At the same time, it makes it really easy to stop by Uptown Trading when you're already downtown for something else. Look for it across the street from Macs or down the street from Swiss Maid Fudge. Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of random little trinkets. Honestly, the whole shop is trinkets - but not in a bad way. They aren't your standard "Wisconsin Dells Fare" that you'll find in most stores around town. Instead, they're different types of items that seem more like collectibles instead of garbage or "funny gifts". They have small statues (ducks, birds, horses, wolves, planes, etc.), lots of personalized name products (spoons, knives, etc.), toys for kids, stuffed animals, collectibles, cast iron figures, clocks, dream catchers, cedar boxes, and so much more. They just have a lot of decor items you could use around your home. While most of it isn't too "functional", if you want a neat reminder from the Dells that doesn't look like every other store you visited, this is a good place to shop. The prices are super reasonable too. It's surprising. I walked out with 5 items for less than $17. That's basically all of the "Bring back an item from the Dells!" shopping I had to do in one place. If you're buying larger items, they go up into the $20's or $30s, but for most of the decorative items and trinkets, you're looking at least than $6 each. Great prices - especially for a town that's known for tourism. The staff was super helpful here too. Surprisingly so. I wasn't entirely sure about some things about a couple items, and she was happy to answer any of my questions. When I was purchasing one of their trinkets, she took it out of the box and pointed out a flaw on the item - then found another box until she found one that flawless for me. She was really sweet and didn't have to take that much time for me. She was really helpful and nice. It did take awhile to get checked out (because they seem to do hand-written receipts and have an old cash register), but they DO accept credit cards, and the process was really smooth. It was generally a good store to shop in. It doesn't have a lot of the cheesy "tourist" items that most stores do, and it has a clear "small business" feel to it that makes it different than most of the mass-produced stores in the Dells. I'd definitely come back.

The consignment aspect is a nice feature if you're interested. You can either cash out if your items are purchased or keep it as store creddonates. Will sort theough your items and take things that corespond with the current season. Note: they only keep your unsold items for so long and if you don't come to pick it up by the set date, it will get donated. There isn't a reminder that I know of so that's a downside. Overall, it's a great alternative to online places like Poshmark or Mercari to sell your items and shop for cute quality clothes, plus, it's great to stay local!

When they did they promptly rang up my three items. They told me the total. I paid by card. My total was $78.96. She asked if I wanted my receipt. I said yes. She put it in the bag. When I checked it later I was surprised to see my total was $82.00. I assume she added a tip for herself. I don't think ringing up my items was deserving of a tip and I was not asked in anyway if I would give her a tip. She just decided how much to take from me. That was dishonest and I wonder how many people especially those who decline the receipt are tipping a cashier? Be sure to get a receipt. I told everyone for the rest of my trip that I wanted one. I tip for service. Not for someone to ring up my items. I picked out the stuff without assistance. When I pump my gas and I pay the cashier I don't tip them.
