. She said ok then says she'll just fix the 1... when 7 of my nails where like that. I was like what about the others? She said there fine I said I dont like them and if you aren't going to fix it I'll go some where else. So she fixes them and as I was waiting to get them done I picked a new colour because well she will be painting them again anyway, she said that it would be an extra $20 (hello your painting them again..) and wanted me to remember the exact colour I had on.. she finished fixing my nails witch took and HOUR AND A HALF! to find out with the polish on you and still see the freaking bumps!!!! Worst experience I've ever had poor customer service, poor craftsman ship, poor quality and a huge lak of detail will not be returning here again and will advise people to stay away!!!! read more

Ruby Nails is my favorite salon for getting a pedicure. I go about every 4-5 weeks due to heavy calluses building up quickly on my feet. The girls who work there are all very pleasant and courteous to all customers. I find the price to be very affordable. read more

Overall completely dissatisfied with the service I received. The girls in there are nice, but none of them speak English it took both my friend and I several repeats to barely understand what was being said to us. The owner Ruby was also very rude to me even though all I did was ask if there's an additional discount if I pay in cash, as many places in the Waterloo area have. After about a day my shellac started to YELLOW, which is an indication of cheap polish and turned from the colour I originally wanted (an elegant purple grey) into a greenish grey that is definitely not attractive. Would not recommend to anybody read more

Have been here twice first for wedding nails second time just for shellac polish. First off we made an appointment 2 days in advance and when we got here they served my friend then when she was done me. We had booked both for the same time. It gets worse from there. Instead of watching them properly wash the tools I saw her give them a quick wipe with a cloth then reuse the same tools. Not on myself but the person next to me. The lady did also not speak enough English to even understand how I wanted my nails let alone ask her about this. My wedding nails looked great but it isn't worth taking the chance with unwashed tools. read more

Don't expect to walk in with an idea in mind or even a picture of a nail design you want. If they are unable to do it, they will blame you for confusing them and tell you that your design is something that its not. Example, I wanted a simple shellac ombre (nude to white) and they tried to push a french tip design instead of the specific OMBRE I asked for. They attempted to "try" an ombre, which ended up looking like a smear of white brush strokes covered in pink. Exactly as awful as it sounds. Then when I said I didn't like it, they told me to just pay them $10 and to go to another salon. Moral of the story, go to Ruby Nails for very simplistic nail polish changes. PS: they dont even know how to properly cut lines - my friend's shellac mani was very messy and bubbly. :) read more

I would give this salon a 0 star rating if I could. I booked an appointment for a group of 5, and we were told to come at 6pm. We arrived about 20 minutes early and the ladies at the salon were shocked to see us. They said we were too early; we said we are OK with waiting until 6 but they didn't seem happy with this. Closer to 6pm, a group of 7 arrived. The girls working at the salon then told me that me and my group did not have an appointment at their salon (which I have the call logs to prove I did). They were very nice to the other group, perhaps because they had two more clients than us... Not sure. They made it very obvious they wanted us to leave by repeatedly telling me we don't have an appointment. While we waited, one of them took a walk-in (and they still had not seen any of us yet). One of the ladies working there told me that she was worried another salon was waiting for me . I felt embarassed but refused to leave without having our nails done. While we were finally getting our nails done, one of their workers admitted that she accidently double booked. We were not apologized to. We got to the salon at 6pm and were there until close to 9pm. The workers were SOOOO RUDE to us. I would rather go to Conestoga Mall- Nails for you anyday. They treat their clients with respect. I wish I could protest infront of this salon about how bad they suck. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I went in for a acrylic removal and new colour. I was the only customer at that time 2:30pm-4:00pm on a Tuesday. They lady that did my nails was very nice. She didn't speak English fluently but she tried her best to attend to my needs. She even asked a younger employee what I was asking to make sure she understood. She would apologize when she accidentally filed my finger. Accidents happen, I didn't mind but I appreciated the apologies. She was fast at removing my old long ballerina acrylics and did her best to shape my nails (I wanted them straight). The result wasn't as good as I had hoped. Overall the shaping I'd rate a 4/5 (my right index finger was slanted and some fingers didn't match the left hand) but the colour job on my right hand was very rushed. I'd rate the left hand colour 4/5 and right hand 3/5. My right pinky was blotchy and there was gel polish over my cuticles on some fingers. I'm not very picky, I normally get my nails done at my salon in Toronto anyways (Ananeke Beauty Salon and Spa at 2357 Yonge Street. They're the absolute best. I highly recommend them if you're in the Yonge-Eglinton area). Unfortunately, I will not be going back. Even in an emergency, I will find another salon. read more

My mom and I decided to go and get pedicures and after reading all of the great reviews for Ruby Nails, it is where we chose to go. We will not be going back. I called well in advance to make an appointment and made it clear that there was two of us getting our feet done. There was only one staff person doing our pedicures which could have been fine if she staggered the steps for each of us. My pedicure was completely finished all at once, by the time it was my moms turn, the water she was soaking her feet in was cold and she had been waiting 30 minutes, having nothing done. The nail technician that was working on another client was, in my opinion, not as professional as she could have been. The concept of this salon is very open, therefore I do not think it is professional to be discussing personal matters that are not appropriate to be discussed in the work setting while other clients are present. As for my actual pedicure, I do not feel it was worth the price. I have a very small baby toe that is quite difficult to apply nail polish to, but I expect that if any polish gets on my skin, it will be washed off, which it was not. Overall, my experience was not good. read more
