Long story short: They damaged my posters requiring me to have them professionally…read morerestored and only offered me a partial refund (minus the sales tax, which is illegal) only after I asked for a full one. Picture shows the worst poster but all 3 have to be professionally evaluated to even see if they can be salvaged. I brought in 3 very large vintage, Italian movie posters about 39" x 55" to find out what options they had for mounting temporarily on some kind of backing to help store them more safely and press out some of the creases as they had been folded while in storage. I was given the option of pressing and mounting them to a foam board backing product called "KoolTak," and was told by two employees that it was temporary and removable so that they could possibly be fully restored elsewhere in the future. After about 2 years of sitting in climate controlled storage, the temperature never going above 75°, all the posters bubbled up from the backing and many of the creases from the folds raised off the board and puffed out and wrinkled. I took them back to see what could be done and left them for the owner to look at and decide what to do. I also asked for a quote to remove them from the foam board backing because I was going to list them online and would need to roll them for shipping and whoever purchases them may want to have them fully restored. No one contacted me about what options there were to correct the issues, or to give me a quote for removal. They took it upon themselves to simply repress the posters and try to smooth out the bubbles and creases, then called me to come pick them up. When I arrived, they didn't look much better, and they said that's the best they could do. When I asked about the quote for removal, they told me that they cannot be removed, and that the posters are now permanently mounted to the board...I was absolutely shocked. I would have NEVER done this if I had any concern whatsoever that they would be PERMANENTLY GLUED to these boards, and glued to them with bubbles and raised creases. I stood there in disbelief and listened to their apologies, the employees, not the owner, as he has never once bothered to contact me. They also informed me they will no longer be offering this service, but too late for me. I was extremely upset and left, and after contacting a restoration company to get an idea of the cost, I called Dadeland Framing back to ask for a full refund and after the employee spoke to the owner, they called me back to say he was only willing to give me a partial refund minus sales tax. His reasoning was that it had been two years and that I may not have stored them properly causing the bubbles, which is understandable, even though I did. But, I was not asking for a refund only because of the bubbles, but because I now have to incur the expense of shipping them to a professional restoration company to attempt to remove them from the foam board backing. I told them to keep their partial refund and they'd never get my business again.

I shopped around for services (even contemplated trying to frame a bunch of things on my own) and came across this company's living social deal (in Nov. 2012). I thought they would jack up the prices to dilute the coupon, but it was so affordable that I got everything I wanted framed PLUS two additional pieces that I hadn't anticipated framing and was able to get a refund for one certificate (bought 3, used 2). The first place I went to wanted to charge me over $700 for 5 items. I paid 1/4 of what I would have paid had I gone to the first place (I used the living social coupon - for argument's sake - had I not used the coupon, I still would have saved almost 50% from the first place I went to). Second, the service was just as excellent as the value. The associate working at the time sat down with me for over an hour and walked me through each piece I had brought in to frame. She went through different mattes and frame colors/styles until we saw the combos that looked good. Also, I went on a Monday to pick up my frames, and even though they were only open for appointment only on Mondays, a man, whom I believe to be the store owner, let me pick up my framed work! Great place, great service, great value. I highly recommend! Very satisfied customer!

The staff is polite, respectful, easy to talk to and bilingual. Not only did they understand the language of framing but also my needs and sensibilities. I had a large oil painting framed in a beautiful gold finish, five smaller frames perfect for the pulp magazine covers I had collected and one exist frame reworked so that it would fit the fruit crate label that was displayed. My reworked frame was completed under the guidelines that if it didn't work it was no ones fault -- which I felt was completely understandable and fine. I was taking a chance and understood the risks. But everything worked out better then I could have dreamed and it was worthwhile driving all that way. I would do it again. My last comment is that they are closed on Mondays.
