I brought them in to see if I could exchange them on 6/21/2023. The young lady I dealt with was amicable, but a bit strange. Nonetheless she guided me in the area where the Hey Dude section was. It seemed like a large section, but it turned out they didn't have the same shoes so I settled for some Wendy glitter in baby pink ones. Apparently that day these were on sale due to "National Pink Day" (not kidding) because even though they were the same price as what my brother bought on his receipt, I ended up with some cash back. The exchange was a quick, painless process. It's a newer Shoe Dept in Hobbs, NM, next to one of the fire stations. I only knocked off a star because you have to ask for panty hose liner from the front registers if you're not wearing socks. Plus some of their aisles were in a bit of disarray. Loyalty program is available. They do have the Brannock foot measuring devices here! Haven't seen those in forever it seems. Can't wait to see if they have any in my daughter's size because she has been dying for a pair.

You'll notice right away the clean white bricks on the outside. Ample, free parking is available. As soon as you walk in, there is an old-fashioned coin-operated kiddie ride horse. It's adorable. Then there's the polished wood floor. The high ceilings. The uber organized sections for men, women, and children. Multiple dressing rooms. My favorite area is probably hats. There is an attendant specially for that section to get your new hat fitted, shaped, and on your way to the upcoming fair & rodeo in Lea County. I was greeted at the store, but was slightly disappointed at the lack of customer service thereafter. Nonetheless, I will be back for some new jeans. While Bennie's did not have much of a clothes selection back on April 16, 2026, the customer service was nice and my daughter did find a nice pearl snap top that was super cute on her. The price was $35.52 which is comparable to many Western wear stores for her age group. The elderly owner makes the leather bracelets on display (photo attached). Dressing rooms were available. I came to this Famous Footwear in Carlsbad , NM, with my two daughters on 1.18.2025…read more It's located at the Carlsbad Pavilion, next to Maurices, Ross Dress for Less, Family Dollar, & Melrose Family Fashion. Was not welcomed or said hi to when we first entered. That was a red flag. My youngest really wanted the new Valentine Converses, but her and I butted heads about it because she wanted to go up two sizes because her true size wasn't "comfortable"... then the next size up wasn't comfortable either. I reminded her that Converses are cool but they aren't exactly comfortable plus they take a while to break in. My youngest has done this before with shoes... tried a pair of new shoes on that I suspected was slightly too long and said they felt fine and then when she actually wore them for a day, they slipped and gave her sores. To clarify, both of my children currently have the same size feet, so I had the oldest also try the same pair on and give me her opinion of how they felt. While all of this was going on, the staff members acted very strangely around us. They were friendly, but suspicious. The taller & heavier-set lady followed me everywhere at first & watched me like a hawk. It was so uncomfortable. The staff didn't do anything to assist with the measuring of my daughter's foot, or ask her questions and remind her that breaking in shoes takes a while. Guess they didn't need any sales that day. Not many sizes available in the boots section for women. Store was grungy and had worn-out benches for trying on shoes. I was fine walking out with no purchase because of all of the above complaints, but especially the lack of customer service.
