This is my "go-to" Target. It's closest to home, fairly new, clean, and has pretty much everything I need. Parking is great, the lot is huge. I've never had to park further away than I wanted to. I typically choose spots further out and next to cart returns, though. The area is growing insanely quick so I do have concerns that this Target will be getting more and more busy, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. The only thing I wish this Target has was a full grocery section. It does have a small "market" type selection, but I wouldn't be able to actually do my regular grocery shopping here. Lots of self-checkouts are nice too because who wants to actually interact with humans anymore? Lol, kidding, kind of. But - they are super convenient! Overall, I'm a fan! read more

Service sucks. The old lady at the exchange counter was no help at all. All I wanted to do was pick up an item I ordered online for pick up over an hour ago, and they won't help even though there's basically no other customers in the store. Now I'm killing time because I need to wait for my order which is a single item that weighs less than a pound, so I'm writing a 1 star review. Could've been resolved in 2 minutes. This target sucks, never go there, it's for you own good. I returned a pair of pants today for the same pants but a different size. They gave me a target card with a difrent price from what it they were priced at. I tried to exchange them for the other size but they couldn't do that. The pants were in perfect condition, there is nothing wrong with the pants. So for your own good never go to that target. read more

Here is a larger store compared to the East Towne plaza location. This has newer stores around with Home Goods and Marshalls nearby. Overall, it was a bit limited as well compared to East Towne for the Vineyard Vines limited edition apparel and accessories. read more

Target is Walmart plus 20% higher prices. Oh we're "understaffed" they say... yeah two target employees in the whole Super Target working at checkout on TR evening. Yeah okay. I know because I asked when was having trouble finding things and no Target employees to be found anywhere. So the security guy comes out finally surveying the checkout and it's only 8:15pm, not even near closing at 11pm, and suddenly two more cashiers appear out of the woodwork. Gee, if knew Super Target had such poor customer service and was sooooo "understaffed" will be taking my business to Super Walmart next time, much better customer service. Plus Target customers are rude, especially the stereotypical legalized midget who just moved over here from India and thinks he is a regular Fonzie dbag who you just know is a road rager and wouldn't dare to pick on another man their own size but are rude to women, at the checkout. When I had to have a valid price check that Dbag was like oh is this going to take some time?! proceeded to almost bump into me, since the cashier literally moved his crap pile right next to scanner, to grab his crap then in a huff took off to self-checkout. This is probably the worst location I have even been to. I went to this store last night. At approximately 9 oclock, there was only one register open. There were about seven people in line. I walked over to customer service to check out. Three people were sitting around talking, doing nothing. When I say nothing, I am not being dramatic. One was leaning on the camera counter, another girl was playing with her sleeves and a third was on her phone. The third one rang up my items. I explained there was only one line open. Her response? Oh, we had to send one girl home. Hmm, ok. The attitude she said it with was unacceptable. If that were occurring, perhaps, she could have sent someone over to the long line and directed people to customer service. The customer service person seemed to be a manager. Even worse. read more

The Target store in Sun Prairie Wisconsin is one of the cleanest and not junky looking stores I've been in. Some of the other Target stores in Madison leave a lot to be desired. The people in the Target Sun Prairie are so friendly and so willing to help you find something if you can't. Sun Prairie Target will be my definite go to store. I live outside of Baraboo so it's fairly easy to get to. Keep up the good work Target employees in Sun Prairie. I almost forgot.....another plus is that unlike most of the Target stores around Madison.....Target Sun Prairie carries Knox rose clothing. In my previous review I said I was too cool to shop here, but I lied! Muhahaha! So I've been here a handful of times now and just recently ran into an employee who thinks he's so cool that even HE shouldn't be there. There was one lady ahead of me at the check out. The young man running the register said hello to her and asked her how she was doing. She responded politely and the transaction was done as he said thank you and goodbye to her. I step up to the plate and homeboy doesn't even look in my direction. I'm not expecting them to roll out the red carpet and hand me glasses of bubbly, but you can at least utter the word "hey" in my general direction. He scans and bags my items and uses all his life force to barely mutter "29.75." So I slide my good ol' plastic and his register spits out a receipt. To which he grabs said receipt, stuffs it in my bag, and thrusts the bag in my face. After that he just stared over the top of my head off into the distance and never spoke again. I was pretty surprised. Not a hello, goodbye, or even the often required "have a nice day" in a monotone voice. It's logical to assume that there are, at least, two sides to every story. I don't know what his story was exactly, but I'm going to guess that he was offended because I probably looked like his mama. His mama always says "why do you have those dime sized holes in your earlobes honey?" AND "why must you wear your pants around your knees?" OMG mom is annoying AND soooo embarrassing! The customer service here isn't usually that bad by a long shot, but whenever I do go I ALWAYS avoid that kid. I don't wanna perpetuate his mommy complex. Oh no you didn't!!! read more

