Have been going here a couple years and always had a great experience, and had initially given them 5 stars. However, had to downgrade as recently, I called to ask about having three pieces framed at once. I spoke to the owner, and asked that since I've been a loyal customer and will be bringing in multiple pieces at once, if there was any opportunity for a small discount. He laughed at me and said no, he doesn't do discounts. I pointed out that I've spend hundreds of dollars at his small business over the years, and he laughed again and said he doesn't do discounts even for people who spend "thousands of dollars." I wasn't looking for a large discount, just something to make it worth my while considering I've thrown a lot of money at Dadeland Framing when I could have easily been going to Michael's. Most small business owners recognize the importance of building relationships with customers and rewarding them for being loyal. Unfortunately, it appears that entrepreneurship isn't this business owner's strength. His responses were dismissive and condescending, which is weird considering one of his employees, Les, begged me to give them a Yelp review after my first piece was framed by them, in order to boost their rating and help them compete against commercial framers. My recommendation is to just get your stuff framed at Michael's or another similar commercial venture. It's the same quality for less money. read more

This review is long overdue. I have had the fortunate to use Dadeland Framing twice. When I could not find a quality framed mirror, I was recommended Dadeland Framing. The selection was a plethora of varied styles, which was exactly what I was looking for. The quality of the mirror did not distort. The second time I used them was to repair a painting damaged by Hurricane Andrew. The painting and frame was and is extremely sent to me. The workmanship, love and care put into this painting and old frame brought me to tears. I highly recommend Dadeland Framing. The experience was beyond professional and caring. Went into Dadeland Framing looking for help with getting a Heat Jersey signed for my Son's Birthday not knowing or expecting much. The staff at Dadeland Framing was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They helped exposing the process and my different options for my son's birthday present. After hearing their advice and selecting the type of frame we would use Dadeland Framing made it a priority so it would be ready for my son to open on his birthday. While I went in expecting to get him something to hang on his wall what I walked out with was a piece of art that he will (hopefully) have for the rest of his life to remember his 11th birthday and the best basketball team in the world. I tried to frame a poster and the owner showed up throwing $400 dollars for framing and started bragging about his 30 year old business and claiming inflation has increased its price tremendously. After I refused to pay and was ready to leave to find another store, he showed another frame and suddenly reduced the cost to $160. Definitely not a place I would recommend for framing. read more

The absolute worst. Steve lost my item and refused to replace my painting or refund my purchase with the store for the framing. No communication. Terrible business and extremely unprofessional. Yelp makes you give at least one star, but honestly this business isn't even worth that. Add to that the owner responded to my review on Google and flat-out lied. Claimed they call multiple times and leave messages. They never called once and I never got any messages. They just threw away my artwork (or more likely the scummy owner probably kept it to hang on his wall). Absolute scammers. Please do yourself a favor an ignore this place so you don't have to deal with making a claim with the BBB like I do. read more

HANG IT UP!!!! I should have known there would have been a problem from a business who closes for 2 weeks during the Christmas holidays. (must not need the money). I choose this place because of the great reviews on Yelp. (what are you Yelper's on? ;) ) I have several pieces needing to be framed and thought I'd give this place a try with one...the easiest one. A large print which would take no imagination to frame, as I had a picture of it already framed and just wanted it copied in the same manner. So after trying to get in for 2 weeks, I finally made it! I met with Steve. He unrolled my print which was still wrapped up from the artist and as he slid a weight over it and a mark appeared. I can't be certain if it was already there, but I believe he did it. Luckily he was able to clean it up. Steve couldn't seem to work his own computer program to give me a price. After much manual calculations, he gave me an estimate and said he would have to recalculate and give me a new price. He said it would most likely be less (it never was, when I returned, he forgot all about saying that). A month and many excuses later on why it took so long to complete, I went to pick it up. OMG! ARE YOU BLIND. The frame was scratched, the mat had over 10 dirty marks on it (including a foot print), the print was not centered under the mat, the joints on the frame did not butt up...and the list goes on and on. SO POORLY DONE, EVEN RAY CHARLES COULD SEE IT. A very nice young man, Josh, who works there helped me now...trying to correct all the problems. It obviously had to be redone. This now took another 2 weeks. While I was going over all the problems with Josh, Steve walked in. He looked upset that I was not accepting the framing as is and when I pointed out all the problems, never said sorry. That might have gone a long way but instead he just stood there and mumbled under his breath. If wasn't for Josh, I'm sure I would have to had filed some sort of claims again Steve. I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS BUSINESS. MAY MY STORY BE A WARNING TO YOU. PROCEED IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BY TIME AND PATIENCE TO WASTE, AND DON'T MIND GETTING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE UP. DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOU PRECIOUS ITEMS. AND BACK TO MY TITLE... STEVE, TIME TO RETIRE. HANG IT UP! read more

Very grateful to the pros at Dadeland framing! I had brought them around 15 paintings from South America to be framed with high quality/elegant frames. I also needed some additional frames for items that would memorialize my late father. Needed them to look amazing as we would be hanging them at our restaurants located on Bird Rd and South Beach. I was very impressed as Steve and his team spent many hours with me to select the right frames and matte for each piece. Really appreciated that they did not rush me through this process (hundreds to choose from) and took great care in making sure that each piece would look great. In the end the paintings from Peru looked amazing and the pieces that they made to remember my late father left me speechless. It meant a lot to myself and my staff at both restaurants to be able to see my fathers achievements framed in such an elegant manner. One of my girlfriends recommended this place to me. She told me to avoid the owner(Steve) and speak to Josh. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to even meet him. As I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted with this foul odor of cigarettes, and beans. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my art there. It's unfortunate because Josh did an amazing job on my friends watercolors. But definitely not some place I wanted to leave my pictures. I decided right then and there to take my artwork elsewhere. I had two pictures that needed framing; one a retro poster from the 1950's and one a 1930's ad promotional. I went to Dadeland Framing and was fortunate to meet Steve, the owner. he gave me some really interesting ideas as to how to properly mount and frame the 1930's promotional piece, and I said go for it. When I picked up the two pieces I was completely amazed at how beautifully he had mounted and framed the piece. It was far beyond my expectations. I went into the store at 6 pm, which I think was closing time, but the "Open" sign was lit up, so I decided to try it. I was visiting my mom and leaving town the following day. My mom had wanted me to go to a "one-hour" framing store, but it was out of the way. The owner of Dadeland Framing was great in helping me find a frame for my painting. He did not rush me. When he heard I was leaving town and hoped I could get the job done before then, he searched his in-stock frames and found one for me. He wasn't able to price it due to a computer problem, but said he thought it would cost $79-99. The following day, he called and said it would be ready for pickup at 11:00 am. The price turned out to be about $27 more than the high estimate. I wasn't thrilled, but I didn't want to start over again. When I went to pick up the piece, it was not ready. The owner could see I was disappointed - I had just picked up food at Roasters n Toasters across the street and had to bring it inside from the hot car to wait. He finished the framing job ASAP and then took it upon himself to deduct $20 from the price for the wait. I was surprised and grateful for the discount and very happy that I was able to get the small job completed before I had to leave town. Excellent customer service - I would visit the business again. read more
