Yesterday, I had to stop at CVS, and noticed that she is kind of hiding behind the magazines/newspapers having her lunch. We had some small talk and we both went our own separate ways. There is also this other man that keeps her company. She said it herself. When it gets dark. This LA newsstand has everything from regular magazines, to newspapers, to trendy magazines, little knick knacks here and there. I mean wall to wall. Whatever you can't find anywhere else, they have it here. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but just the selection and the way it's nicely organized, always captures my attention. Every magazine has its own value/price and are more affordable than anywhere else. However, they don't have books. That's ok, Barnes and Noble is few steps away! The stand itself is super clean and so is the sidewalk, along with both trash cans always empty. It you are in the area, make sure you stop by and say hello to Rene. Support this stand. They are AWESOME in every way!! Street/metered parking and you can also use the parking next door with CVS. Same goes for the restrooms.

It covers local stories in much greater detail than the Burbank Leader (which is owned by the LA Times). Not to mention they seem to always capture great photos at newsworthy events. However this publication fails to fully embrace the importance of new media. Sure Burbank Times has a website, but it looks very dated and only a screenshot of the newspaper's cover page are available to read. Almost every major newspaper I know of provides full access to complete stories on the website. Attention Burbank Times: if you want my eyeballs on your content, MAKE IT EASY FOR ME TO GET IT. Why would I go down to some post office lobby to pick up your free newspaper when almost every other newspaper I read is online? Does it surprise anybody that newspaper subscriptions are down dramatically while online newspaper viewing has substantially increased? Maybe the Burbank Times doesn't care, they are too small of an operation, or they aren't interested in increasing their presence. It's a shame because it's a decent newspaper. Instinct seems a bit like Teen Beat, with pin-up models and superficial interviews. Why not be underground and artsy, like Butt Magazine? Ignore your Instincts... or at least change?

I have been trying to file my DBA through this company for about 2 weeks now. And instead of them accommodating to me (the paying customer) I instead am accommodating to them. I just can't believe they expect me to pay them for this. I called them ready to work and get things accomplished. I don't feel that is reciprocated. I shouldn't have to ask you do do your job and follow up with you. I will because I take my business and others seriously, but this is no where near a company I want to do business with.
