You pay a $65 per person fee to play however there are no refs, other teams ref your games and are usually disinterested or do not know the rules adaquately to fairly referee a game (Including myself when I referee others games). There is no formal structure for batting orders (i.e. guy / guy / girl ), there is also no rule against guys bunting which takes all the fun out for most of the rest of the folks in the field. When approaching the administration about game issues the response is futile in it's resolution. Email reminders come out late in the week, shirts were almost late for the season start. Adding referre's would make this leauge MUCH better. People playing are pretty great though.

The playground is nicely shaded and fenced in to keep the little ones from possibly walking off. The climbing frame is flipping awesome. The entire playground area has a rubberized base and there are benches for the grownups to sit. Next to the entrance to the recreation center is one of those Little Free Library community book boxes. What a great place to watch a ballgame! I managed to walk up and get some good seat for our group…read moreright before the game and were in and seated just in time for first pitch. The food stands were busy, so I waited until the game got well underway, the lines were shorter and had some great hot dogs, peanuts and cold beer! I always walk around ballpark to check out the views from the other seat and there is not a bad seat in the house! Like most minor league ballparks, it's always a lot of fun and at a decent price. I love this ballpark and will definitely be back!

It was in the Piedmont Natural Gas Pavillion behind left field. An absolutely incredible time. It was a beautiful night. They offered a covered section with a buffet from 5 to 7 pm. Food included hot dogs, barbeque and chicken. I was able to make a Carolina Dog with all the ingredients they had to offer. There are great views of the baseball field and the Charlotte Skyline from this ballpark. It is a very nice venue Although the Clemson beat my 49ers, we all had an outstanding time. We plan to see a Charlotte Knights game later in the summer, and if our Alumni Association sponsors a similar event, we will be there again.

Excellent tennis courts, including clay courts. Great tennis teams. Great tennis pro. Great year-round lessons for adults and kids. Wonderful tennis camps, both full and half day. Nice shaded viewing area. Pool- super fun! Two diving boards, basketball hoop in shallow end, separate (newly redone) baby pool with zero entry. New bathrooms. Snack bar has good selection of reasonably priced food and ice cream. Plenty of shade to spend the day in a lounge chair ( they are plentiful). Picnic tables- perfect for ordering pizza delivery! Discretion and no bottles tends to be the alcohol un-official policy. Fun swim team. Great swim instruction. Not a quiet pool, lots of friendly families, but not overcrowded. Lots of fun social activities! Long waiting list for membership. If you are thinking you might want to join a pool or think you may have children one day that might want to join a pool, put your name on the wait list now, because if you don't live in Barclay Downs, there are 250 names ahead of you already.
