The service was okay, what we could expect for basic manicures. I went twice, a few days after my second visit one of my nails chipped. I called to have a appointment to fix that one and only nail. When I ask about the price, they change subject. After multiple times asking, I hear that only the manager could tell on the degree of chipping and that they would most likely need to redo completely my nails (all 10 of them) and that would cost me full price. So I'm pretty mixed feelings once it comes to runway beauty bar on one hand the location is trendy, the service is fast and the employees are nice the only thing is honnestly sometimes fast doesn't mean quality . And for the price I'm hoping for better products and maybe a complimentary water at the least. I used to go pretty religiously for a couple of months to get my nails done. And I did really like the nail tech I think her name was Emily. Therefore, one time i went with a different brand of nail polish then I usually got and after 4 days most my nail polish was chipped I got the full mani so my service including tip came to over 70$ for gel polish, no design no nothing . I was really busy that day so I called the next day after various back and forth the owner told me they only insured gel polish to stay for three days in my head I was like well I migth has well have both a polish and machine myself would've came to the same price and if chipped within the first three days I could just do it over. I was told I would have to pay 5 $ for each nail that chipped when technically 8 out of 10 were. WOrst customer service ever! read more

I didn't have time to get my nails done before my holiday and walked into Runway, which is near our hotel. I had to wait about 15 minutes for a get manicure and regular pedicure. Yes, the salon is small and there aren't a lot of amenities, such as free water. However, I can tell the pedicure will last & the massage was the best I've had in years. The manicure is excellent, especially since it's just the basic "on the go". The manicurist, a woman from Belarus, paid careful attention, even applying an extra coat of topper because the shine wasn't quite right. I highly recommend this location. read more

I usually don't write reviews but today I'm making an exception, I just recently move away from Montreal and just before I left I had my lashes done at runway beauty bar. The are by far best eyelash extension I've ever got, I had the natural set in silk done on me twice. I had my lashes done end of June they've only just started to fall off mid August WITHOUT damaging my natural lashes, which is pretty rare if you had your lashes done before. The staff is very professional and helpful, they once did my lash extension 3 times free of charge, it's not because they were bad at their job, it was the matter of finding the perfect glue for my eyes. I went here with my friend when I was visiting Montreal for the weekend recently. We each booked the 45-min "Indulgence" pedicure. I was able to book the appointments via Yelp which was super convenient. The salon it's self was clean, but no frills. I personally hate the bench seating for pedicures. It's awkward and not in anyway relaxing when your 5' tall and have short legs. My manicurist was lovely. She took her time and did a great job. The massage was great as well. My only complaint is that they are overpriced. At my normal salon, paraffin wax and a hot stone massage come with a regular pedicure and it costs about $35. If I got the indulgent pedicure, I can't even imagine what the other options are like. And this is in no way a complaint about the job the manicurist did- she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name because I would recommend her. My friend's service was barely 30-mins and when she questioned the timing she was told she had a senior manicurist who was just much faster than the others. I had to laugh at that response.... um, how about don't schedule her with people for a 45 min service if she can't preform a 45-min service then? If you need a quick service and aren't looking for something indulgent (even if the description says so) then try this place out. But if you want something more luxurious, I'd look elsewhere. read more

Very nice place to get your nails done! I never really go to the salon for my nails, this is my first time getting a gel/shellac manicure and I'm very satisfied! The lady who did my hails was very nice and meticulous and took her time to do the job. The place looked clean as well and the lady used gloves to do my nails too. They always show nice movies for women and place is quite neat and clean i do not like couple of girls there how they work. and looks like they work there long time but none complain or why owner does not take them out?? Today I originally made an appointment for my nails. After getting my nails done, I was really satisfied with the results, so I decided to get eyelash extensions on the spot. Both my nails and lashes were done with a Korean lady, Lucy? Cindy? (I'm truly sorry. I forgot her name.) She was amazingly meticulous, sweet and professional. She did a consultation with me before the treatment to ensure me achieve my ideal look. During the process, she was constantly checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable. I was really surprised with how they turned out! My eyelashes looked so full and they are super super light. After the process, she explained all the maintenance steps that I have to do. I went for a full face threading which includes eyebrows.... The lady didn't even ask me how I'd like my eyebrows done and just straight went for it and I had to stop her to explain, when I did she barely listened and made my eyebrows way too short ( opposite of what I asked ) my face still had a lot of random hair that she left undone so I went back after using the mall bathroom mirror ( I noticed the hair with minimal lighting and without focus ) and asked her to finish it properly. The technique she used while doing it made the threading more painful that it needed to be ( I've been doing this for a while ) and to top it all off, she gave me some cuts on the face in the easiest areas of the face like cheeks ..... and for that I paid 50$ ..... I honestly would expect a refund cuz it was so bad. For any type of threading I recommend you all to go to "salon Ami" on Darlington. They know what they're doing yet they're inexpensive. I should've stuck with them but they were busy and I was in a rush to get my face done. NEVER again. read more

