I had been here a bunch of times in the past before the pandemic using ClassPass. The biggest draw…read moreof this gym is that workouts are circulations through 4 stations for a total of 40 minutes and start every 10 minutes. This means that, for example, if you are signed up for an 8:00 am slot but run late, no problem, you can join the 8:10 am or 8:20 am start. I went to this location a couple days ago for the first time since its reopening at the beginning of January 2021. They were on the first floor before, but they have signs saying they moved upstairs to the second floor in the same building. You do have to wear a mask during the workout at present. There was originally only enough space in each station for 4 people, so I imagine they would restrict more spots in each workout slot now. The reason they are able to have rotating stations at 10 minute intervals is that there are no instructors at each individual station, just one trainer in the overall workout area overseeing everyone. (During busier pre-pandemic times, there were two trainers sometimes.) The way you find out what movements to perform at each station is a monitor with videos of the movements and an interval timer that sounds sirens for the start and end of each 40 second exercise interval. You do have to be able to quickly grasp the movements shown before the next interval starts, but you have 3 rounds to get those movements right. The first station has a long turf that usually involves ropes or sled pushes, and the middle stations include sandbag movements and weight lifts. The last stations usually have a core movement like plank rollers or supine weight lifts. You are now expected to grab a cleaning towel and cleaning spray and wipe down the equipment you used at each station during the one minute break between stations. With this kind of structure, you're sure to get a great workout and stay busy during every second! I would advise taking some time after the last round to stretch because they do not include a cool down in the round. Bring a water bottle, a towel, your mask and get it done here!

She said she would be there from 8 AM on. She never texted me. I arrived at the gym at 8 AM to be told that she wasn't there yet and she would be i arriving in about 30 minutes and if I wanted to, I could wait for her. When I pushed back, I was told they're "not a storage facility." Cool. I wasn't asking you to store it for a year. I was asking you to hold a hat you already confirmed you had while I was traveling internationally. This tells you everything you need to know about how this company operates. I…read morelearned how to run faster, pace myself and blend running into my overall workout regiment. Also Barry's taught me about strength at an achievable level for an amateur. Historically I lifted 2 to 3 pound weights in ballet barre classes. Barry's has helped me develop to 10-15 pound weights for better muscle strength. The only "cons" of Barry's are the price and the singular focus on run/lift. My greatest weight loss and muscle tone has been at full service gyms like equinox. I work out longer at equinox and ultimately burn more calories blending running, rowing and elliptical with barre and yoga. Equinox as a full service gym is half the price for a monthly membership. Moreover, Equinox runs promotions such as free membership through the end of 2023 for a 12 month membership in 2024, and the monthly membership is $210 corporate. Notably Barry's corporate locations offer discounted membership and class packs for my employer but Barry's Miami Beach doesn't accept them. I ended up with Barry's corporate and Barry's Miami class packs. Barry's serves an important purpose. When I want to push my running legs and lift heavy, Barry's Miami Beach is the place. Barry's has good treadmills with thicker cushion that is worth the extra money. My Miami Beach condo has treadmills included but zero cushion. Candidly I know more injured runners than active runners. The cushiony treadmill and higher end running shoes like Hoka are valuable investments for a runner. (I have never been injured running but pay for quality equipment, coaches and shoes.) i love the enthusiasm and encouragement of Sammi, Michael, Derek and Rachel especially. The balance of the challenging Barry's workouts is worth it.

The whole atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly from the beginning and the workout was definitely a good and hard one! To quote my friend:"it was one of the best Lagree classes I've ever had"! If we would live here, we would definitely show up regularly! To all those negative comments about closed doors when they showed up late: you get more than one email where you can clearly read that you have to be there 10 minutes before the class starts and you cannot participate if you are late! And I personally love that! It's highly disrespectful to show up late and interrupt the others attendees. Plan your time better and just show up on time. It's easy as that! Thanks for the good workout and hopefully see you soon!

