Pretty disappointed with my last visit. I booked a long hair appointment with one of the more expensive/experienced stylists. I think I could have gotten a better cut from a friends teenage kid. No style or effort, just a flat cut straight across the back. I hadn't even realized they'd cut that part and thought they had just started with cleaning up my neckline. Could I have spelled out in more detail what I expected or could we have discussed it? Sure, but chatty conversation did not seem to be in the menu that afternoon. But I can't imagine a professional made one cut and thought, "yeah, this is good." It'll grow back but next time I'll find someone less lazy. read more

my partner came in with the expectation of getting a queer masc hair cut and walked out looking nothing like what she asked for... technician only used feathering shears and EVERYTHING was uneven.. she asked for layers and got a mop... the cut was $95 and we walked out of there feeling defeated. it's okay if someone doesn't know how to do a cut. we are upset because they promised they could and totally missed the mark. just go else where and save your money :((((( read more

Wow...my autistic son was told today the man only had 15 minutes to do a buzz cut for my son for 30 dollars..my son was " rudely, " told to leave and said the cut I showed a picture from an online depiction of what a buzz cut was..they argued with my son acted as if both he and I were incorrect, and told my son to leave. Looking for the perfect cut? Request Mickelle. I've been getting my hair cut, and styled, by this badass barber for roughly three to four years now. I even commute a little under 30 minutes just to get a fresh cut from Mickelle. Some things have changed since COVID at Rudy's. There is a new service fee added on, which isn't too bad. Still worth it for the best cut in town. However, getting your hair styled after your appointment is not the best experience anymore. With blow dryers not being allowed by the establishment, I leave with a semi-wet, some would say damp (but that's not my favorite word), when I used to leave looking PRIME ready to take on the rest of my day. I've had an experience like the one below now 3 times in row. Fool me once... I made an appointment online for 5:30. I took off work early and arrive at Rudy's at 4:40 - 50 minutes before my appointment. The check in person say - thank's you are all checked in. I might be able to get you in 15 minutes early. That'd be great. I go sit down. 35 minutes go by and they don't get me in. But then someone comes in from off the street without an appointment and they give the next appointment to them. The check in person comes around and sees me sitting and ask "do you have an appointment?" - this is the same person who checked me in. Yes I said, you checked me in. She asks me to come back up to the desk. Great, you are all checked in. The clock goes on another 30 minutes. Another person comes in off the street and they give them the next appointment - even though they don't have an appointment. Then the person comes around from the desk and says "I think the internet cancelled your appointment". The internet did not cancel my appointment - you cancelled my appointment. You were so busy surfing the web on your phone that you didn't even pay attention to the people sitting waiting. My buzz cut usually take 10-15 minutes tops. Like I said, this wasn't the first time Rudy's has messed up my appointment - but it certainly will be the last time. read more

I've never seen anything like it, and I've given some haphazard at-home haircuts to squirming children in my day. Really unacceptable for the prices they charge. read more

Mickelle is my favorite stylist, they always do an amazing job when it comes to fixing me up and making me look beautiful! One thing I would enjoy is having a blow dry after the haircut, especially since I know it plays an important role when giving haircuts after spraying the hair down in water. This was taken away due to the pandemic, and I think it's a vital part of the haircut, especially mine where i have pretty bad cowlick that needs the special attention to when cutting & a blow dryer would help style that. I am aware that blowing the air around is a concern for some reason, but masks guidance are to now wear two face masks, a medical & cloth mask to provide the safety needed. If Rudy's is spacing the stylists out, and keeps the airflow in the space flowing, & customers are required to mask up.. i don't see how this would be an issue! Hope to hear back and see the changes that Rudy's will make, hopefully soon! read more