I have to agree with Laura, I don't understand all the hate. I used to frequent the Madison East location. Used to. This Target isn't as busy as the Madison East location, and I like that. I can take my time and browse as much as I'd like without be a pain in some other shoppers butt. There's tons of parking, although I do find the handicapped parking that's on the side of the building isn't as functional as it could be. Customer service is something that I expect to be hit or miss any place that I go. Of course I've had some cashiers who seem uninterested and might just say "hi" and not mutter a word after, but as long as they do their job and give me the right amount of change back when I pay with cash I really don't mind. For the most part there's always a few associates who will ask me if I'm finding everything while I'm shopping. Returns are quick, just like every other Target I've been to. In comparison to the Madison East location I find that even if this store is not noticeably smaller the shelves are usually less picked over. read more

I have never been a fan of Target but have been stopping into this One because of its location next to Marcus Theater, Costco and Woodmen's. I don't feel it is anything better than the other stores of this type like Shopko or Walmart. The grocery section did become Convenient when I was shopping here for tubs and needed just a couple of grocery items. The 2nd time here this week I was asked if I wanted to get a target card, which I did it. But then I learned I could sync up the Target card with my bank's debit card and still get all The benefits of using the Target card. So, I was sold. read more

I really like Target. This is my secret spot for hair products as well and some false lashes and facial items. I like to hit the clearance items especially for kids clothes!! I come here to buy planners too! This place has the best planners, binders, and accordion folders! I also love that they sell my favourite brand of greeting cards here! I love Papyrus cards! They are so beautiful and very unique! Their toy section is really nice as well. I always come here to buy birthday gifts for my kids here (since ToysRUs is a hike from the East side). I don't really buy groceries here but if they have deals on granola bars or fruit snacks, I'll grab a few. The Starbucks is just a plus! read more

Ok, so I LOVE Target... I mean LOVE.... However I recently had a few little hickups with this one in particular. The latest being that my husband was looking to getting a new grill and he really wanted this one that was on sale. I knew it was at the Sun Prairie Target because we were just there less then 12 hours ago, but the Madison East one was on my way home from work. I stopped at the East service desk because I had an injury and couldn't lift it if they had it. The nice lady at the desk called the seasonal and they didn't have any in stock besides the floor model and they couldn't sell it. So the nice lady called SP target... This is where it gets hairy.... She was put on hold for over 10 minutes even after they knew she was calling from another location... Then she gave them all the info they were looking for to see if they still had this grill. Another 10 to 15 minutes went by... They said they didn't have it, but had more coming in in a few days... Fine, I knew there was a possibility that they may have sold it being the weekend before the 4th of July. So I went home and looked online and saw it still said they had 2. I thought, what the hell!?!? I know that sometimes the counts don't catch up until the next day, but I will try and purchase it for store pick up. I purchased it and guess what happened??? 45 minutes later I got the confirmation email saying my order was ready for pick up!!! So after this whole ordeal and that poor guest service lady being put on hold for over 20 minutes, they had the grill even after they said they didn't!! I know their hand helds even give the location of the item so this was POOR customer service on Sun Prairie Target's fault. read more

It seems like I frequent this Target about twice a week since I live nearby and twice a week I find myself annoyed at what should be non-retail-issues. Two stars for a few reasons: 1. there are 20 lanes to check out items and i swear it doesn't matter what time of the day i go, there are never more than 3 people checking customers out. i always spend at least 5 minutes in a line. 2. it doesn't matter what section of the store i shop in - they never seem to carry my size clothing. every size is enormous and when i find something i love, the only sizes available are XS, L, XL, and XXL. you know something is off when your medium-sized person is swimming in a XS dress. 3. motion-sensor cd compilations. have you ever tried to buy a book in this target? i can't look at paperbacks without triggering the motion-sensor on the damn CD rack. every.single.time. i am learning how to become stealthier and more ninja-like in order to avoid triggering CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES C'MON at top volume. 4. they don't sell alcohol. 5. every time i try to buy a piece of fruit, the checker is confused and requires a price check. The nice thing about this Target is that many of their grocery items are comparably priced. Almost all of their cheeses are about a dollar cheaper than Copp's. The produce is fresher and better, too. Added bonus - their protein bars and health bar section is decent. But who wants to wait in line for twenty minutes to buy a Clif bar? read more