The space is very clean and it's a small class which seemed like a plus. I had a lot of trouble with the workout and the positions. I had never used a machine like this before and was really struggling. Hans, the instructor, kept getting frustrated and angry with me for not understanding what to do and made me feel so stupid for physically not being able to do some of the movements due to previous injury. I left feeling very bad about myself and very upset with the treatment I faced. I'm used to more welcoming and helpful coaching so maybe I'm just not used to rudeness and aggressiveness. I have since found other spots that I feel leaving great with very helpful coaches and a happier environment. Also don't seem to take constructive criticism well since they get defensive of any bad reviews and aggressively reach out to you. Super weird. My friend goes to this place and likes it so I guess it depends on who you are and what kind of environment you like. I will say it is a good and intense workout. Probably will get a mean response to this rather than any sort of accountability or apology but let's see I guess. Also re: the email I attached. I reviewed a little later because it popped up on my yelp. How people make you feel will stick with you so I felt the need to share my experience which is what yelp is for.

The workout itself was great, but the experience was disappointing. The instructor gave no welcome or guidance--just told us to get on the machines. Directions were often based on local references (e.g., "face Brickell"), and when we weren't facing the right way, they repeated, "Again, you're facing Brickell." Obviously, as visitors, we had no idea where that was. Despite this, we gave it another shot the next day with our full group ( as we booked it weeks before ). We left early but got stuck in Miami traffic due to a bridge delay, arriving three minutes before class. Even after calling ahead, we were turned away because new students must arrive five minutes early--no offer to reschedule, just a blunt refusal. If this is their protocol, then they probably should have enforced it the day before when we also arrived late. I'm grateful they didn't, but the inconsistency is frustrating when you expect one thing and are then told there are strict rules. While we did get a refund, the lack of hospitality stood out compared to everywhere else we visited in Miami. If they improved customer service and gave better guidance for beginners, I'd gladly return--the workout itself was solid, and the studio has a cute vibe. P.S. For newcomers and even locals, you'll need to enter the building, show your ID to the lovely lobby attendant downstairs, and he'll guide you to Tremble, which is on the fourth floor.

I've gone mostly for the Abs and Ass classes, but most recently, I went for a Sweat Box class. Parking is usually tolerable with street parking spots available, and there is also a public parking lot by the waterfront. I think they do rent boxing gloves and hand wraps, but of course, I recommend bringing your own whenever possible. They do not have towels, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, so make sure to bring your own, because you will need it! They have a smoothie bar right when you walk in if you want to treat yourself to a smoothie or bowl after the workout. For the Abs and Ass class, if Ella is teaching, definitely take a class with her, because not only does she have a body that everyone wants (lean, muscular, toned), she sounds sweet and leads a mean, nonstop workout. You're working out in the same space as the boxing bags, so you're moving up and down next to the lines of bags. You could be going from walking lunges to weighted plie squats to burpees to supine leg lifts to one legged deadlifts to mountain climbers to plank jacks to jump squats and back all over again and again. Feeling tired? The workout is definitely worth the drop in. You feel like you conquered the world afterwards, and your abs, butt and thighs will feel the burn the next day! The Sweat Box class with Azea is also baller. He starts off with body weight exercises like squats, pushups, moutain climbers and situps and has a jump rope session in between each round. The classes are big, so don't expect to get attention from the instructor all the time during the boxing portion. He builds on combinations, so make sure to have the first sequence down before adding on and getting cocky. The bags are tall to the floor and great to wail on. There's a mirror in the front and back of the room, so you can watch the instructor demonstrate, get a glimpse of yourself hustling and observe the social media lifers tab bags and take selfies in between the rounds. (I do get reminded that I'm in South Beach.) There is a good amount of wear on the gym, which you can occasionally smell as well. If you don't mind that and actually want a place to get in some serious boxing, it is a good gym to go to! Give it a try!
