Here are the positives: - Great exercise classes offered - Big and spacious group exercise rooms - Lots of equipment. They have about 20-odd treadmills so there's always little or no wait. Same with ellipticals and cycles - Indoor running track for people who don't like running on treadmills yet want to run when it's cold / rainy / hot outside - Smoothie king!! - Lots ad lots of parking - Kids' pool and daycare

I found their behavior to be unprofessional and disappointing. Specifically, receiving weird looks, lack of communication, and felt rushed to make a decision. Ever since the establishment changed owners this place is just not like it used to be. As a member/guest, I expect to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this interaction did not meet those expectations. and negatively affected my experience at the YMCA. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. My intention is not simply to complain, but to help ensure that all members and visitors receive respectful and professional service. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. They have 2 showers/bathroom areas and one bathroom to accommodate needs. It's a plus that Its 24 hours to accommodate your schedule. They have plenty of parking in a shared lot. When it comes to the fitness equipment it's not repaired or updated regularly. The TV on the stair master has been out for a year. In addition, some of the ellipticals do not take information like your weight if you desire accurate calorie counts or the levels can not go past a certain point without the machine restarting. They have limited equipment because its smaller. They have one stair master and you frequently have to wait as its a high demand machine during regular hours. There is one upward bike and one row machine, etc. It can get pretty hot. Not sure what is going on with the HVAC, but wish it was cooler on a regular. Typically its well organized and clean. There are three staff as trainers and general staff they appear to be friendly, there is one who is very passive aggressive. Thankful for Ron's help and assistance and Joseph is nice. Notes: There is a gym in Waverly that has a food bar, etc. It has some completion and the price is equivalent to the gym down the street. I have not taken any of the small group classes that they offer and cannot provide feedback on those or working one on one with a trainer. I also have not consumed any beverages or snacks from their honor system.

We frequent Lifetime gyms whenever we travel as we like the consistent quality and classes provided by the gym. Overall, this is a very nice building and was on the larger side from the facilities that we are used to. They have both Pickleball and basketball courts. They also have the standard high-quality technogym equipment found in all of their locations. The steam and dry sauna area was on the smaller side from what I'm used to seeing, but they were very clean and well-maintained. The Lifetime café was also very clean and had plenty of space to sit down. Overall, wonderful experience and would definitely visit again in the future

Also this is meant to provide constructive feedback in hopes that management/area director and leadership at Lifetime read this- finally these are constant grievances of mine, others on this feed and I have been a member for more than 3 years. Additionally, I've experienced the brand new top shelf Lifetime in Cary NC...world of difference in service, equipment (of course new) , AND true spa like feel in the men's locker room...down to lockers have 'bumpers' on them so when they are shut they are quiet. 1. NOISE! Men's spa area is so loud I have to wear airbuds to escape the constant yammering of others in the steam and sauna. 2. Tired Equipment and in consistent amenities- I joined for the quality of equipment and mainly access to steam and dry sauna- Equipment is worn out...bikes, cable machines, benches, accessories for gym equipment in general need replacement. Machines sit dormant waiting for repair often...and Steam room is constantly inconsistent and temperatures in dry sauna are below recommended temps. Did I also mention how LOUD it is in the 'Quiet Area.' 3. Towel service is 1 STAR....and unacceptable. Last night and many days/nights the shelves in the locker area are bare with NO TOWELS....I literally had to walk the locker room to find a clean towel to dry off with. 4. Family Friendly. YES! It should be...but now that school/college is on summer break the gym experience is fraught with kids being kids.. from locker room to gym floors...absolute chaos... 5. Showers- The entire shower area is a mess a lot of the time, but especially last night....walk into a shower and someone left towels inside stall....No attendants cleaning up or restocking towels...counters full of water, etc. NOT A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE! I truly enjoy investing in my health and consider Lifetime a splurge in my budget....BUT I continually leave shaking my head at the level of service...quality...and inconsistency....even the 'simple things' from a staff person, like Have a good night...hope you had a nice workout. It would be nice to have persons on the floor assisting 'newbies' with workout tips or offering assistance in using the equipment.

Each class is different and I am left sweating and feeling good at the end of each one. It's definitely a great workout. All of the instructors I've tried are great but Kristen is my favorite so far. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and they have a lot of regular members. No egos or competitive spirit here, which I appreciate. There is a large parking lot but it's easy to miss your turn if you're not familiar with the area. There are cubbies to store your stuff and hair ties, Luna bars, and water provided. The intro unlimited membership is $99 per month, which is a great deal and then it goes up to $159 I believe. You also have to let them know in advance if you want to cancel; otherwise, you'll be locked in for another 3 months. Their app is super easy to use, they have clothes and socks for sale, if you need them. My one minor complaint is that there isn't a clock in the room, so I never know if they're done kicking my butt haha.

That search led me to Ryan Hoover and Fit to Fight--and it exceeded every expectation. This isn't just a 5-star review; it is an open letter of appreciation. Here is what sets them apart: World-Class Leadership: Ryan, Amber, and Riley Hoover are incredible, highly accessible coaches who frequently teach classes themselves. Elite, Consistent Coaching: Every single coach and Black Belt is exceptional. There is no such thing as a bad class here. Complete Combat Curriculum: They train you for reality--covering everything from de-escalation and kickboxing to grappling, street-scenario jiu-jitsu, and weapons defense. Evolving & Relevant: The curriculum updates constantly to address ever-changing, real-world threats. Inclusive Community: You will train alongside everyone from teenagers to impressive 70-year-olds in an environment where everyone knows your name. Genuine Care: They truly care about your safety, growth, and well-being.Though I recently had to relocate back to the West Coast, Fit to Fight remains the gold standard. I fully plan to return for their intensive workshops. To Ryan and the entire coaching staff: keep doing what you do. It matters.

The reason for the infrequency is that it is a solid 25 min drive for me without traffic. Add in week day traffic and that turns into an hour. Otherwise, I'd be here all the time. The staff is super friendly. The bag classes are my favorite and a really tough workout. The intro classes are great as well. The first 15 mins of "warm up" is probably the toughest work out then it is on to learning basic skills. It's such a great work out and the training is great for self defense. They have another location in Gastonia if you live closer to there. I highly recommend them.