I'm more of a Walmart girl. Targets prices are usually higher. But target is usually cleaner and their employees seem to be nicer. If you hit their sales you can get some pretty good deals and it's nice that there is a Starbucks inside. read more

Decent Target, there are always lines at the checkout when I stop by. They need to monitor this more closely. It makes no sense to have 40+ employees working with only 2 lines open. I like these newer modem Targets. The store is clean. Wish this was a Super Target; all of the other options are blah. The parking lot ( Car Park in Australia :-) ) always has plenty of parking. Even during the peak of Christmas shopping there is plenty of parking available. The store also has a Starbucks near the checkout...always a favorite. If it wasn't for the variable line wait from 15 seconds to 10 minutes it would have received a 4 star. read more

I saw that they had in stock an item I've been wanting for a while now. When I asked an employee for help finding it the sales floor associate looked it up and he hadn't seen it and that was it. Now if it was a small item I'd probably would agree that it would be hard to find. But this said item is the size of a small tv and should have been easy to find. read more

With this visit, I think I've hit all the Targets in the Madison area. I have a problem. With the gigantic "bigger, better" versions of stores around it, I thought this Target would be in the same boat. It's just like every other Target, though. Which, in and of itself, makes it pretty great. It is a bit newer, a bit cleaner, and there is overlooked parking along the side of the building that put us wonderfully close on the bitter cold and windy night we dropped by. There's nothing about it that would make me drive all the way out there, but if I'm already in SP for something, the red glow will probably drag me in. read more

I purchased a home in a neighborhood near this Target partly because it's within walking distance and has enough variety for a quick shopping errand. Even though it's not a Super Target as Heather complains, they have a very satisfactory grocery department including fresh fruits and vegetables. I think this is a very crucial thing to have in the neighborhood considering there are quite a few people living on the southwest side of Sun Prairie, but there are no other stores within a reasonable walking or bike riding distance (next closest is Copps off Windsor Road.) Any shopping opportunity that we can access without a car is a plus for this area. read more

My main criticism of this place is how understaffed they seem to constantly be, even during the day. I have NEVER gone to the electronics section and found someone working there to help me find what I need. I always have to find someone who'll find someone to either help me, or TRY to help me. This morning I went in for a nano-sim-card for my new phone. Someone found someone who would try to help me, but ended up telling me he just didn't know how to do what I wanted, but that "the mobile people will be in around 12 pm." I decided I'd go back and buy the sim card when there was someone there to install it - Target is one of only two stores that can sell me the sim card needed with my phone and the company I get my service from. I decided to comment to store management about the seeming constant lack of enough personnel, and had to wait four minutes while two males working behind the guest services counter (and behind a wall where they could not be seen, and they could not see that a customer was waiting for assistance) jabbered away about what seemed to be personal stuff. When they came out, the young one indicated that he could help me with the concern I stated, but went on only to try to explain why there aren't enough people, without validating my concern and problem with that. In the end, he could only offer to let me fill out a complaint or comment card; but then, after looking through two drawers and not finding one, offered me a small piece of lined paper to write on. How am I supposed to know the format/formula they use for customer feedback? I declined, but said I'd stop by again when I came back to get my sim card, and ask for the form then. He promised me he would have found them and got one for me by then. We'll see, and I'll update this review after that time. On the plus side, they DO have modern credit card readers that know what to do with a chip card, but after you've done your job right with your chip credit card, the device makes an unpleasant buzz noise that surely would make the average person think "uh oh, what did I do wrong?" - - - - - - - - Well, I went back, arrived about 12:10, and by 12:20 the "Target Mobile" person who was supposed to be in at noon was still not there. "He isn't a regular Target employee," I was told, so they've no supervisory "powers" over him, and cannot even call him and ask him when he'll actually show up. Can my reader spell LAME? Further, the same young man was behind the counter at "Guest Services," Christian, and he couldn't offer anything but a bigger piece of paper to leave a note for someone in a supervisory position at the store. (Might have done something positive in my mind had he offered to get some kind of supervisor to speak with me while I was actually in the store, but that didn't occur to him, and I didn't ask.) I decided that since I was there, I might as well buy the card, and go home and see if I can install it and make it work myself, but that's a service that Target Mobile people are supposed to be providing. They are under contract of some sort with Consumer Cellular to do this, and I'm not getting what I deserve. The man who sold me the card, Michael, was polite and apologetic, but he, too, could not offer any way for the store to contact the Target Mobile staff person and ask when that person would actually show up at the store. Michael, you might have offered to call me when the man comes in, if I would be willing to come back to your store again, but you didn't think of that, too bad. FYI - there's a printed schedule by the counter that says the person would be in at 12:00 p.m. - meaning noon - but he hadn't shown up. They offered to call another Target store for me, to see if a Target Mobile person was in, but I said I declined to keep burning up more and more gas making more trips, when I felt one trip during normal business hours ought to be enough. I had made three, at that point, and a fourth would just be too much. I told Christian I wasn't interested in writing a paper note, but suggested he ask the supervisor to look for my yelp of today's date, told him my name, and asked that the supervisor contact me back here on yelp, so readers would know how Target follows up with this. ______________________ UPDATE: I took the phone to Best Buy, where another expert attempted to migrate my contacts from the old flip phone to my new iPhone. She couldn't do it. Now I'm no tech-savvy young buck. Most people I went to school with can only manage the bare essentials with electronic technology in computers and smart-this and i-that. But, doing some research on the web, and playing around with my phone, I found a way to get all of my contacts in my email client, Outlook 2016, than generate a csv file of them, import that into my gmail, and then use the email app on the iPhone to "fetch" my contacts onto the iPhone. Yeah, it shouldn't be so hard, but I don't earn my living helping people with new phones. read more

