On more than one occasion, our family has received care that we truly believe was life-saving, and we are incredibly grateful. I am allergic to several medications, and have numerous adverse reactions. Yet, he decided to prescribe me a new drug, Levaquin. Even though, he knew that the only medication I did not have a reaction to was a Zpack. Levaquin is now known for horrific adverse reactions, and is involved in several class actions. I had a horrific, terrifying reaction to Levaquin. I was transported to the ER. I stopped seeing Brooks regularly and began seeing other doctors. Years later (2021) I went to obtain my records to show a new primary my adverse reaction to this medication. To my surprise, there was no documentation of the adverse reaction, or that I was prescribed this medication at all. I went to see Brooks after the ER visit, that was not in there either. I specifically requested these documents for this adverse reaction. There was another incident in 2018, too. In my desperation for help, I reached out to Brooks (after not seeing him for a very long time). I was getting ready to take the bar (I am a lawyer) and I started having horrific panic attacks. I couldn't step outside my apartment without having a panic attack. I went to Brooks in tears asking if he could help me, and I even asked for a prescription for Xanax to help with the panic attacks. Instead he said he would prescribe me Prozac. He prescribed me either 60mg or 90mg of Prozac (I can't remember which one). When I went to the pharmacy to fill the prescription, the pharmacist asked me how long I was on the medication. I told her this was my first time filling - she told me that my doctor shouldn't have prescribed me this, that he should have started me off at 5mg. She said she'd still fill it. I was desperate and I stupidly trusted the prescription. At that point in time, it was a miracle I was even able to get to a pharmacy without a panic attack. I took the medicine and went off of it within three weeks. It was excruciating. While I think everyone's medical treatment is private, I hope this helps someone and I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. After spending time with my family during the holidays and realizing several were still seeing this doctor/going here, but never heard what I went through, I thought it best to share so people could make informed decisions.

Well- that all changed the other day when I visited Dr. Sachtleben. So what made me change my mind? First of all- his office squeezed me in even though I wasn't a regular patient. Much appreciated given I was sick and needed some help. Secondly- this guy listens. Took the time to hear why I was there all the while typing what I said into his computer so that he could refer back to it. We talked about a wide range of things and what I liked is that he did not offer up the standard doctor lines about things. There is always more than one way to solve an issue and Dr. Sachtleben subscribes to that theory. All in all- not only did he solve my health issue- but he built my trust which is what I ask for in someone who is going to partner with me on my health. He came recommended to me by another doctor that I know and trust and I feel good about recommending him here. Now if I could only learn to pronounce his name properly!!

My average waiting time is about 20 minutes, HOWEVER, they're excellent about getting you in same day if it's urgent, Which I suppose is why the wait time is a bit long. However, ultimately I continue to go bc Dr M doesn't just humor me he's listening to me, but he genuinely values what I say and think. He's not shy about taking the lead or disagreeing, but he truly collaborates with me for my best care plan.

I would like to rate this office higher but cannot…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Spratford's for almost 10 years and will not go anywhere only because of how great he is as an individual. This review though is for the practice as a whole. Time and time again over the years, this office seems to have suffered the problem of getting too large, too quickly, without enough resources. When they did their major additions and upgrades it took them months to get things together. The staff was/is over-worked and there was too much traffic at all times. Outside of that transition time hasn't been better. Getting in touch with your doctor is difficult. You have to call, leave a message, and often, even if you ask for the doctor, you get a call back from the nurse. Then you have to go through the whole process of leaving a message and waiting again. The staff and RN's have repeatedly gotten my recurring prescriptions wrong when communicating with the pharmacy, sometimes costing me dearly (I will say that the office has resolved this for me with their in house pharmacy, but I had to almost demand it). Out of all of that, my biggest complaint about the office is the general lack of attention to detail. For example, if my doctor leaves town, I have to TELL the doctor filling in to check my chart. To me this should be standard operating procedure. How can you answer a question of a patient if you haven't reviewed their file? They are too busy, without enough administrative staff, and it shows in the quality of assistance I get when I'm not with my doctor. (I'm surprised there's a hidden review here that says pretty much the same thing. I knew when I came on here that I couldn't possibly be the only person who's noticed this problem creep up over the years)

She is young, probably in her 30s, and just very attentative to me. I've seen doctors in the past who were eager to get you in and out, but Dr. Vaughan takes the time to sit down and listen to what you're going through. My most recent visit was in January '08, the reason I didn't really know. I had had a perpetual throat-clearing/cough for at least a year and I was finally getting it checked out. I did some research, and didn't know if it was allergies, asthma, or GIRD. I went in there, she sat down, and said "This is when I get to be a detective and figure out what's going on with you." I thought that was AWESOME! I was in there for an hour an a half, she was running different tests on me, and we figured out that it's possibly allergy-induced asthma, and definitely some allergy issues. I feel a lot better now that we're getting to the bottom of things, and I would recommend her to anyone! Other notes: I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area to go into a room, which is great. Nothing worse than going to the doctor's office and having to sit and wait (especially when you have an appointment!).

I've been to three different ENTs over the last twenty…read moreyears, and they all did the same thing: stuck an endoscope up my nose, looked around for 30 seconds, then shrugged and told me to keep using Flonase. On my very first visit to Girgis, Dr. Sam spent more than an hour with me. He ordered a CT scan and a full blood panel (turns out I had a deviated septum and low antibody levels for several strains of pneumococcal bacteria, which no doctor had ever told me, or even tested for). Eventually, when we had the results, he patiently went over everything in detail, and recommended surgery. The surgery itself was very smooth and the recovery was straightforward. Two months later, it has been LIFE-CHANGING. I am breathing better and sleeping better. Before the surgery, I generally needed an antihistamine, a decongestant, and a nasal spray every day. I have not taken any of them--not even once--since the surgery. During the entire process, the whole staff--Dr. Sam, the nurses, the receptionists, and the billing department--were kind, patient, and always available to answer questions. Do not waste time going somewhere else. This is the best ENT you will find in the area.

Here's why: She always thinks of everything without me even asking, from meds, to at home things to do, to a school note, without hesitation. She always makes a little bit of small talk with my sons, but it's like she really cares. Bonus: The place is clean, the front desk staff is friendly, calm and efficient. They smile and are efficient and great with insurance and I haven't ever received a crazy bill from them ever. The wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. We are out within 45 min including payment and lab tests. I am not getting paid by them to say all this stuff LOL haha!
