I recently started the C25K program, and of course what everybody says about that is "GET GOOD SHOES!" And the way to do that, apparently, is to "go to a local shop that specializes in runnin, they know what they're talking about." I had no idea about local shops, although I'd heard of this one - I didn't know anything about it. Google found reviews from other locations that were just glowing, though, so I decided to give it a shot - and boy am I glad that I did!
I got the name of the guy who served me - Jason. I was approached very quickly on entering the store and when I told him what I was looking for he went straight to business. He had me take my shoes and socks off and stand and walk for him while he watched, explained what kind of shoe would be best for me, and showed me what I was looking for and why. Unfortunately I have hideously huge feet for a woman, but Jason gave it his best shot and went through several pairs of shoes. And he *could* have sold me just anything off the shelf and I wouldn't have known better - I had no idea how the shoes were supposed to fit - I figured if my feet weren't pinched, I was good, but he explained that because of the width of my foot he just didn't have anything in stock that he felt would support me well enough. And instead of just selling me any old thing, or even just sending me away empty-handed and disappointed... he wrote down what I should look for *and sent me to a different business*. I was shocked. Nobody anywhere outside of television does this! I was so impressed! So impressed that I ended up buying some socks there just so I could give them a little of my money, and I'm planning on signing up for one of their workshops as well. That, and this 5-star will review, will hopefully convince other businesses that to work together in order to help the customer find what is best for them is the way to gain happy, loyal customers who tell other people to go there - so go there now! read more
