They painted windows shut and when I called, he wanted to come the day after as he had another job. I insisted he come over which they did and had a heck of a job releasing windows which they didn't check before hand that they were operating. Admitted it was his fault and would come back to fix. upon further inspection found paint spills on wood floor, improper cut ins.,. paint drips around window frames, paint on finished ceiling tiles . we called a number of times and they refused to give us the courtesy of a return call. We have now spent 4 days doing repairs that should have been finished by them. capable of basic work but not detail work.

I was away during the two weeks the team was painting. When James indicated that they were finishing up, I asked for photos and the work looked good. I was invoiced and I paid. A week later I returned to the house and noticed that a number of areas had not been painted including four long baseboard radiators, a closet shelf, and more. I got the feeling that James was not present during the job and did not return to inspect the work before invoicing. (In fact, the lawn sign was left behind.) But that's not all. Two high-quality desk chairs were "removed" without asking my permission. James and I have communicated several times about them and he indicated he would return them. Three weeks later, I still don't have them and James is not answering my calls. Lesson learned? Be there when they paint, even an empty house. And nail down whatever IS there.

Instead of a regular crew, this guy apparently picks up 'day workers' here and there. The guys he brought with him looked like a bunch of ex-cons, drunks and other questionable characters. They were rude and hostile to us, no matter how kind we were to them. These untrained workers wound up making a mess of my 100-year-old Victorian: First off, they didn't bother to scrape any of the old, loose paint off first, so naturally, the paint they slapped over it began peeling within a year. There were areas where paint was applied so thinly that you could see the old paint color below. In other places, they left large spots totally unpainted (a roofer brought this to our attention months later). These slobs threw things all over the place, carelessly stepped on objects and broke them, etc. The entire job was chaotic mess! Kellogg himself is very argumentative person, defending his inept men and their sloppy work. Any time we'd point out something his guys were doing wrong - rather than acknowledging and correcting it - he'd start an argument with us instead! It was an extremely unpleasant and frustrating situation all around. The finished product was a mediocre paint job that required us to hire another painter just to come and do remedial repairs and touching-up on the mess Kellogg and his crew left us with. I will never deal with this unprofessional "painter" and his unskilled workers again.

We also wanted to let him know what the plan was: get rid of old tree trunks that were eyesores, create planting beds, add mulch (not orange. Not black. Natural, thank you very much). To add, Rodriguez Lawn Care isn't just 'lawn care'- they actually run the gamut: decking, exterior painting, irrigation systems, etc. Instead of opting for the large shrubs, we considered the younger plants as opposed to the full-grown kind since we want to see their progression. So Fabricio selected small Boxwoods and Spirea for the walkway to start for now. Communication between hubs and Fabricio has been crystal clear in the last 2 months and we have no complaints. When we're not around, he has full access of the outside grounds and takes care of business.

These guys are far and above the best my husband and I have ever used! I found them just by chance when I was googling for someone to paint our new (to us) 1920's craftsman. They had a stellar online reputation, and we appreciated the fact that they specialized in painting historic homes. When I called, they were booked for the next several months, so I pretty much gave up on getting them. The gods must have been smiling on us, however, as Joshua called the morning we were getting bids from other painters and told us that they had had a last-minute cancellation that would free them up at the very time we needed them. Joshua and Matthew came over that day, and, while their estimate was a bit higher than others', we soon learned that they were worth every penny--and then some! Joshua and Matthew (and Joshua's younger brother, another Matthew) treated our home as though it was theirs, in every respect. They NEVER cut corners--and, in fact, did things TO corners (and walls, and trim, and cabinets, and...) that were well above our expectations. We thought our house was lovely before they started, but, when they were done, it truly looked like a work of art. They were also extremely professional, communicating regularly with us on their status (we weren't living in our home yet), showing up when they said they'd show up, and, most importantly, finishing the job right on schedule--something on which Joshua said he prides himself. (Joshua said he's NEVER missed a deadline, and anyone who's worked with contractors knows that that, alone, is remarkable!) Joshua and Matthew aren't just painters; they're artists. I did not have to wait long to have any of my projects completed. Depending on the project, Troy completed the work himself (the landscaping projects) or delegated the work to the appropriate team. Troy provided documentation of his insurance and took care of procuring all of the necessary permits that were needed for the roofing projects. I have found Troy to be reasonably priced and honest.