Why are other Yelpers getting down on the SP Target? It's pretty much the same as the Lien Road location in Madison, but newer and perhaps a smidge smaller. As this Target is just outside of Madison, it tends to have a bit more robust selection of clothes (aka: less picked over) when new things come out (esp. the designer collaborations). They could use more cashiers, but otherwise it's a fab location and I like that people who live East of Madison no longer need to go all the way into the city to get their Target on! read more

For a Target this place is not bad. I had to come in here for some sundrys. What I didn't like was that the place looked pretty picked over. That was a little irritating. The staff was fairly helpful and there was ample parking. Again, it's a Target. You have to to what you have to do...but at least it wasn't offensive. read more

Helllllllooooooo people it's target. What makes this target any different from Targets all across the USA? Well for one they are extremely organized with merchandise. Nothing drives me more crazy than messy shelves and clutter all over the place at stores. Yes, I've seen that at my last target in Ohio. Yuck, despised going there because it was always a mess and I could never find anything. Another plus is that shopping carts aren't all over the parking lot bashing into your car. Again, the last Target that I lived near you had to place super mario cart around the red plastic shopping carts upon entering and exiting. I think the people of Sun Prairie and demographics contribute highly to this location too. That's until Highway C gets built up and all the riff raffs from East Town start patronizing this location. Received horrible customer service several times here, most recently right before Christmas, thanks to Christian, in ironically of all places, guest services. He will make it abundantly clear that he does not have to actually go out of his way at all to provide good customer service, and he could care less if you spend money at the store that pays his wages. I'm actually quite thankful, however, as I spent the majority of our grocery money here and since I've decided to not shop here (and believe me, I have not and will not go back) I've realized what a rut I was in. This was my first time at this Target as I live an hour away, however, they had an item in stock that was out of stock on-line and at my local Target. I called and verified that they had the item and at the price that was indicated on-line. The associate said that they did and could hold the item for 24 hours for me. I verified the item and price a second time so there would be not mistake. I drove an hour to retrieve the item only to find it was not the correct item at all. They did, however, have the correct item in stock at $300 more than the price indicated on-line! The worker was very apologetic and admitted his error (he just made a mistake like we all do). However, when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that they were all in a meeting and couldn't be bothered so they would have to find a team lead for me. The woman that came up was so rude and told me there was nothing that she could do...I was just out of luck. All I wanted was an apology for their error (I even had the sku when I called) as I was only mildly annoyed but her attitude made me angry enough to never return to Target again!
