I asked for a pause or extension, something any decent company would offer under the circumstances. Instead, they refused and charged me another $250 for a new month of classes I couldn't use simply because I didn't give 30 days' notice. For a car accident. Let that sink in. I emailed multiple times, explained everything, and even submitted documentation. Rylie responded every time with the same dismissive message quoting their "fine print." No humanity. No flexibility. Just corporate indifference. What kind of fitness company claims to care about wellness but punishes clients for being injured? Who makes $500 disappear without delivering any service? Solidcore does. Their class packs expire in 30 days, another trap they don't make clear upfront, designed to squeeze every dollar without actually supporting the people they claim to serve. This isn't just bad customer service. It's predatory. It's a scam wrapped in slick branding. They took my money, ignored my injury, and offered no resolution. I work out almost everyday but have steered clear of Pilates-related workouts because these types of workouts deeply intimidate me - so you can imagine how I felt joining my sister as a guest at a Solid Core! I've done very little Pilates-type classes, let alone any Pilates reformer class, so I was a bit nervous. Luckily, the instructor Aga was very helpful to introduce me to the class format and tools and help me with my form throughout. It is definitely a tough workout, although luckily there are modifications to help you out if you're a beginner. I will say though if you have joint issues with hips or knees like I do, it can still be a bit tricky even with modifications. But the day after I didn't have any pain or anything, so it must not have been too harsh after all and safe for joints despite this. Definitely feel it in my core though, so that must mean the workout did its job! read more

solidcore is not a drill. This is an amazing workout that will have you pushing your core muscles to the limit for an hour. I usually do HIIT workouts, and consider myself to be relatively in shape but damn this is HARD! I love solidcore because it has you focus on really small movements for really short amount of times. But trust me in those short times, you are using muscles that you rarely use and it feels horrible and amazing all at once. You will break a sweat, you will be 10000% sore the next day, but you will also feel a sense of pride knowing that you really strengthened your core. In terms of covid precautions the classes are small and while indoor the ceilings are super high and everyone must wear a mask while working out. They also take your temperature. I have taken classes with Daniela and Kelly and I loved them. If you've taken a pilates class on a reformer you should be a-ok with solid core but thankfully the instructors will explain the movements pretty clearly and since the classes are super small they do give you personalized attention if you need to correct a movement. My favorite part about solidcore is that no matter your skill level no one is judging you if you can't do all the movements. Truly everyone is too focused on making it through their own workout so do not be intimidated and go at your own pace. Trust me, you'll feel so much better after this! Parking is pretty ample on the street but there are also garages in midtown shops if it's a busy weekend day. read more

Have you ever stared at a puddle of your own sweat while exercising? I have, here at solidcore. There is a reason they call their version of the reformer machine "sweatlana", but thankfully they have fresh towels draped on each machine at the start of each class. They only have about 11 machines/spots for each class so you're not lost or forgotten about, but this does mean you could end up on the wait list or not being able to sign up for classes at popular times, i.e. early mornings or early evenings. Luckily, they offer plenty of class times each day. When you do get into a class, the instructor always pays attention to you and makes gentle form corrections while you are dying. The remarkable thing about the workouts here is that they are guaranteed to kill anyone, no matter how advanced an athlete they are. The reason is that the moves they have you do (sometimes hanging for dear life off of the carriage over a pit) work muscles you may not use in other workouts. I've told friends that this may be the only place where I get ab lines for a hot second after a workout. I always feel the soreness in my core, butt/glutes and shoulders for 2-3 days after a workout (and I exercise pretty often), because each one is a full body workout (hence the name "Full Body" as the class name...). They do have ab and arm focused workouts, but I say you'll still get a great bang for your body buck doing the regular full body classes. One component of these classes to get used to is that the instructors are constantly talking about the moves you are doing and are about to do in 15 seconds. Their words will be in your head, so you should make sure not to tune out and focus on what move you will be doing next on what side of the body, and where on the carriage. If they are still offering beginner classes (introduction classes at 40% of the normal pace of a class), I definitely recommend taking one to get used to sweatlana and the movements. A single class costs $29, and unlimited monthly plans are $299, so you can be like me and use the incredible ClassPass or look for their community classes, where they have (accomplished) instructors in training teach classes. Their community classes used to be $5, and now they are $10 per class. Parking can be a little hard here with Midtown depending on the time of day, but you should be able to street park within a couple blocks of the building. Fatiguing my muscles one class at a time! Located in Midtown, [soldcore] is a reformer pilates-based class that focuses on resistance training for your full body in 50 minutes. I have ClassPass and normally book through there but they have specials throughout the month if you would like to sign up for packs! Parking isn't too bad, there is plenty of street parking and garages nearby. Make sure to make it to class at least 10 minutes before class if you are new and have never done reformer Pilates so the instructor can teach you the ropes. The class is very fast paced and there are no breaks. The class is broken down into three main parts: lower body, upper body and core. Each class is different in what moves and the lineup of workouts so just because you try one class doesn't mean the second will be the same. Your muscles will fatigue and you will be sore the next day! I find these classes to be intermediate level and above from other reformer pilates classes I've been to so definitely worth checking out! read more

Who knew a Pilates reformer could be so hard?! Be prepared to break a sweat and realize you in fact have the weakest core ever... but will want to keep coming back. The instructors will talk you through the entire class and play upbeat tunes to try and drown out the "HOLY F*#+%{^{" thoughts that will be screaming loud in your head. I also love that they turn the lights down low and have some blue lights to help concentrate on the moves. Solidcore is a great workout! read more

