I didn't get my normal girl. This one I got was pushy and like a file ninja... she scared me. I couldn't relax. She burned me a few times and i couldn't even move my hand away... she had a death grip on my finger lol. My nails look horrible. She painted over nail dust which you can see clearly. She filed into my nail bed which hurt like hell. The gel isn't even (due to being in Hurry) 60 bucks.. plus I didn't get any oil on cuticles or a hand message. read more

I came into the salon for the first time yesterday, and Cindy gave me the best manicure of my life. Also, very reasonable prices. It was clear they put safety measures in place (this review is late October 2020,) so I had no health worries. I noticed shields between where the customer and nail artist sit, which also put me at ease. When speaking with my nail artist, we could still hear each other just fine, and there wasn't any need to raise our voices to be heard. Even though I showed up early, they got me started right away and wasted no time, but I didn't ever feel rushed. I showed Cindy, my nail artist, a picture of my vision - almond-shaped ombre French manicure (classic white). This was the first salon experience when I didn't need to sacrifice my natural nails that took months to grow! It's important to note that the conversation with my nail artist was pleasant and professional. I'm very funny about going into these places because it makes me uncomfortable when it's clear whoever is helping me tries to push me into buying something I don't want to buy or asks weird personal questions. I didn't experience any of that there and will return there any time I have the chance. The way she held my fingers for the filing was gentle but stable, and she didn't nick skin on the sides of my nails that bulge over on to the nail. She sculpted my nails so they were balanced for optimized strength. She knew how to make it look as natural as possible, while also being strong to prevent my tips from lifting or nasty breaks. Cindy blended the gel in so that it was thinner in the area before my nail plate meets the cuticle (the spot where it usually shows where your nails grow out). This is one of the hardest things to do, in my opinion, but also the most worthwhile, because it means that when my nails grow out, it won't be as visible if that part was thick, even with clear/translucent gel. It takes a lot of control to do that, and also showed me they're all about giving you the same kind of manicure they'd give a personal friend. This was the cheapest gel removal and manicure I've ever had and is by far the best professional results I've experienced in my life. I won't bore you with pricing because I found them beforehand on the Facebook page under "Services". When I do mine myself, I need to fill and redo them, so it makes sense that when you're having someone else do your nails, maintenance is necessary. When you get your hair cut, you come in with the understanding that your hair will grow and you'll eventually need to come back, and it's the same with nails, because they grow too. Another note is that while she encouraged me to return for a fill-in three weeks, she outlined a long term plan with which my goals would be reached as my natural nails grow, with the ultimate goal of reinforcing the strength of my paper-thin nails with gel on top. There are so many details that showed me they actually put the client and the manicure first. This was the cheapest gel removal and manicure I've ever had and is by far the best professional results I've experienced in my life. I couldn't participate in their Halloween giveaway because I'm moving away from the area within a few days and wouldn't want a prize to go to waste, but I think they do other prizes and that such, and not just Halloween. They didn't have a tip option on the debit machine so I left a cash tip. Trust me, you'll want to tip, so if you're ok to carry a little cash, I'd keep that in mind. read more

I got my nails done here by a woman who took her time and made them look absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, a few days later my nail broke so I went back to get it fixed (I've never had a nail break before). A man who I've never seen do nails before "fixed" it, and it looked worse than when my nail was actually broken. The shape looked nothing like the shape of all my other nails, it was lumpy because he didn't shave it down after putting the gel on, and the sides weren't painted. I was informed by my roommate when I got home that he doesn't actually do nails and that he is just the owner. I guess they were so busy that they just stuck me with him instead of letting me wait for the woman who initially did them. They definitely lost a customer. read more

I liked how quickly both my manicure and pedicure were done, but their tone of voice and customer service skills were horrible - to the point of being rude, pushy and unprofessional. I really wanted to like this place! The prices are great, I usually get my nails done in Toronto but was looking for a place in Guelph to go to regularly. I did not realize how many reviews are not recommended, and perhaps I should have read those first. I got a shellac manicure and it must have been the worst and most rushed manicure I've ever gotten. The lady who did my nails didn't have a name tag, but it was like she was in a competition with all the other workers to see how many people she could get through. I asked for my nails to be filed only and not cut, yet she made the executive decision to cut my nails VERY short. As well, the colour I picked was out so she made another decision to pick the 'closest' colour, which was not close at all to what I wanted. The job was very messy. I still have nail shavings on my arms and clear shellac polish on my fingers and in between my nails. There was NO care in this job and I tipped accordingly to how poorly the job was done. She only put two layers on my nails, so I highly doubt the job will last. She was very rude and said, "you're done", practically shooing me out of my seat and urging me to pay and leave. Of course, there is variability with whoever you get, but this kind of attitude should not be accepted as it will most likely have me not returning again. I would rather pay more and get a proper job done elsewhere. This lady was obviously all about how much money she could make and speed was how she did that. She didn't properly push back or clean my cuticles or file my nails, I would say all those jobs took her around a minute. I feel as if I was in and out within 10 minutes, and I already had preexisting shellac polish, which usually takes 10 minutes alone to remove. If the job was done quickly but PROPERLY, I would not complain. But this was been a truly terrible experience and I wish I never came here. read more

Love this place! I went in for a shellac manicure with no appointment and I did not wait at all. Mary did a wonderful job on my nails, especially cleaning them up before she painted them. The service was absolutely professional and efficient! This is one of the best manicures I have gotten and it only took about 30 minutes. The salon is very nice and in an accessible location. The price was very reasonable, $25 for the shellac manicure. The salon is very busy and my only comment is that it could be a little bit cleaner. Horrible experience. I should have listened to the other review I read on Facebook in which they had almost the exact same experience. The lady doing my nails asked me if I wanted to do shellac, and when I asked how much it was she said $10 dollars more, and I politely said "no thank you." She LAUGHED at me and said word for word: "is ten dollars too much for you?" An unbelievably rude thing to say in any context but especially in a customer service setting! They also wouldn't do what we wanted for my niece's nails, even though I asked many times AND showed them pictures from THEIR Facebook page of what we wanted. I was clear and asked several times but the more I asked the more the lady became annoyed with me - she didn't even explain why she couldn't do it, she just kept saying no and giving me a frustrated look. When I asked the manager at the end and showed her their Facebook photo of what we wanted, she tried to laugh it off and said maybe they didn't do it because that's shellac (the exact thing they were trying to sell to me directly), which I would've gladly paid the extra $10 for for my niece. When I asked why her employee didn't just tell me it was shellac and do it, she just kept smiling and laughing and then offered to add a pattern to only ONE more of my niece's nails. So my niece ended up with work she didn't want at all: one colour (she had chosen two and I would've gladly paid extra for her to have them if they had explained or said anything at all, which they didn't), and one weird pattern that we didn't ask for on one nail. Have been going for years but getting too busy. That is not the only problem. I had a pedicure before a vacation on July13th. Both my big toes are still infected. Very sore and redness and swollen.
