It was a Wednesday morning and parking was abundant. Signs were speckled throughout the parking lot marking the Ebey Waterfront Trail and where to find it. Exploring around the parking lot, there was a playground and a few short docks out over the water along a muddy boat launch area. Venturing out on the Ebey Waterfront Trail, I found a variety of small birds foraging in the vegetation along the trail as well as a great blue heron wading in the water and occasionally plunging its head into the water to catch a fish. A spattering of wildflowers were also in bloom along the trail. The walking path itself was flat, paved, and yielded infrequent shade. Returning to my car, a few great blue herons flew off along the river.

Steve and I were in Monroe and were trying to find something to do. We were waiting for some people…read moreto meet at the fairgrounds in town and had some time to kill so we picked this park for a small excursion. It's beautiful being so close to the river and at the time there was fog present which for me I often enjoy as it adds layers and atmosphere at certain times and it did so here. There were also sand bars near the river we went on. The path we used started at another park, right next to Al Borlin and then led us back to Al Borlin. We wouldn't have known the difference between the two parks if it wasn't for the signs posted. We got some beautiful views of the mountains (which I think were the Enchantments) and of the river again from a different vantage point. This park would be great to come to during any of the four seasons as you are bound to get some beauty each time along with the seasonal aspect at work.

We live in the apartments by this park. Every time my 5 year old and I would go, bums everywhere…read more They built a little compound under a beautiful old tree by the creek. At night you can see lighters flicking on and off. Our apartment faces the creek and I hear people screaming at all hours of the night. I would never go there alone. It's sad because it's so beautiful but not safe. unfortunately, the police cant do anything unless they are committing a crime.

What a neat spot! I…read morewas just out on a drive with my two sons and nephew whom were all getting a big stir crazy.. I stumbled upon this place and pulled into the small, unassuming parking lot. There are a few benches right as you pull in that have a nice view of scenery. As you walk down a semi steep slope, you are met with open field and a few lakes. We kept walking straight which led us onto a trail. There were many branches and obstructions on the path so just be careful! We stopped and had a beautiful view of a private beach along the river. I'm glad I stopped here with my family. It was good exercise and a lovely time spent with Mother Nature.

Each turn I felt like a creepy person was going to emerge from the shrubbery. The one paved trail on the outside before your walk pass the bridge that runs along the river feels safer. Many people walk there. Osprey were diving into the river which kept us watching for about 15 minutes. A bald eagle swooped along the area. If you ignore the sewage plant it's ok to walk for about 30 minutes then you want to get out of there. I might go back but I'm sure parking will be a hassle because the parking lot is like 0.1 miles from the bridge. If you drive pass the parking lot which holds 10 cars or so then you need to reverse back or U-turn carefully back the parking lot. If you don't like to reverse drive then be very aware of the parking lot. ENJOY!

With covid and social distancing I've been seeking out new places to walk. It's been awhile since…read moreI've been out this way, but it seems drastically different from when I was here last. I read an article saying that a Discover Pass was now required for a parking lot near here, but I was not able to find this parking lot. The parking lot I did use appeared to be free and was a teeny bit of a walk down a paved road with no sidewalks to the park. This nature area seems a bit out of place here as it is mostly hidden behind some industrial buildings, but really is a cool place to check out. The bridge appears to signify the entrance to the island. There were a few sketchy looking cars parked closest the entry, but this area seemed to imply parking was not allowed. Across the bridge there is a porta potty, but it was pretty disgusting. You can also access the park entrance by walking along the Langus river trail. We opted to make a loop to the park by walking to the bridge via the trail and then going back to the car via the road. Once on the island you have the option to go left or right, left appears to be towards a hunting area. There were no hunters when we visited and it was still a nice area to check out, but the actual walking area is a loop to the right. This area has some nice bridges to cross and pretty views. You can see an old closed off boardwalk that shows a little of what the area was like before. We saw lots of cool birds and few people, this was a great walk on a sunny day. There's some benches, we might bring a picnic next time.

This little park is tucked away off the beaten path--and beaten it is. Truck traffic and weathering…read morehas created an uneven road that has large pockets of standing water when it rains. Be careful of deep troughs of water and racing truck drivers! Once you're there, though, you'll find a well-kept parking lot and grounds, with the swiftly flowing Snohomish River as the perfect view for a contemplative dog walk, a jog, lunch inside your car, meditation on a bench, or a picnic in the open-air structure that houses several tables. While we were there on a Tuesday afternoon there were only two or three other cars there. We didn't stay long but it was nice to have lunch here and take a short walk afterward. Even the bathroom was well maintained. Views of the wilds of Ferry Baker Island and the ever changing water of the river make this a special place not too far from home. Bonus: the animal shelter is right down the street. You can adopt or donate after you enjoy the views!

The park has now removed all doggy bags that used to be here. There is now only one trash can…read morelocated by the bathrooms to deposit your dogs poop bags. Make sure to bring your own. Cemented pathways have been updated but be aware of the past leading to the docks as the tree's roots are lifting the pathway. This is an update as of April 12th 2023.

After closer examination, we quickly realized that it is nothing to write home about. But to give it credit, it was very clean. No bathrooms, not drinking water, it does have a walking area that paved. It's more "pretty" grass than anything else. Really can't see the point in revisiting.

A new dock was put in and is wobbly you cannot stand up on it when more than one boat in trying to…read moredock. There is a 10.00 boat launch fee and and it is always very crowded with very unhappy people most of the time. On top of that, no one follows the boating rules and posted signs and often wake boards and personal seadoos do circles around the end of the dock making it perilous at best to try to dock or launch your boat. We found this true in summer and winter.