Omg!! So I work out regularly [semi regularly] at otf and this class misled my a$$! The studio is beautiful and has some of the best machines I've seen anywhere. I took the "beginners" class to learnt eh equipment and do some low impact short count reps.. I was sweating in 5 minutes... profusely. And I was using muscles that have been sleep since I was doing cart wheels and back rolls when I was a kid and it hurt like a mo fo. And feel like I hadn't worked out in years! I can tell this is the kind of workout we're you will see results fast. I'm using class pass for this, it's not cheap. But with that said, I will be back.. after two hours of hot yoga; massage, sauna, and a little ganja lol. Highly recommended and the teacher I had was amazing! And very motivating. Wish I remembered her name but I was so busy trying to not faint lol. Check it out! Also you have to go barefoot or wear non slip socks! Bring a water bottle as they have filtered water and towels. I started coming here because I needed a balance in my daily routine. My daily workout is HIIT and it was taking a toll on my hip flexors. I've been to multiple Pilates studies around Miami and solid core has been my fave. It's extremely challenging and I can notice the difference in my body and core. I'm less than 25 classes in but I love it. Great balance to my fitness schedule. I've taken classes with Adriana, Helen, and Natalie. All great! Solidcore IS IT. This isht is hard but it's also low impact. For me, when I would go to OTF or Barry's I felt like I had to mentally gear up to be all bouncy and have bursts of energy, so on days I felt off or tired I wouldn't go. Not the case with solidcore, no bursts, just a sloowwww burn, lol. Also, kristy (the assistant manager I think?) is such a good instructor, I feel like she must have her PhD in exercise science or something. She's so encouraging and just... good at her job! The RUDEST instructor I've ever had! I've been doing Pilates for years and I know the instructor's job is to make sure you're doing the right movement, help the client with the reformer, ETC. My reformer got stuck and I kindly asked Catherine Musnicki to help me out with it ) after by the way she saw me struggling but decided to ignore it), to what she responded over the microphone OUT LOUD that she's not giving me a personalized class, that she was working with a whole class! That was completely out of place! Her job is to help us if we have any inconvenience! (Mostly with a reformer that wasn't working properly) Paying Pilates classes to be mistreated by the instructor, it's not what I'm looking for. By the way! We're in the middle of a pandemic, the reformers are almost on top of each other, it seems that Solidcore hasn't understood the 6 feet guidelines! The bathroom was dirty. This is my new favorite workout class!!!! The class is extremely intense, regardless of if you are a beginner or not, but it's the kind of difficult that makes you want to go back (even tho my muscles wanted to die). I like that class sizes stay pretty small (about 10 machines in the room), and I love that with their reformer, you really can't half ass the workout. All the instructors have been extremely kind and welcoming, and the other students are pretty nice too! Definitely give it a try! read more

On day one I broke my toe, and day two I burst an eye blood vessel. Lots of pressure from the instructor to keep up despite this... This is a workout only for people who are SUPER comfortable with strength training and pilates and intense cardio. I do regular pilates and this was a totally different planet. I can't rave about this place enough. If this is your first time it's recommended you come 15 minutes early. Keep that in mind if you decide to park in the garage since it's not super close, but not too far either. I recommend parking in the street, but since it's limited you might want to get there earlier. When you book your class they send you a code to open the door (they keep the doords locked which means your valuables are safe). I of course didn't check my email, but the instructor was at the door so she welcomed me. She was absolutely amazing giving me a tour of the place. They provide you with towels and show you where to place them afterwards. Their bathrooms are stocked with anything you might need afterwards. They even have sweat bags if you want to change! They also sell really cute merchandise. They started right on time and for the first few minutes she goes over the mechanics of the machines and their "lingo". At first I was worried I would be lost, but she makes it a priority that you're ok the entire time. I did the full body workout and it was very hard ( you can change the resistance to challenge yourself and she guides you with if you arent sure if you should go down or up in resistance). Throughout the workout she's extremely encouraging even using everyone's name when she wanted to highlight something you did well. You are using muscles you aren't really use to using and it burns. I actually burned a lot of calories according to my iwatch and boy did I feel it. Try this place out the only negative thing I can say is.. you might become addicted to it. read more

I had my 3rd class here today and i love it so far. I'm 6 weeks postpartum and wanted to kickstart my recovery after birth. This is an incredible low-impact but high intensity work out. The studio is super clean with a great ambience and great playlists. I've had three different instructors so far, all of them awesome. So.. in Miami for work and my friend says we need to do solid core. Signed up for beginner class with Jessica. It ended up being just me and my friend so it was like a private class. Jess explained the movements, concept and answered every question. I used to take Pilates years ago but this is Pilates on steroids! It was the most awesome and hardest class! If I lived stateside I would do this 2-3x weekly but since I live out of country? I will hit solid core everytime I'm stateside. The place was super clean, decorated great and the staff is awesome! Hello I reserved this class and due to rush hour traffic I was 6 minutes late to the class. There was no one to greet me or open the locked door which I was given the access code to. I was later told it would lock after 5 minute but perhaps I was under 5 minutes because it was not locked. I walked in sat on my machine and started the work out. The instructor rudely on her open mic infront of the whole class told me I need to grab my stuff and leave because I am ouside of the 5 minute policy. When I didn't know what policy she was referring to and confused as to what was even going on (surprised and in denial she would be addressing me on a mike with a class full of people). She then walked up to me on the machine told me to grab my stuff, left the class she was teaching, and walked me out of the room! Told me if I have a problem I can call the owner. I'm mortified and disgusted by the behavior and treatment, there are dozens of better Pilates places in Miami ....don't go here...specially if you have to deal with Miami traffic or midtown parking!! read more