Not honorable. I have used Runway's Eyelash Extension service a number of times in the past. Though I was not overly impressive with their skills, service, or long-lasting wear of their extensions, I had always found them courteous and very accommodating. A little over a month ago, I came back to get some volume extensions. I needed a full set and not a refill, I understood that - but it came out to be almost $200, quite expensive and very little "volume" in my lashes. Thus after leaving the shop, I was able to closely examine my lashes and realized that I got very few volume lashes and most were single lashes. I called the store immediately, talking to both the manager and the technician who did my lashes. They told me to come back - I had other appointments and things I had to do, and couldn't come back. So they reassured me that the next time I make an appointment, they would guarantee and refill me with volume lashes, free of charge. I ask if there was an expiration date for this refill, they said no. I ask them to document this in writing or send me an email. They said it wasn't necessary because they noted this refill and conversation in my files. They assured me this several times. I called a few days ago for that promised refill. Only to be told that there was no such conversation or notation on my account regarding said free refill. I then asked them to please speak to the technician who did my last refill - surely they had that record in their system. They did. The technician even remembered me. But they would not honour the free refill because it has been over a month - I should have came in within 2 weeks of my last extensions. What? Why would I come within 2 weeks only to have them put a few lashes that may have fallen off. I am upset because they failed to honour their promise, failed to document the issue, and most disturbing charged me for a service I did not get - charging me volume refill but only putting in some and the rest singles. read more

Small, clean, simple salon that offers high-precision, high quality manicures. I've tried three other salons at more expensive price points and these manicures are the most beautiful and longest lasting for me. Also, staff are very courteous and thoughtful. I went to Runway for a facial after I bought a deal on a coupon site. Previous experience trying to get a manicure there told me I needed to make an appointment, because they don't seem to take walk-ins. I made my appointment in person (to avoid any trouble, like I've had with other spas in the past) and had no trouble at all. My facial appointment started on time, and my esthetician was friendly. I filled out a form with a few questions about my skin type and was taken to the booth where I could settle in in privacy. The place is clean, quiet, and professional. They did a pretty good job on my mom and I; we both got mani-pedis one gel and one regular. They get three stars because they're SO overpriced it hurts and the customer service is inconsistent. It's all very sanitary and organized however the colors for GEL are limited and I took a few minutes to decide (I was getting my nails done for a wedding that weekend so i wanted to make sure what I chose out of the very limited selection matched my maid of honor dress) and the girl got very impatient with me, huffing and puffing and suggesting colors that were in no way helpful just to hurry me along; that's no way to treat a client dropping $200 for two mani pedis. If you're going to try this place: get regular nail polish; you'll have more options in color and at the very least won't pay the extra money for the poor customer service and try to get the skinny, tall asian lady (seemed to be the owner) - my mom got her and she was AMAZING, nice and gentle. I went for a manicure, the lady was French and barely spoke a word of english. While doing my manicure, she accidentally touched a nail that was not dry yet, so it was completely messed up. She attempted to cover it up, but still looked bad so I asked her nicely to redo it. She gave me so much attitude and was puffing and ended up doing a very bad job. And my manicure took double the amount of time. I went again, thinking I would give it another shot. This time I had another aesthetician, so I was hoping for a better experience. The service was good but at the end I was shocked by the price. I had called and reserved for a "Shellac" which is 25$ instead she gave me a "shallac manicure" which is 45$ HUGE difference in price. I came here for a Brazilian wax and it was quite possibly the most horrible experience I have ever had at a salon. First of all, the aesthetician did not show up for my initial appt, so I had to come back later in the day. Then, my actual wax took place behind a curtain with little to no privacy. The first girl to take me in clearly had no experience with waxing, she actually looked a bit disgusted, and made me bleed. The second girl to come in opened the curtain with little to no regard for my privacy, and was curt and unprofessional. I actually felt a bit demoralized after the whole experience. I got a manicure in this salon and I was not satisfied with the hygiene. After the manicure was done the girl just put the instruments back to the place she got them from and it seemed like she did not intend to desinfect them. So I realised she probably used dirty instruments for my manicure. Also her gloves looked used. In addition, this girl was extremely unfriendly, she didn'´t even say bye to me, I was shocked. I definitely won´t recommend this place and I hope that there is some kind of hygiene control authority that will evaluate them soon. read more

My friends manicure was not finished. The cuticle and sides of the nail were not actually painted and the woman cut her finger with the bamboo stick and put rubbing alcohol in the cut. The lotion was very cheap and greasy and overall was just a bad experience. I was very un satisfied. read more