I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. I was on vacation in Seattle and I recently brought my son in for an appointment and he was nicked at least three times. They must not be following COVID cleaning guidelines (OR ANY) because after the uneven cut (Yes, uneven. Ended up fixing it once I was home) my sons neck was inflamed. It started to form a rash and we had to get him checked, turns out it was some sort of cross contamination of BACTERIA!!! FROM THE CLIPPERS!!!!! DISGUSTING. Poor baby was crying hard that it itched. It was infected and we had to buy treatment. Not only was the hairdresser rude about it but they were condescending and gaslit me into thinking something wasn't wrong. Tried to get some sort of refund but the stylists looked at me like I was crazy and said he was fine. So damn RUDE... The establishment has the worst customer service I had seen in a while. Would not recommend this place don't waste your time or money!!! It destroyed my trip. read more

She takes time & care during our color consultations to make sure I am getting exactly what I want, that I'm properly educated on how to take care of my color at home, and she always helps me purchase the right products to keep my colors vibrant months after the color session. My longest and worst hair cut experience ever, period! I was assigned a highly unprofessional barber - who seem to have graduated intern/training program with Rudy's. I was made to sit in the chair for more than 75 mins :( The barber was unable to do even a basic low fade - didn't have any idea how to blend in different clipper sizes onto my hair. She kept on asking her associates for directions and help. If you don't know how to cut hair then don't make that your livelihood. Is that the quality other internship program graduates ?? I have been to other Rudy's shops in Seattle and the experience there has been phenomenal. However the Columbia City branch seems to have pushed down the bar beyond one's imagination. Save your money - better save your time and go to other barber shops in Columbia city. read more

I've been coming here for about a year now and prices were just raised AGAIN for the second time in 6 months. The person who cuts my hair does a good job but you're rushed in and out so the stylist does not go past the 30 minute window they have to do a short cut. It's very much so a Great Clips type feeling where they're just busy all the time and you need to get in and out of the chair as quickly as possible. Getting a hair wash was always my favorite part of getting my haircut before I started coming here, but since the stylist only has 30 minutes to cut your hair, they spend literally 1 minute on a wash AND condition so it's not relaxing or enjoyable. I'll be looking for a barber elsewhere where it's a lot more personalized and you don't feel like you're just a number. read more

It's uneven, with long hanks of hair sticking out in various places and looks like I did it myself with scissors and no mirror. There were four stylist and we actually had an appointment the lady at the front desk said my kids hair was actually considered long and we booked a short cut she needed a trim hair was clean and just needed a trim.our appointment. She gave me a short haircut and helped me clean up my perm and then gave me a fade on the back and my sides. HOLY CRAP! I cannot tell you how floored I have been by the service at Rudy's everytime I come in. Whenever I make an appointment, my work never fails to throw a wrench in my plans so that I have to shift the time around. Everytime I call Rudy's, they are more than eager to work with me to shift my appointment. Atticus has easily got to be the best barber I've ever had. They remember what we talked about during my last cut, ask about what I want to work on for this session, and let me know exactly what they are going to aim for in a way that leaves nothing vague. Honestly, I had to move from Columbia City all the way to Kent and I still go out of my way to have my hair cut here because the service and professionalism is just on point. read more

It was my first time in this cozy barbershop located in the core of Columbia City and I must say that I was very pleased with my visit. Lisa was very friendly and gave me the exact cut I wanted. Although I did not purchase anything besides a haircut and some product, I was pleasantly surprised to find they had coffee, soda water, and beer available to purchase as well. About 5 weeks ago i got an awesome haircut from a guy named Louie and i felt like the marble that Michelangelo sculpted into David. He was meticulous and attentive and gave me my first "real" haircut. It was for an event where i was speaking in front of hundreds of people and it gave me the confidence to put on a tuxedo and feel like i belonged in it. Then, i came back today for a haircut and got a haircut from Megan, who gave me a great fade with minimal directions from me (i know how i like it to look but not how to get there- that's why there's a school for that). She gave me a hard part which I know must be a measure of a good barber because I've seen the horror stories on Instagram but i trusted her judgement and I'm so glad i did. It looks awesome. I'll definitely be coming back. Also something i really care about: everybody here is super nice. As a social worker my whole job is helping people deal with really emotionally draining situations and it's soooo nice to be in an environment where people seem to be intentional with their kindness and positivity. read more

It throws ambiguous errors, can't seem to sign you in even when you've created an account. Why even have a website if its unusable as it just makes people angry. read more
