Polo Millanese. Looked too good not to eat. When will I remember to take the picture first! BTW it tasted as good as it looked.

Exceptionally priced offer for dinner. 3 courses for £20.. ok £19.99 in the heart of the city 2 minutes walk from St Paul's is to be applauded.. even more so when the food is good. Tucked away on a side street just off Cheapside this Italian has improved since I last visited it 3 years ago. This time I had a pizza base starter that was quite filling with a rich tomato and basil base. The dough reminded me of the doughnut bread and had a similar texture without any sweetness. I liked it. The main of Polo Millanese had a succulent chicken wrapped in bread crumbs with a side of buttered seasoned small potatoes. So far I was enjoying the food. The desert was the house terrimusu (spell checker on phone does not work!!!). It was fresh and home made.. Three out of three... well done. The restaurant was pretty quiet on a Friday night which is a shame but I suspect that there main income is at lunch. It has an upstairs and downstairs which are clean and comfortable. The staff are polite and the food we as quick to arrive. We liked the wine selection and enjoyed the night talking about some issue or other. This is a good restaurant, of course I could reccomend exceptional Italian restaurants but never at this price in this area.

What can I say about this amazing Italian restaurant based in the city location of St Paul's? It's my favourite of course. Been back so many times with friends and it's friendly service and fresh menus( changes did to season) never fails to impress me or any of the Friends I bring along. Some have even told me they have returned with their friends too. My favourite starters are the fried seafood and the Parma ham... I still last after the Pork dish I had it was amazing!!! Prices are very reasonable, as they do fixed priced menu or look out for Groupon vouchers to have your very first experience of it! Due to location of it, it does cater for the local offices but the food and friendly atmosphere makes me wanna come back time and time again!

Great authentic Italian food in London! Reminds me of the pasta I had in Italy. We ordered the scallops and squid ink appetizer, the beef carpaccio, the pacchero pomodoro, the scialatielli mare, the taglitelle vesuvio, and the squid ink spaghettone. Pasta was cooked wonderfully al dante. I really enjoyed the squid ink spaghettone and the scallops appetizer. Service was a bit slow but this place does get busy during lunch.

What a pleasant Italian restaurant in St Pauls. Went for lunch yesterday with a colleague and waiters were generally pleasant. There were a lot of reservations but we were able to do a walk in and sit upstairs. Generally catering for business and working clientele, the upstairs is very sunny and bright in the afternoon. It tends towards more quiet business conversations. Food is really good. Portions are just right so you are not overtly full. I ordered their Tagliatelle Vesuvio £13.45 Home made fresh egg taliatelle with veal meatballs, porcini and chestnut mushrooms, cream, chilli and parmesan. This was really tasty and I really enjoyed it. Pasta was nice and hot and freshly made. Sauce was especially tasty and I would highly recommend it. Tiramisu was a decent portion and tastes ok, more average than exceptional though. Came to around £15 per person including a soft drink for lunch. Not bad.

Humble, simple Italian restaurant near St. Paul's where the servers speak....wait for it...Italian! So comforting to hear that warm, melodic accent while you eat delicious classics with a fine dining twist. Rucoletta is truly a find among the average and tired Italian restaurants around central London. Its decor consists of a subdued and unassuming black and white with a matching storefront. However, inside there is authentic Italian (there will be calves liver and cheese stuffed veal). -The linguine with a half lobster was a crowd pleaser among out crowd of 8. -My cheese stuffed pan friend veal escalope was perfection and made it's way around a few plates for a slice. -The seafood bisque was a whole Noah's arc of creatures la mer and a large portion to boot. -My trio of bruschette was nice, though the one with simply cut cherry tomatoes was slightly basic compared to its two fine compatriots. The seating is divided into an area right next to the door, a more whimsical area in the back with a skylight room, and the quieter downstairs. The wine here is gorgeous and we had more than a couple bottles between us. To top it all off, Rucoletta take the TasteCard, making this gourmet meal more than affordable. Look for their two-course dinner and lunch deals which are amazing value. And I hear they now to takeaway and delivery. Modernizing while maintaining traditional roots.

    The prefix menu

I had the prefix Bruschetta (starter) which was delicious with fresh tasty tomatoes, the Tagliatelle Bolognese (main), which was very good as well with a hearty meat sauce and vanilla dessert which was not to my liking but my partner at his and mine. My partner had the salad to start and it was a bit too salty (maybe too heavy on the dressing), and the Pollo Paesano for his main dish. The chicken was moist and yummy with a spicy kick. We were both happy with the bill and the £31 dinner price.

    Veal ragu pasta

Loved, loved, loved this place! The wait staff was amazing and the food followed suit. We had the veal ragu pasta and the ribeye bisteca, both amazing. Italian wine recommended fit the meal and we enjoyed the chocolate "fondant" dessert which is a soufflé that is worth the wait. Overall, a fantastic meal.

    intimate main dining

A lovely place for lunch or dinner. Its small, cozy, romantic and intimate. From a distance we thought the place was closed, but it was actually open so actually go up to the door to check. Prices are not bad at all - lunch/dinner three course fixed menu for 20 pounds! However, note 12.5% service fee is added to the bill, although no cover charge. Food was good for the most part. The bean soup and mozzarella toast appetizer were wonderful. The bread with the meal was not free and not that good - some chunks of oily foccacio. The fish dish had a very small portion - just a sliver with the skin on. The penne was pretty good and good portion size - but excessively spicy which was a surprise and we couldn't really finish it, and seemed to stay with us for the rest of the day. Tiramisu and gelato deserts were good. Wine was good. Bread : Not free, and not very good. :(

It's located in an old wine cellar (the oldest in London) and dimly lit by candles. If you are looking for a spot that matches the dark and moody London aesthetic and offers plenty of history, this place is perfect for you. I was very surprised by the quick wait time. We travelled in August which is their busiest time of year and the most we had to wait for a table was maybe 10 minutes. This place seems to be a true hidden gem and more popular among locals than tourists. The cheese boards are delicious and just as unique as the place itself. They have plenty of flavors to choose from and have several different options depending on your budget. We went with the two cheese board and everything included paired perfectly with the wine. The staff was great at giving us recommendations and even let us sample several flavors before committing. We loved this place so much we decided to come back our last day for round two. If you are travelling to London, I highly recommend adding this wine bar to your list of places to eat or drink in the city.

Really cool atmosphere with a low cave ceiling, comprehensive wine list and lots of cheese, charcuterie and some other British favorites. We began with wine, rose bubbles and a glass of champagne- unfortunately my champagne was room temperature which is a per peeve of mine but the rose bubbles were served ice cold in a cold glass?! My husband did enjoy his wine! We were asked about food but they never came back so we decided to enjoy our drinks and the unique atmosphere before heading out
